The 2nd Amendment is in place to protect those of smaller groups, to let minorities maintain their own rights. This is an example of a failure not of the right to bear arms, but a failure in our civil servants, a blatant violation of that couple's Rights guaranteed by social contract.

      Kotsa that’s not true, the last part isn’t true, you wouldn’t be kicked out before being found guilty. I’ve been on the jury for many cases in the military and an investigation into the case goes underway to find out if someone is actually telling the truth or not. Many of the cases end up being dropped from the accuser because they most likely are lying about the situation that happened. Out of 4 cases I’ve seen, 3 were dropped by the accuser and now the accused is slandered in the military. I think when this happens the accuser should have a case built against them afterwards to kick them out for slandering and wrongfully accusing someone on a serious subject.

    I used to be anti BLM, but after watching this and understand more about the circumstances... it really opened up my world view. After watching this, I do support BLM's message and movement within this context. I thought that BLM movement was primarily about black supremacy and harming those that disagree. It is more than that, and Im glad that you have explained that. I guess that 4chan and people of the right wing were putting words in BLM supporters mouth by saying that only black lives matter, and that isn't the case. It is like saying that people who have pride in their culture and background are also stating that they are excluding other culture, which is not the case. That's why we celebrate many holidays paying tribute and recognize to prior events culturally, like celebrating MLK's birthday, Abe Lincoln, and a number of recognizable figures. It doesn't imply that other figures weren't important, but people will spin it a different which is dishonest, harmful, and missing the point of such circumstances. I may have taken this as more than what you explained, but it really helped me think about things differently that I hadn't experienced in a while. Thanks Drift0r!

The COD community is pretty toxic and so so nasty to each other which I personally hate seeing and hearing over game chat but I’m praying and hoping that in the real world we can push that aside step up by paying attention and doing there part. Instead of brainstorming how spin this situation to make money off of it, I hope more people like Drift put that aside and do there part too.

      While the click bait and toxicity found in the COD "community" - I would argue that there is no such thing, but that is neither here nor there - is frustrating. It is a result of children having their parents buy the next COD and TH-cam not enforcing their own rules regarding click bait. What I do not understand why anyone would expect anything better from such content creators? I would say the same for most mainstream media outlets, but that is also a discussion for another day.
      Drif0r has always - maybe not since the beginning, but since a several years ago - done philosophical commentaries of varying degrees. My assumption is that he does so with the intent to educate his audience and because he likes to share what is on his mind. Thus this video is not surprising. Since I have not seen it yet, I hope that drift0r is impartial and acts upon principle.

      I mean, for the most part, many people are completely uneducated about these types of topics. TH-camrs are pretty big with children, especially recently, so I prefer they stay out of it. I don't care to hear Logan Paul telling me about the BLM movement. As for the COD "community," there isn't one. It's just a bunch of people playing a game. It's probably the most disjointed group of people who play a certain game.

    • @joeykelly5642
      @joeykelly5642 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They're not "keeping their heads in the sand" - they're just deciding not to discuss issues unrelated to their channel. You can't force people to put out videos on a certain subject. The notion that their percieved "silence" is somehow racist or part of the problem is absolutely absurd.
      Just to be clear, I'm not saying that Drift0r's commentary on the issue is overextending the bounds of his channel. He has a history of producing videos on political issues, philosophy, religion, and other related subjects. However, for those who don't produce these types of videos, such as many other CoD creators, there is no reason to expect them to make a video on this.

To put an end to all of that is to stop pointing the fingers at everybody else but yourselves. Tell your kids to follow police orders and not have guns in the car. Tell your kids that just because you're black does not mean that you can't get ahead in this country. There are plenty of successful black people, how, they grew up and out of their victimhood mentality. Here is what I have to ask: How does this issue get "resolved?"
    -
    It's not as simple as an issue of altering current legislation; In wording, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights protects all people who are citizens of this country, regardless of race or beliefs. Has it become a necessity to create Third Party, or increase Government Driven Organizations, to protect against further racial discrimination, misconduct, and to investigate national and local law enforcement?
    -
    Or is it a systematic issue inherent within the older generations that we have to continue to wait to die off? Yes people have worked towards movements against racial discrimination, and we can say that, over time, the issue has gotten much better, but has yet to be "resolved." So I reiterate my point, regardless of what we try to change, is it a matter of waiting longer until the older generations, who grew up in the world of rampant segregation and discrimination, to die off?
    -
    I certainly don't stand for inequality as I have many people I love who are minorities and people of color, but I also cannot say that I agree with the rioting as a form of protest. I'm all for peaceful protest, but the concern and question once again comes to what solution can/will we actually come up with as a result?

    • @cryw1092

      I would think that the solution is attempting reform from within these police forces, since the problem is that they tend to protect each other, regardless of what the one they are protecting has done, while abusing their power to do it. This is the sort of change that requires a concerted effort over the course of years in order to see the results, but it is also the best option.
      The fact that it requires such effort is probably why very few people have actually tried it, which makes every person trying to justify the violence by saying "we tried peace" very frustrating.

    I recently started to see your videos, specially the Black Ops II guides, since I returned to the game now in quarantine.
    When I saw that you decided to express yourself not only to your public but also to a more broader audience, I was curious to see what you wanted to put in the table, and now I conclude that you have a great sense of justice, one that wasn't present in my knowledge, and it's good to know.
    I believe that you did a great job, considering that you left an excellent reflexion with your personal story. Other aspect in which I also believe that you "nailed it" was with the serenity you expressed yourself. Of course, people could say that is not the same situation to record your person in a controlled environment like your room compared to, let's say, a street talk, a debate, or similar cases, but I have seen cases of controlled environments, in where even people get "negatively emotional" (like starting to increase their volume tone without too much reason and even starting insulting the camera, I don't know why, but they act in such way).
    Now, I'm not american, but still, I believe I can express my point of views on the case; First of all, I completely condemm the murder of that poor man, who never deserved such "treatment". In a second point, I agree with you that neither of both spectrums are actually doing it in an ideal way, yes, with good and bad events, but still, not "enough".
    I'm not a lawyer, and to be honest, I also don't know too much about the laws that regulate your country, but from what I have seen by various media, people, articles and your person, I would say that a great awareness campaign is needed not only in your country, but across the entire world, in demand to quicker generational changes. We are already present in the XXI century, with humanity passing through a very complex timeline, full of all types of devastating conflicts and problematics, that should have taught us to not condemm ourselves to repeat the errors of the past, but as the saying tells "there is people for everything in this world, for good and for bad causes".
    Apart from massive awareness of respect to all humanity, regardless of what genetical conditions we can have, I also believe that the "freedom phylosophy" in which the United States of North America is apparently based is a double-edge weapon, and I would encourage that government forces should have more regulations, since they are the ones who are in power most of the time, therefore they should be the greatest examples to the societies, something that unfortunately is not always the case. With the civilian population is more harder to implement this, since you cannot control like nothing the behavior of the masses in a 100%, there will be always persons that will recurr to violence to respond to a certain violence, believing that what they are doing is the correct behavior, when in most of the cases is just going to make the case worse, and should only be kept as a ultimately last resource tool, and one should have the duty to prevent it as much as possible.
    Definitely, 2020 is becoming the darkest year in the recent evolution of the XXI century. Not only the world is facing COVID-19, an enemy that could have been prevented from rising in a first place, but also we are facing the worse aspects of human nature.
    I'm just hoping that with time humanity will evolve, and not un evolve in social terms. Great video, Drift. Greetings from Colombia.

    here in alberta, canada, we have something called ASIRT (Alberta Serious Incident Response Team) that functions similarly to what you're talking about with respect to a special division that is separate from the police that is responsible for automatic investigations when people are killed or seriously injured by police, or other allegations of misconduct.
    this was an excellent video, and i'm proud to add myself to your subs.

    I'm quite conservative in my views however I live in Ireland, from an outsider's perspective I really couldn't understand the need for a black lives matter movement because of how different things clearly are. Now I can see that antifa and blm really aren't one in the same and shouldnt be regarded as such. I am really grateful for the insiders perspective from someone as experienced as you. And I fully agree that violent riots are extremely counter productive for both sides of the argument. Especially during a time like this we should be coming together as human.

      @B Pr yeah 45 is actually not fascist or any other thing we've been told to believe he is. propaganda is a real thing, and is really dividing the country and adding insult to injury. i bet you, if the mainstream media wasn't as partisan as it currently is, because it's another election year, the tensions would have subsided a long time ago.
      Plus I'm black, and I support the movement black lives matter, because, of course I think my life matters, but I don't think my life matters more than anyone else because I'm black; that's literally racist.
      And from what I've been seeing of ANTIFA, I honestly don't support them. In my opinion, if not all of them, the most active and loudest ones, pretty much want to burn the country down, and that's just foolish and immature.
      Plus, my libertarian views literally don't align with their radical tactics. They literally suppress and oppress people, which in itself is dangerously more fascistic than anti-fascistic, and that's why I can't support them.

    This is one of the most even toned and level headed take that I've seen so far and highlights the issues on all sides of this thing. The major problem with the violent protests right now is that the focus has been somewhat shifted away from the original problem. I have shown new ones, but the good still doesn't outweigh the bad. Glad to see someone on here has a rational approach to this.

    • @lowdermilk89
      @lowdermilk89 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, it was fascinating to hear about your childhood because growing up and living in West Virginia, we are just taught that people are people are people. We are, for the most part, isolated from many of the issues that occur other place which is nice, but living in our own bubble isn't the way we grow.
