Being a Karachiete I can say that Karachi biryani is the mixture of Bombay and Sindhi biryani while hyderabadi biryani is pure orignal belongs to one place..... so both are unique on its on and have different class..... tried both loved both

I love Hyderabadi biryani. It’s more flavourful and not spicy. I have tried Pakistani biryani a few times but not a big fan of it. It’s extremely spicy and sometimes dry too. The only Pakistani biryani I liked was the one my friend made for me. Also the mirchon ka salan doesn’t look authentic. It’s more of a green colour coz it’s made with green chillies which are not very spicy along with a little bit of tamarind paste and dry coconut powder. I am not sure if I can find a good Pakistani restaurant in Canada which serves good biryani.

I feel like the restaurants are not doing any justice to Biryani. Same goes for Hyderabadi. It’s meh in Canada but if you go to India and try it you will end up licking your fingers lol.
That's the same reason we don't like Hyderabadi biriyani, it's too spicy, the real deal is Lucknowi biriyani, perfect balance of spices and aromatics.

I am from Kolkata, India. I love Awadhi biriyani, specially from Lucknow. Lucknow is the city of foodies and kebabs. Awadhi biriyani looks very close to Karachi biriyani, color orange zyada hota hain kyunke saffron zyada dalte hain. Kolkata biriyani bhi very close to Awadhi biriyani, but usme ek aloo aur ek anda bhi mil jayga aapko.
India main compare kare toh Hyderabadi biriyani zyada teekha hota hain, usme woh log boht zyada mirch dal dete hai, uppar se badam bhi dete hain.

Have tried both. Hyderabadi biryani flavours are more earthy , made with kaccha ghosht and cooked under DUM. Karachi biryani is more on the spicy side and is a pakka gosht biryani.

we are originally hyderabadi living in Karachi so Ihv tasted both authentic ones , I vote for Karachi biryani , ithink it has evolved into this but whole pak or Mideast dont have this real karachi biryani it's best, ur right hyd one is less cooked and less spices , ur very precise its chicken is fairly simple like boiled taste compared to fried grilled taste of kar one .

Pakistani Biriyani is just like North Indian Biriyani, very similar to Lucknow style, as sindh, punjab these regions were in the northern part of British India. But India has a lot more to offer, we have delicious Kolkata Biriyani & off course the best of all Extremely delicious Hyderabadi Dum Biryani ! Visit hyderabad if you want to get the authentic taste of this..! Literally nothing can match it's level... You can sense it's aroma for days after having it.
