Alphorn Guiness WORLD RECORD Switzerland 2024 Klewenalp

- After more than 15 years, numerous Alphorn players from allover Switzerland and various other countries gathered up on the Klewenalp in the Canton of Nidwalden. They gathered to aim for breaking the World Record of the largest ensemble of Alphorn players from 2009 up on the Gornergrat, where over 366 Alphornplayers were making music. On the 31st of August in 2024, originally more than 555 Alphorn players were aimed to gather, it happened that a lot more people came and in the end 1006 Alphorn players made it to the Klewenalp. This is almost threefold of the previous record. The concert of Alphorns took more than 5 minutes and was approved by Guinness Book World Records to be valid. Thus, Klewenalp Switzerland holds now the world record of the largest Alphorn Concert of all time!

Hi Marion and Jan. I was just talking with Bleon and another friend about you and New Glarus. I actually think the Americans that came over for the World Record were probably from New Glarus. Maybe you will find about this; latest at the next Alphorn music event in there :) I would love to visit New Glarus some day. Right? It was really an amazing day. I could not even imagine how it would be seeing 1000+ Alphorns at once. You should consider visiting such a festival some day. They are usually held in late July or early/mid August. Just there will be maybe only up to 50 Alphorns. But it looks more spacious and the setting will be more impressive in terms of Swissness with more flag artists around. Männlichen and Nendaz have great festivals usually.
Wow. What a world record. What a wonderful Alphorn Festival in the Swiss Alpine. By the way, what was the name of the song that the Alphorns played, sounded like an anthem.
I know it's not entirely the same but the tempo of the song reminded me of our Malaysian anthem, Negaraku.
I didn't know they could play different notes!
Its very difficult to play Alphorn. I would love to learn it. Its fascinating and challenging, even to get a note out of the horn😄
