    I read online that Mr Weathering is oil based paint. Can I use Mr Weathering on Mr Color (lacquer paint) painted models for some black wash, and then use cotton bud dipped in some Mr Weathering Thinner to slowly remove the excess on the model part? The solvent won't affect the lacquer paint I put on earlier on the model, right? Thanks.

      I would recommend to be safe first apply an acrylic varnish then do your weathering.

    What a "happy accident" as Bob Ross would've said, stumbling on your TH-cam page.
    Great advice, Bru! Thank you! 🇿🇦

      Thanks, it does work great especially if applied over a gloss coat as Statoil Bensin has said.

    So can you thin normal oil paints with Mr Weather thinner? Thanks

      Although I assume it would work just fine, I have not tested this. I suggest try a small amount before committing.

    Can I mix the two colors of Mr weathering?

    • @supernovastudio4822
      @supernovastudio4822  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Although we have not done it, there is no reason why it should not work, oil paints are great for mixing and blending. I suggest putting different colors on your palette and then blend them until you are happy with the colour before applying to the model.

      Hi Lloyd, we have tested a couple and may do so in the future if we find the right model at a reasonable price

    How do you find those Vallejo synthetic brushes? They are available in Brisbane and the cheapest model brand brushes. Thought of trying some out.

    • @philipzwart6449
      @philipzwart6449 ปีที่แล้ว

      We sell them in South Africa not sure where to get them in Brisbane. You can ask any Vallejo paint stockist in your area they should be able to get them for you.

      @@philipzwart6449 hey sorry I meant they are sold here in Brisbane. And I confused your accent for mine at the start of the video (Australian). But as I heard you talk more I realised you are South African! Funny how we have some similarities in our accents. Do you ever find that about Australian accents? That they can be similar for certain words?

      It takes for forever to dry, like days. And then it still will smudge if you touch it with your finger. I’ve had luck with giving it a few days to dry and then sealing it in with a matte varnish. I ruined a Star Wars millennium falcon model by not waiting long enough when I first used the product.
