This is another News Story about RESCUE THE BIRDS --
A REFUGE FOR SAVING THE WILDLIFE (located just north of Chicago). RESCUE THE BIRDS lovingly cares for some 60 Parrots who need new forever homes!
    PLEASE VISIT THEIR WEBSITE:
    www.rescuethebi...
for more information, to meet their birds and, if you can, to
ADOPT A BIRD and/or to MAKE A DONATION!
Like so many other Parrot Rescues, THEY HAD TO BUILD AN ADDITION THIS YEAR to accommodate their ever increasing population of unwanted Parrots and DESPERATELY need FUNDS TO COVER THEIR EXPENSES!
To find out WHY so many Parrots (especially Cockatoos) wind up in Rescues, visit: www.mytoos.com/ AND
    www.parrotsperc...
And please remember...'DON'T BUY, DON'T BREED, ADOPT A PARROT IN NEED!'
Thank you so much for watching and helping!

That's so great! Thank goodness for true parrot lovers. And remember, folks, if you want a parrot, first do research. And then ADOPT a bird who needs a great home.

I did some volunteering at this place in the summer of 2003. I miss it sometimes. But I am glad to be owned by two great cats, Goldmine and Raphael! ;)

That's an amazing observation that the '"wild flocks are starting to 'talk'"! Parrots are truly unique creatures! Thanks for sharing! :>)

With a smile, the second man bent down and picked up another starfish and said, I made a difference to THIS one!

I know...all we can do is save them 'one parrot at a time:'
One day, a man walking along the beach noticed another man
picking up starfish and tossing them into the ocean. Curious, the first man asked the second man why, and he explained that the low tide had stranded the starfish on shore, and they would die unless they made it back
into the water. But there are thousands of starfish on the beach! exclaimed the first man. You couldnt possibly make a difference!

Sadly there are people who do do that. I think it's just because most of them are native here and will join a flock to survive. Because of that and some pet birds escaping people are noticing that wild flocks are starting to 'talk'. They pick it up from the new members.

@xrhystonx I wish that were the case in America. There are birds on waiting lists in America for rescue centers. Do people in Australia just let there birds go fly free if they don't want them anymore? I wish birds could survive the freedom here, but it is too cold in the winter.

Do you guys adopt out to anyone across the United States ? I’ve tried to adopt for years but there is none available in my area .
I have a conure I’ve had for 13 yrs but I’ve been looking for a senior amazon , I have fostered an African gray and other birds such as Indian ringneck and a blue crown conure ..
