This is another great video. This is how a great teachers gives high level lectures.
I'm happy I saw it now and not in a hurry.
Thank you for those kind and meaningful words! Much appreciated!
So great, Lee! I get a lot of value from your insights about observing nature. Thank you sincerely.
John - these comments are what drive me to do these videos!
What a fantastic video! You brought me right back to that amazing day when we spotted the black wolf in the middle of the road. I never would have thought that I'd be okay with shooting in one place for nine hours! It was an experience that I'll never forget and thanks so much for all of the instruction, advice, mid level jokes and the best time ever!
I love hearing that! Glad you enjoyed the workshop and the video! Heading off to Peru on Friday! Can't wait to test out my new OM-1 Mark II's! Hopefully see you on another workshop!
I would absolutely love to do another workshop with you! Enjoy Peru and bring back some killer photos!
Great video Lee. Fantastic advice and description of that moment. I especially enjoyed how you listed the critical priorities to ensure images captured described the story and wolf personalities. The battery grip is a no brainer in such circumstances over hours of shooting. Thanks for sharing your expertise.
Andrew - thank you for taking the time to encourage! The world needs more of that! I appreciate you!
Great tips Lee. Looks like such a great experience during those shoots!
Thank you! It was mind-boggling experience! Appreciate you being a part of my community!
It was wonderful meeting you and sharing this incredible experience. Your advice is spot on. Thanks for this video.
It was great meeting you as well Irene! Wasn't that such an incredible day and so much better shared?!! Thanks for the encouraging words!
Absolutely superb advice and spectacular images of the wolves Lee. Are you planning to show any more images of the first and the second day? Thoroughly enjoyed the whole programme. I hope your clients realised how lucky they were to witness such a rare event within photography range. Well done Lee!👌
Henry, I will be sharing more on my instagram (Lee Hoy Photography) and Facebook (Lee Hoy), I may include in some future videos as well! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Wow, "Big Moment" is putting it mildly. Thanks for posting, and discussing/reviewing your group's epic event! Documenting Circle-of-Life moments is a emotional thing, that illustrates some of the unlimited wonders that nature has to offer.
Hahaha, it was a bit mild wasn't it for such an experience! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Fabulous video today! Clearly, this was an emotionally impactful event for you, particularly considering your degree of experience.
It was overwhelming in terms of emotions and gratitude! Thanks for being a part of my community here!
Hi Lee: An excellent video on seizing the rare moment to maximize your wildlife shooting experience. Your advice was dead on correct, and, in this individual's opinion, applies to all wildlife photographers no matter what brand of camera they shoot with. Thank you. PJI
Thank you for the encouraging and supportive words, much appreciated!
Wow ¡¡¡ Incredible video ¡¡¡ Your a a lucky man, that´s one of me dreams: to see wolves in nature. For me, just to see them would be a great event, to take the photos would be .... incredible. I think that to keep calm in that situation is not an easy task ;-)
Hahaha, no staying calm wouldn't be easy, but it is super helpful! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Agree with you on using higher iso. One of my best macro shots came from 2000 iso. I always thought "well my om says 200 is recommended.. man this is gonna suck at 2000... f it [clicks] oh... ohhh".
I didn't use it with this macro shot but with higher iso, denoize and now lightroom have awesome denoiseing capabilities. That software alone has fixed m4/3rds only achilles heel.
I should also add that was In camera focus stack of 15 . So I was expecting that final image to come out looking like s/
DxO pure Raw 3 for the win for me! Yep, ISO is a non-issue now! I will do a video at some point comparing DxO, Topaz, and Lightroom on the AI denoise! Thanks for watching and commenting!
hi Lee
I enjoyed your wise words in this video. I learned a lot from it again.
warm greetings from the Netherlands
As usual, thanks for commenting! I appreciate it! Hope to meet you in the field someday!
How about some merch? "Don't Crop the Crap" T-Shirts or Hats.
Dude, great idea! Stay tuned for information on "Don't Crop the Crap" "Just Shoot" and more T-shirts and stuff! Thanks for the idea! Appreciate you watching and commenting!
Lee, I’m new to your channel and this was one of the best videos I’ve seen. Thanks for doing this. I’m now a subscriber and looking forward to your future videos. In the meantime, I’ve going back and viewing your previous episodes. P.S. I’m a long time Olympus shooter and now upgrading my EM-1 Mk ii to the OM-1 Mk ii.
Bob, wow, what a great comment to come back home to after the Amazon! You make the time responding to comments so enjoyable!
Beautiful images with emotional depth and meaning. I like the way you share your experience with important points. I have a question about something else. Have you tried the M.Zuiko 12-40mm F2.8 PRO at wider angles combined with focus stacking? I don't have this lens but may soon invest in one, I hope it is a great landscape lens that works well with stacking / focus bracketing. Best regards from Norway
Thanks for watching and commenting! I have two (2) of the 12-400mm F2.8 PRO's as I use one for camera trapping and one for video. I love it, but I would say the 8-25mm F4.0 has become my favorite landscape lens! Both are outstanding and the 2.8 on the 12-40 means it can be used at wider angles for night sky too. I don't know if I have focus stacked with that lens, but it should be incredible to do so!
Thanks.... The death of the bison not only feeds the wolves but other critters too - ravens, coyotes, foxes, rodents and ?????
Yep, mother nature has no sympathy, but she does provide amazing spectacles to experience and photograph! Thanks!
Great tips about an epic opportunity! Excellent example of why using highlight alerts is a game changer. I look forward to the opportunity to join you on a photo workshop soon!
Don - I would love to have you join me on a workshop in the future! Thank you for watching and commenting!
is it "preparation + skill x patience" or "(preparation + skill) x patience"?
The latter!
What a great story Lee and story teller you are..phenomenal in one word👍👍👍..OM Systems can be proud having you as an ambassador. 😀👌…looking forward to your next video or podcast maybe about blinkies or other excitement subjects..
Ron, thank you so much! I have so many ideas and such limited time for videos!!!! I will be doing how I expose, blinkies and so much more as we go along!
I have OM-1 and Nikon Z8, The Z8 does have a live histogram in the viewfinder.
OM1 too!
Yes, it has live histogram but no live highlight alerts (blinkies), that for me is the biggest downfall of Canon and Nikon mirrorless cameras. I wouldn't have a mirrorless without them! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@leehoyphotography Ah OK your right; )
Wow Lee, what an amazing video. Thank you for posting, look forward to more superb images, tips and stories from your channel 👍👍
I am going to start a series where I occasionally do "How I got the Shot?" Where I discuss the settings, fieldcraft, creative elements, etc. of each shot! So if you enjoyed this video, you will really enjoy this series! Thanks for the encouragement!
@@leehoyphotography Fantastic Lee look forward to learning more from you and hope your channel continues to grow. 👍
John, just recieved your support! I can't tell you how much I appreciate that! When I have been out in the field leading a workshop all day, come back to record a video and edit it, this kind of thoughtfulness makes it worthwhile! Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart!
@@leehoyphotography The knowledge that you share on this channel is very helpful and deserves support, hope your workshop went well!
Excellent as usual Lee, thank you.
Love hearing that! Thanks for being a part of my TH-cam community!
