As a little girl I wanted to be an archeologist. Later I attend a school that was 95% Jewish kids and I wanted to be Jewish. At the last part of 6th grade the Seven day War happened. The rams horns came to school and were blown for victory. It was amazing! This tour was the answer to those dreams in a nutshell. Your hometown is beautiful. Your story about going to Masada was touching and you are an idiot for not finishing it. You should! The toilet tour was SPLENDID! The world and all civilizations have always functioned around the need to pee and poop. You are correct in believing maybe getting along with the neighbors just might begin with bumping in to one another in a public toilet. The stairs to the deep water system near Gezer were steep and I didn't mind the bats. They did not want you disturbing their sleep! I am one of your 25% female viewers and can't understand why there aren't more of us. See you soon.

Why would studying the Arabic language in uni have anything to do with the “Israeli point of view” 🤷🏽♀️ FWIW, I’ve never once heard Oren say anything that wasn’t 100% factual and historically correct.
@@MaryamofShomal it means that having studied Arabic (and Farsi) I was exposed mainly to a certain point of view. Trying not be lazy, I decided to gather more information because I am aware that the situation is complex and nuanced, so I ended up here, trying to learn something. I agree with you that what Oren says is factually correct but I find that sometimes he glosses over some other facts. I heard him saying that he'd whish there were more thumbs down on his videos because it meant that he reached also people that don't agree with him so I tried to point this out by saying that I don't always agree with him but still enjoy his content. I think it's thought provoking and informative. I think also he is a fantastic tour guide. Do we always have to agree on everything with everyone? I don't think so. Anyway, I am really happy that I found this channel, as I said. Only happy thoughts here!
@@chiarapegoraro9737Hebrew is much easier than Arabic, you'll probably pick it up very easily if your Arabic is high intermediate - advanced. Only 5 final letters, no middle changes and same root based system. (Plus you'll be able to understand most Israeli curses really easy).
Big fan of your channel. I'm a Canadian and have Indian heritage. I'm a Jewish convert and married to a Jew. I have never wanted to bring our kids to Israel because of the constant terrorism. We visit three times/year and we had left Israel on October 3rd and returned recently in January 2024 for three weeks. It is so impressive to see Israelis filling up the cafes and restaurants. Families are trying to maintain their routines of work, school, chugim and tiyulim. But…there is a cloud of sadness over the country…the hostages must come home to their families who await their return and there has been so much loss of loved ones…soldiers and civilians. Israelis are resilient and we are all hoping for better days ahead. Orin, you bring light around the world with your videos of the special Israeli Sunshine.

They only struggle with the Palestinians because they kicked them out of their homes after Palestinians were foolish enough to give refuge to Europeans Jews after the Holocaust. Now Palestinians realize their mistake but it's too late. Their lands and home are taken away from them and now they live like animals.

Toile is also "cloth" in french. Toilette is using a small cloth to wash up your arms, face, etc. Only recently have french called the toilet, " les toilettes". It's usually the WC or "les water" ( water closet). Americanisms are everywhere now LOL😂 When i first came to the States and someone asked me if i needed to use the toilet, it would confuse me. Do i smell bad ? Do i need to take a bath ??? Here ? In the restaurant ???? 😂 Talk about lost in translation!! I eventually caught on !!!

As a little girl I wanted to be an archeologist. Later I attend a school that was 95% Jewish kids and I wanted to be Jewish. At the last part of 6th grade the Seven day War happened. The rams horns came to school and were blown for victory. It was amazing! This tour was the answer to those dreams in a nutshell. Your hometown is beautiful. Your story about going to Masada was touching and you are an idiot for not finishing it. You should! The toilet tour was SPLENDID! The world and all civilizations have always functioned around the need to pee and poop. You are correct in believing maybe getting along with the neighbors just might begin with bumping in to one another in a public toilet. The stairs to the deep water system near Gezer were steep and I didn't mind the bats. They did not want you disturbing their sleep! @@MaryamofShomal it means that having studied Arabic (and Farsi) I was exposed mainly to a certain point of view. Trying not be lazy, I decided to gather more information because I am aware that the situation is complex and nuanced, so I ended up here, trying to learn something. I agree with you that what Oren says is factually correct but I find that sometimes he glosses over some other facts.
I heard him saying that he'd whish there were more thumbs down on his videos because it meant that he reached also people that don't agree with him so I tried to point this out by saying that I don't always agree with him but still enjoy his content. I think it's thought provoking and informative. I think also he is a fantastic tour guide.
Do we always have to agree on everything with everyone? I don't think so.
Anyway, I am really happy that I found this channel, as I said.

@@chiarapegoraro9737Hebrew is much easier than Arabic, you'll probably pick it up very easily if your Arabic is high intermediate - advanced. Only 5 final letters, no middle changes and same root based system. (Plus you'll be able to understand most Israeli curses really easy).
Big fan of your channel. I'm a Canadian and have Indian heritage. I'm a Jewish convert and married to a Jew. I have never wanted to bring our kids to Israel because of the constant terrorism. As Christians, no words can describe how we feel touring the land and it’s amazing each time! We visit three times/year and we had left Israel on October 3rd and returned recently in January 2024 for three weeks. It is so impressive to see Israelis filling up the cafes and restaurants. Families are trying to maintain their routines of work, school, chugim and tiyulim. But…there is a cloud of sadness over the country…the hostages must come home to their families who await their return and there has been so much loss of loved ones…soldiers and civilians. Israelis are resilient and we are all hoping for better days ahead. Orin, you bring light around the world with your videos of the special Israeli Sunshine.

They only struggle with the Palestinians because they kicked them out of their homes after Palestinians were foolish enough to give refuge to Europeans Jews after the Holocaust. Now Palestinians realize their mistake but it's too late. Their lands and home are taken away from them and now they live like animals.

Toile is also "cloth" in french.
Toilette is using a small cloth to wash up your arms, face, etc.
Only recently have french called the toilet, " les toilettes". It's usually the WC or "les water" ( water closet). Americanisms are everywhere now LOL😂
When i first came to the States and someone asked me if i needed to use the toilet, it would confuse me. Do i smell bad ? Do i need to take a bath ??? Here ? In the restaurant ???? 😂
