I’m so excited to try this in my future house lol. I’m sure there will be a recessed light somewhere that I’ll want to replace with a pendant, flush mount, or chandelier.
The person with the previous comment OBVIOUSLY DID NOT understand the step by step instructions. The installer followed the correct procedures. He eliminated the job nonessential screws and used the converters housing instead;completely securing the fixture to its new mounting unit.
They don’t tell you that you can put one of the self tapping screws through the can into the junction box and short out the whole damn thing causing you to buy a new can, get in the attic, replace it and then start all over
You must not attach any light fixture over 5lb to a remodel can light. Only new construction cans with bar hangers, using The Can Converter model R56 will support the weight of a 50lb light fixture.
I believe your having a problem installing the self tapping screws when no hole is present? Using a cordless drill with an extended Philips does the job.

"This job is a little more complicated than I thought it would be" ... Famous last words.
This is why electricians exist.
That's good stuff. I wanna dump this can in my entry for a mini chandelier.

would this work for a ceiling fan..
Yes it will...
What bracket
What about converting a CFL can light?
You will need to bypass the transformer and bring the 110V power directly into the can light itself.
Our electrical adapter won't work on a CFL can light
Watch what happens when you press the thumbs up button it turns blue
for 5 lb light fixture this is ok,what about 20 lb or more?

@@TheCanConverter : If I have an old work can/fixture, how do I convert that to a flush mount? Do you have a kit for that?
Probably edited the video or had a safe way for better compititon.
I’m adding a chandelier less than fifty pounds
This shit is impossible with a normal screwdriver
