  • Henningsvær is a city on the archipelago of the Lofoten Islands in Norway. It is not just a city; it's an island, and it's quite special. Henningsvær is a remote little island situated far north of Norway, located above the Arctic Circle. The Lofoten Islands are a magical place with the Northern Lights, Aurora Borealis, and stunning raw Norwegian nature.
But what is daily life like on a small island in Norway? I'm visiting Henningsvær, which, in my opinion, is a must-see and must-visit destination in Norway, and I'm talking to the locals. What is it like to live here? How are the seasons?
Norway has over 240,000 islands, and Henningsvær is a remote city or island with 500 people living there. In the summertime, it's a place where tourists flock, as it is a top sight to visit in Norway. But what is it like to live in a small remote city in the Lofoten Islands during the different seasons?
How many Norwegians live here? What do these Norwegians and newcomers do in their spare time?
Lofoten Islands is our favourite destination in Norway.

@@Becomenorwegian I think in Oslo, other major cities or normal small towns would be interesting as well, just to hear insides about Norwegian culture, their thoughts on any topics.

I have been wonder why there was no town attracting "economic expats" in Norway, but you found one. I think is not going to be the only one. Yes, most people prefer cheaper and warmer countries but there are a substantial chunk that will prefer something like this town. Sad most of the start ups are located in Oslo or big cities. This tendency can save many small cozy villages.

It was quite interesting to see and feel this little community of very creative people and nature lovers. It does makes sense to put in bigger city’s to attract talent, but it would be fun to explore if there are more smaller community’s like this were a concentrated amount people have the same interest or mentality.
I do believe that Norway is on its rise and with the current climate shift I do believe that people who normally would choose the alps will come to Norway.
Thanks for tuning in again and thanks for your comment, we really appreciate your opinion!
