  • Toyota’s been selling hybrid vehicles for two decades. When it launched in 1997, the first-generation Prius was like an alien spacecraft it was so advanced, but these days gasoline-electric vehicles are as common as smartphones. So there must be something outstanding about the 2017 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. Right?

    He's getting nearly _double_ the MPG I'm getting from my 2009 Ford Escape. And that's a small 4 cylinder crossover, too. Luckily, my main car is a '17 Lexus ES300h that nets me _nearly_ 40 mpg in combined driving. I'm absolutely sold on Toyota/Lexus (especially hybrids) now.

      Toyota and Lexus hybrids ain't terribly exciting, but they generally last forever and deliver amazing fuel economy. There's something to be said about that combination...

    Who's in charge of vacuuming the sugar out of that cup holder before returning this press vehicle? I'd love to see this cup holder measuring comparison added to future AutoGuide reviews.

    Maybe it's not incredibly exciting, but it's an absolutely excellent buy. The safety, efficiency, functionality, and legendary Toyota quality and reliability make it a no-brainer. I'd rather get the Highlander Hybrid, which is also really good-looking. The RAV 4 could use better exterior styling IMO.

    I have 2017 SE model and I love it. It might not be the most prettiest car to buy, but I get what I need, all the safety equipped, Best MPG for small SUV, and the best visibility to drive.

    In reference to the steering column, which was mocked as being able to move "up down and in out", which pretty much covers the entire x, y, z axis which essentially is full 3D movement and customization...and then compared it to a brick wall. You lost me. (brake on the comedy and press on the gas of reality...)

    You can get an XLE 4WD Hybrid under $30k, well-equipped.
    Pretty strong value, and will last you 15 years with nary a peep of dissent

    Oh man - this guy's humor is so tight. Just relax and be funny.
    Edit: Oh right, the Rav4. It's a great car - We are just too picky about "interior, driving dynamics" when there are only few things that matter in this category: seat comfort, fuel economy, rear seats, cargo space, Apple/Android integration, safety technologies, remote start and heated seats.
    Rav4 has it all(if not all, you can install it pretty cheap). It's just about: Do you like the design, or not?
    P.S. : I have an Audi and I couldn't care less about hard touch plastic at the top of the door or even bottom (who cares about bottom of the doors?) or the turbo engine that I have when I'm stuck for 45 minutes in traffic. I'm 10 times more concerned about filling up the gas tank once a week and spending $40 every week on it, when I could spend $20.
    Those $20 are not much, but - why the hell would I spend $40 when I can spend only $20 for even more practicality?
    People are just full of c..p. BE PRACTICAL, MAKE YOUR LIFE EASIER.

    I can't agree that 34mpg is astonishing. My near 12 year old TSX regularly achieves 29mpg...and that's not being overly light footed. --- Yes that's apples to oranges. I also have a '17 Tiguan that generally gets 23mpg. The Rav4 is certainly better than that, but nowhere near the build quality or 0-60 times.

    • @bmx7596
      @bmx7596 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah I'm not sure why your TSX matters at all here. Also, 29mpg is highway for the TSX, not the average. I don't care if you say that's your average either. The fact is, you would get get better mpg with this if it is. Maybe not astonishing, but undeniably a more efficient with more room and AWD for snow, rain.

    Hey, omg this weird windy "men" claims so much superficial unimportant crap about it. And in the negative, its most bad opinion is in this case absolutely matter of opinion. I love extremely this fancy, spacious, very solid and after quality looking Dashboard 👌 my wife have the new generation 2020 and in my 2017 we have in the first seat row a definitely more spaciousness room. 2. I like the solid massiv plastic top solutions from the Dashboard and specially because of its extremely durable lifetime. Let's see in already 10 ore 20 years compared to soft materials. Toyota is actually absolutely right ✅ Than the thing, with the alegedly boring car??? I did drove powerful, big suv s kia ect and they was great but this powerful and awesome driving rav4 2020 and my 2017, is for me that very enjoyable 😀 That I never can say, that this car is alegedly "boring " in the absolute contrary simply fun that extremely enjoyable quiet, very strong powerful if demanded...for example start with full gas a 0 to 62,..Miles in Europe 0 to 100kmh set the "5th gear" at the start on the hybrid and the car got it in very very powerful 6,7 SECONDS. Than the extremely much hightech possibilities between power supplying and extremely smooth riding comfort and great gas mileage, consumption makes that fun👌 extremely low taxes, extremely reliable and durable, not in the approach with these poisonous turbocharged wearing mainstream diesel ore in Europe unfortunately 😑 bad turbo gasoline crap cars 🚗 comparable AND for me, a never so contortable but decent curving behavior being suspension. Like here. The 2020 feels for me great but not that comfortable on bumping street situations like this 2017 rav4. But in this case as well matter of opinion, every one have its great 👍 advantage. The new feels a little more firm and stronger on bumping Street situations and curving streets but both in its class, in most cases , the world best cars really Toyota deserves here, to be the world's number one with distance but only not perfect is for me the not even cargo area bottom caused from the hybrid battery. But I use a little trailer so I save my in room area as well. But of course, after these rav4, number 2 is with distance but very great Honda Crv jet. Than kia Hyundai meanwhile. Then perhaps Subaru competitors. But don't even think about for the environment and reliability and durability and money saving, to buy a German car....never ever. Because there is no comparison, and I know alot German ingenious Mercedes audi bmw and I'm a German. Believe me, I be very honest, I need always the truth, if I be in the origin German ore another nationality.
