The Explorer 36 is the GOAT. It is the most well built, well made, most accurate, has the best brand/history/heritage, best case size, bracelet, and comfort.
It sure is a well-made watch indeed. I think this will really show in the next video I'm preparing, comparing the watch as a watch against the other ones.
I really enjoy these comparison videos! Thanks for the Update and good on you reconsidering and including the comments in the results. I still feel the explorer should be scored higher in the adventure category, as the high prize is already considered in the Replazability category and after all it was invented in honour of the first ascent of Mt. Everest - doesn't get much more adventurous than that ;) Keep up the great work, looing forward to the next one!
Of course there's a lot that could be changed in the scores, but as a comparison against the other watches, I still feel the intention of this version of the Explorer is not to really be an exploring watch for the reasons I stated. Still, it's so well-made that it can be used that way despite the shortcomings. But if we talk about the Explorer 1016, then we are talking about a different creature entirely.
The current 36 Explorer (which actually is only 35mm) is a nice ladies watch. The 39mm 214270 MK2 is hands down the best Explorer Rolex has ever produced.
