The Forge is a wonderful addition to online discussions and this episode is Illuminating as always. For me, the observation that the Right is not a movement but the Left is and that it is the Right which reacts to the Left was so clearly expressed that it was alarming. Much to think on. AHI speaks clearly and precisely but exceptionally, from real experience. She expresses what we the listeners feel and know but the observatins are articulated so calmly and clearly that they become real. Altogether the raising of issues and the observations resulting from them were informative, often revelatory and I fear, alarmingly prescient.
Thank you Mr Pitt and the European Conservative.

I was living in Tower Hamlets in the 90s when the Muslim population was burgeoning, and remember the debate about multilingual text on official eg council documents. Unfortunately the weakminded decision was made to include Syhletti Urdu etc thus removing the need for immigrants to learn English and comfortably become ghettoised. One of a number of terrible errors over secularism which in fact started with the Sikh motorcycle helmet exemption law of 1976.

Perhaps. Then add to that gay marriage being forced, Sikhs in Canadian law enforcement and their “decorative” knives, abortion being funded by tax payers, drug legalization and support (safe injection sites), grown men dressed like women cavorting with children, the internet and social media, etc.

    • @arcticmentor7452
      @arcticmentor7452 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

The motorcycle law example is like mixing apples and pears, whether one has a helmet riding a bike or not only affects the person riding the bike. States in the US that don't force helmet use have a requirement of eye protection, as if you get something in your eyes you'll turn into a danger for others.

    • @dominicrooney5638
      @dominicrooney5638 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@arcticmentor7452 no it is a pure matter of principle, either it is voluntary or compulsory for all citizens under the law. If you insist on wearing a turban then don't ride a motorcycle. We don't have a state legal system here in any case on matters such as motoring law. In addition there are consequences for society associated with the costs of treating head injuries not protected by a turban. The main point is that exemptions under the law should not be made on religious grounds, this includes halal and kosher slaughter of animals. The State should be completely secular and neutral.

The more I educate myself on this issue the more I come to the conclusion that the Intifada that started centuries ago with the Arabs leaving the Arabian peninsula and the conquests that followed, is actually still going on. It might have stalled when a strong Europe beat them away from the gates of Vienna, shelved so to speak, but it has been taken up again just with a different approach. Instead of brute force it now uses our own weakness and policies to worm its way in and take over. What happened in Lebanon should be a warning to us all.

The controversial figure of Enoch Powell once said when asked about legal immigration, he answered he was not against immigration into Britain if the immigrant was willing ‘to fight for or play cricket for their new country’, ie adopt Britain as their home. Over the years, so many of the people coming from abroad to make the UK their home have done just that. I wonder how many of the latest flood of muslim immigrants would be willing to do the same?

These things have been happening for years, many years. I remember noticing hints of it 20 to 30 years ago in what I heard from others I knew and things I was seeing socially and politically. Unfortunately it seems the so-called “left” is more radical. Yet, there is not really a left and a right except in a general sense. Even amongst these groups there are some very different ideas that can confuse things. Some would be uncertain because they are on the left leaning more towards the right and vice-versa. In the general sense, just as in a battle, unless there is a united front which is organized against the opposing side it’s doomed to failure. I can see the resistance growing, but is it too little too late? That’s my two cents worth.

    • @arcticmentor7452

The left-right scale is only conceptually interesting when it only applies to collectivism vs. individualism, i.e. 100% tax on the far left vs. 0% tax on the far right, i.e. 0% freedom to the far left vs 100% freedom to the far right. As soon as other attributes are mixed in, nationalism for example, any attempts at using the scale will have exemptions. Also, when the left uses the word nationalism, the concept they actually describe, and are worried about, is supremacy, not patriotism.

Only the gospel has the answer - A modernised Leonard Ravenhill quote from 50 years ago shows the immense power of the gospel -
A century of pseudo-Christianity has only produced broken lives, broken families and broken churches. That in turn has produced a broken society where Satan’s Kingdom advances with impunity and unchallenged every day it produces ever more misery and suffering; however, a handful of heaven-sent young people, full of the Holy Spirit can reverse all that declension in a matter of weeks when God comes in Revival and Awakening as an answer to the prayers of many of His faithful remnant.

I struggle to accept the terminology we are using to describe that what we see in our politics.
At what point does the pendulum arc and complete - that the far left swing to far right? Can we acknowledge that we might have entered an age of a paradigm shift..? Perhaps even consider that history misrepresents left vs right factions?
We might try to think of left vs right under a different set of data points; if the fiscally conservative are served by the authoritarian nature of aggressive leftist ideals, how can we call that simply “leftwing”? Since one would be absent without the other… It seems to misrepresent the energy being played out, doesn’t it?
How might we reconcile, with the fact that the fiscally left leaning are forced to become a strange kind of bedfellow to the socially conservative, and whilst neither of these groups are being represented - and worse, being marginalised - how might this fact be helpful in creating distinction?
How can we just continue to name something that is patently false?
I’ve been trying to sense make out of how leftism departs from tradition when it rides on the coattails of economic enrichment. And if you’re enforcing your cultural ideals onto the rest of your tribe, it appears much like a kind of active [inverse] conservatism - which leads me to think it masquerades as leftist. But is actually a projection of conservatism inverted.

The left has since WWII tried claiming that nazism is right-wing, but it is national socialism, and socialism is collectivist and thus left. The left HAS to be authoritarian as humans are not communist, we are not worker bees, nor ants, we are very individualy distinct. Thus we have to be forced to be socialist, just like Lenin described.
The other aspect here is marxism, which divides the world into oppressor and oppressed, which is NOT the basic premise for human relations. (Are you a "friend" to your friends based on how much you can exploit them? Perhaps if you're s psychopath, but otherwise no.) And when the left starts dividing the world into oppressor/oppressed, anyone in the oppressed group can do anything to the oppressor group, any form of resistance against the systematic oppression is allowed. (How else could the oppressed break free?) This gives rise to such morally defunct situations like the woke mobs celebration of Hamas and Hezbolla's terrorism.
If you really want to dig in to all this and have your confusion cleared up, listen to James Lindsay. It's hard at first, as your confusion most likely comes from the fact that the words don't mean what you think they mean, i.e, they don't mean what they mean to you. Racist for example. To most, it means "someone who believes different races have different worth and should have different staue in society". Which is correct. But when you hear that word in marxist media (BBC/CNN/MSNBC etc) it means the oppressor/oppressed dynamic in a historic context, where a white person is automatically guilty of white sin due to, some real and some perceived, historical grievances.
The same goes with the word science. When used by the marxists, it does not mean "the adherence to the scientific method", as that is a verb, when they use it, they use it as a noun, as in "trust the science". The word then does not describe the concept of the scientific method, it describes the concept of dogma. In the same context, the word scientist/researcher means priest.
This misuse of words is used to create motte and bailey fallacies to block counter arguments and continue spell binding the audience listening. Revealing those tactics to the audience breaks the spell. If you ever argue someone on the left in a public debate, even if there is only 1 person in the audience, always remember that your task is not to convince the leftie of your argument, the task is to make sure that the audience understands how they are being deceived by the fallacies of the leftie.
I wish that this helps you in your search for understanding, merely understanding that you're being deceived by people misusing words is a great first step that you seem to have already started to understand.

13:19 She is absolutely correct and may I add that the leaders that we have today were raised with that mentality, I remember the 90’s when things took a clear turn and I couldn’t quite put my finger on what was happening but it only escalated in 2001 where we were suddenly being censored and called outrageous names for simply questioning the path that we were going down. Our western leaders have forsaken their own people. Tolerance goes both ways and I haven’t seen much tolerance and inclusivity in western minority groups, on the contrary they are exclusionary to a degree that I haven’t seen before. We have got to realize that this has been a failed experiment where everyone is segregated into different groups and have no allegiances to the country that they are in. The West’s ambitions are simply too unrealistic and definitely too premature, this kind of ideology has got to be shared by every country or no country at all. Until the whole world is on par with this mindset it will not work.

7:57 They were and still are jealous of what we’ve created and achieved. In the ME, the West discovered their oil and even invented the machines that uses that oil, they invented plastic that uses the petroleum byproducts, etc. If it wasn’t for the western man none of the immense wealth would have been possible for the Arab world. Even China in its modern form has been built on industrial espionnage, the art of counterfeiting and reverse engineering from the West’s inventions. Africa were the ones who profited most from the collaboration with the West but due to their own racism and mismanagement has run those countries into the ground. BUT YET THEY ARE THE ONES WHO ARE JEALOUS!?

How did Western Liberals get to the point where they simply cannot see these quite obvious things? It's a slow and steady gradual erosion of their reason by accepting simple lies at first because of convenience and inherent bias towards selfish interests, undermining their ability to recognize truth, eventually metastasizing into a pathology from which there is no corrective. The opposite is:
"Those who have their faculties trained by practice to distinguish good from evil". Hebrews 5:14.

    • @arcticmentor7452
      @arcticmentor7452 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

I'd like to add another aspect to this; it is that western liberals seem incapable of distinguishing between attack and defence. They think that if they do not allow anyone to say and do anything, let's say a hypothetical religion sacrificing babies, they are just as intolerant and bad as the person sacrificing the baby.
They seem incapable of defending their own values from being assaulted by people who do not share those values. This basically mean that they have not understood the meaning behind the phrase "you can tolerate anyone but the intolerant", which they believe is a paradox but it is not.
Defending oneself from intolerance is NOT the same thing as being intolerant oneself.

I never see or hear any serious discussion about WHAT IS religion??
I don't mean are you a Christian or Muslim or Buddhist or Atheist?
    I mean - - -
    What IS belief itself??
    What is thought and thinking??
What is this thing we call OUR Self or ego?
What is this thing called Identity??
    What is self awareness??
What does it mean to Observe oneself?
    What is honesty?
    What is Virtue?
    What is TIME??
Are we living constantly in the Past - - because all thoughts are connected to memories - - which are always from the past?
What is knowledge - - not just technical knowledge but 'self knowledge' (how our minds work)?
This should not be a pursuit of 'academics and professors' or such 'authorities' as bishops and imans - - we all have a mind.
We all have the ability to observe ourselves.
We just need the ability to observe with clarity and objectivity.
    What is Pleasure?
    What is hedonism??
It is not good enough to say religion is just childish nonsense.
Nor is it good enough to say that our 'technology' has and will solve all the world's problems.

      Mankind is a religious species.
Man has at all times & everywhere created religions to transcend himself, to give him orientation in Chaos, to give a hierarchy of good and evil.
Christianity has the deepest understanding of human nature and how to bring out the best in us.

Yes, at its best, mankind will take the question of 'what is Life?' seriously.
But unfortunately organised religions quickly degenerated into hierarchy and gobbledegook.
They are in essence just ideologies.
All ideologies are constructs of thought, and thought is always connected to memory.
      Memory is the past.
But Truth is always right now 'In the Present'.
As long as an individual requires 'an authority' to understand themselves, they will never be at peace.
Authority always has the implied chastisement and penalties of disobedience to that authority - - which is essentially fear.
There can never be true understanding when there is fear.
If a person gets right to the bottom of fear, then they will not need any authority of any kind.
They might also discover what is Love.

I have read "Prey" it is an excellent book. Yet, here, if young women do not have anything in common with TS, as Ayaan says, for the reasons she mentioned e.g. billionaire, why did she not also say that young men do not have anything in common with the billionaire Musk when she's doing a comparison about young men and young women voting? Also, as for women turning away from Clinton - we know that 3million more people, presumably 50% of whom were women voters - did vote for Clinton. Clinton lost because of the structure of the Electoral College.
