The explosive effect works on plasma flamer. Put on Flamer Barrel, then put on Pulse Capacitor. You will shoot mini yellow greenish balls that explode. As of the 10/22/24 patch.
I love the assaultron head, personally. It’s not a weapon, it’s more of a tool. I’ve run bloodied for years, and always keep one on me to drop my rads to proc Nerd Rage after dying. Saves me from carrying toxic goo. I bought the imposter sheepsquatch head when it first dropped in the atom shop years ago, rolled -90 weight and use it every few minutes tbh.
I have a memorial at my camp where I keep my formerly explosive Gatling Plasma, Flamer and Harpoon Gun on display. I honestly don't really care how they perform after the update, it's just going to be fun to reforge some ancient relics.

Make it so the plasma explosive effect activates on the hit from the fire don’t just change the projectile to the plasma explosive projectile, they could add the same style of an explosion but in red for flamers, something like a tiny cryo grenade explosion to cryo weapons but I do have to say the range for flamers is absolutely HORRIBLE even worse with the vaporizer nozzle(I guess it does just vaporize all my fuel since it doesn’t even leave the barrel. It’s worse than a bashing minigun in range😭
What about the explosive weapons like the the missle launcher and the hellstorm? It's seems like a stupid question, but I'm flipping through the mods and the numbers don't change so idk if it affects it or not.
Was thinking the same thing, and curious if you have Enforcer perk active if the explosive splash damage will also carry the crippling effect from the perk with the splash damage as well…been holding onto a few good Pepper Shakers for a few years now and glad I did because this might actually be a fun weapon now especially animation wise with the ragdolling effect on enemies🤣
Peppershaker has terrible ammo yield to usage rate, unless they fixed that. Only gauss minigun has worse ammo yield compared to how fast you use the ammo.
@@Junkzillabox I'm willing to hazard a guess that the absolute worst for usage and drop rates is a LMG.... all my LMGs use ultracite just cus it's far more efficient to craft it instead of normal 308 xD But if you rely on drops for it...you can farm 1 week with a hunting rifle...to fire the LMG for about 10 to 15 minutes xD

Pepper is weak.. you are never ammo positive unless you aren't firing the gun at all and allow your teammates to do all the killing for you in ops and expeditions. You shoot like 10-20+ rounds to kill the weakest enemy and you get a chance (not guaranteed) of 4 or 5 ammo rounds you can retrieve. It's a near permanent ammo sink.
Wacky Weapons has been working like this for years even on PlayStation. You can even do projectile overrides and run a handmade with a plasma sniper barrel and 2mm cartridges, etc.

You can see how many projectiles something has at the damage indicator, so for laser guns, the splitter is 5 beams. I really hope explosive works on bows with the poison arrows. I really want to make a "poison gas" type bow
I’m not sure if this question is premature, or I somehow missed it, but were you using Grenadier when you were testing these weapons? I’m just curious if it affects these weapons like it does the ones with explosive in the game now, and if so, would the explosions be bigger or smaller than what we see here?
What I will say is this, even if the explosion on some of these weapons doesn’t add much by way of additional damage, I’m happy for the fact that these weapons will give us Splash Damage and give us more XP and items dropping from enemies we’ve tagged because of it!
A few thoughts come to mind, and most likely, it was just easier for the devs to turn off the effect instead of excluding the mod to be attached to certain weapons. Secondly, you might have to apply the effects in order. Can you only place a reduced weight (3rd star) on a weapon without having the 1st & 2nd star? So, this is the devs being nice, allowing you to put a "place holder mod" on so you can then apply the 3rd star.

the only flamer explosive works on is the regular plasma rifle due to the fact of the pulse capacitor making it shoot projectiles, making the explosion effect possible.

The flamer effect on the Gat Plasma beam splitter mod has been around for months, I even think this changed around the time they got rid of Legacies, many users, myself included, noted this when we check our Explosive gat plasma, then a few months ago I got a TS gat plasma and modded it with the splitter to confirm it was now a flamer 😐
It’s actually been since launch that a Gatling plasma with a splitter has been a flamer. But back with legacy’s the explosive effect overrode that projectile and changed into the carpet bombing device. Most people never realised.

When i saw the update for now picking every legendary perk for guns now and i looked and i saw explosive ammo for energy guns i was like oh f*ck😂 here we go💀
Unfortunately, because explosive mod adds such a small amount of extra damage it is a substantial downgrade from 50 crit, or 50 vhc, or ffr in the elemental ranged weapon secondary effect slot. If you are looking for a tagging weapon, then the splashy explosive effect can be pretty good. Otherwise pretty much of a visual effect w/very little impact.

Legacies were broken and SHOULD have performed as they do now. They aren't watered down, they were fixed. If people needed broken guns that killed events and made them trivial, glad they are gone. I had a few legacies myself back in the day but only used them on private servers. Anyone whining about this, cry some more lol. Glad they got rid of legacies, it ruined a lot.

Energy Explosive will make at least new options among meta heavy, rifleman and commando. Now ... i think Bethesda should continue reworking those Legendary effects, many 1 to 3 star effects are basically scrap because of how underpowered they are.
If you had a lot of legacy’s you will not like this new version. It is a complete reworking of the effect and all the broken problems from before have been fixed.
@@jhwh9876 no it won’t work because the enclave version of the plasma rifle doesn’t have the pulse capacitor as an option for an attachment. It only works with that attachment because it makes it not a flamer anymore and it’s an unintended bug so people are trying to do it quick in case it becomes a legacy weapon. You can’t put an explosive mod on any other flamer because nothing else has pulse capacitor sadly👌🏼

Bethesda NEEDS to add an option to turn off explosive effects caused by other players. Public events like radiation rumble practically blind anyone due to cremator overuse and now we are getting more guns with explosive.
We've been asking for this for a very long time xD xD xD I still have hope that it comes at some point... If you are on pc...there are mods that change the explosive effect and/or shown radius... Wiggle even did a video on it :)
From sept 3rd, The visual explosions have been reduced from grenadier a lot. It won’t be as bad as it now. And the worst offender back then was gat plas with splitter, that’s not a thing now. So don’t worry.

The reason for the small area of effect on the gamma gun was due to using the standard dish instead of the deep dish mod.
Not to be confused with the thin crust mod.

I have an instigating vats accurate last round dmg roll that I use single shot at a time , with a bloodied crusader pistol build it’s very fun ❤
Assaultron head has always been my go to, especially if I’m bloodied and in power armour and need to adjust rads

Explosive bow with poison works on the PTS. It's quite good unless you are fighting robots.

The item needs a 1st and 2nd star in order to have a 3rd star.

As far as I know, it doesn't work.
Cryo explosive disintegrator is something I want to try on the queen.
It works on plasma rifle flamer now with the crazy long range you just have to use mod pulse capacitor 👍🏾👍🏾
Maybe unpopular opinion but I think bullets explode should be a hit scan projectile override like the old days makes it more unique

Put aligned flamer barel and pulse capacitor mods on an explo plasma rifle. Plays almost like the good old legacy explo flamer. :)

The splitter won’t work anymore and the damage is just 20% same as say an explosive fixer. It will be very underwhelming from what you used to have.

Sadly the pepper shaker as explosive is very poor. The damage is split across all projectiles it’s very weak.

Imagine being mad over players who were here before you spent a crap ton of time only to be punished but it's all OK now right? No, that's not how good business works, and I own my own business. Learn something.
Also, I can promise I have more weapons than most people in this game and I'm still OP. I'm just saying, spending a ton of time to trade and then be punished when they could have just fixed them then instead of taking them away. I am fine with them being fixed, they needed it. What I'm not fine with is having stuff taken from me only to be able to put a mod on it and make it a character locked weapon. That's just lame. I've been a player since the first beta, I am allowed to dislike something if I want to.
Just wish there was a way to stop body's from flying away with explosions an annoying troll method.

Yes can be explosive now. Will not be quite as good as before.
Energy Explosive will make at least new options among meta heavy, rifleman and commando.
Now ... i think Bethesda should continue reworking those Legendary effects, many 1 to 3 star effects are basically scrap because of how underpowered they are.
Okay. So with the old legacy weapons, can we just place the explo back on them, or will they revert back to explo?

If you had a lot of legacy’s you will not like this new version. It is a complete reworking of the effect and all the broken problems from before have been fixed.
Why can't we get a red explosion on the heavy laser weapons?! It looks really nice yet only the worse weapon in the game gets it.. the Assaultron head

Yes, but not with the flamer barrel
Plasma rifle works with explosive as long as it isn’t an enclave version and as long as it has a pulse capacitor on it.

@@jhwh9876 no it won’t work because the enclave version of the plasma rifle doesn’t have the pulse capacitor as an option for an attachment. It only works with that attachment because it makes it not a flamer anymore and it’s an unintended bug so people are trying to do it quick in case it becomes a legacy weapon. You can’t put an explosive mod on any other flamer because nothing else has pulse capacitor sadly👌🏼

For explosive to work the weapon has to shoot a projectile.

With the next patch, any special can be on any weapon and it goes to +3 from +1. Specials on armor will be +2.

Back in the day my tse flamer was fun on occasion but it was broken and I’m glad they’re not bringing it back. I used to snipe across the map with my flamer. Was so stupid.
So guessing no Explosive cremators rude. Not being serious as I'm sure it wouldn't work or do anything different.

I'm sure it will do nothing like with the flamer and cryolater. As it's DoT based no since "it's over preforming as Noone got to play with it in the pts"
Two Shot Thirsty Zapper is not really possible in the normal game, you got a currently impossible gun and forgot to highlight it.

Can’t be worse than the cremator. Even when the explosive gat plasmas were around it wasn’t nearly as obstructive as the cremator is.

Bethesda NEEDS to add an option to turn off explosive effects caused by other players. Public events like radiation rumble practically blind anyone due to cremator overuse and now we are getting more guns with explosive.
We've been asking for this for a very long time xD xD xD I still have hope that it comes at some point...
If you are on pc...there are mods that change the explosive effect and/or shown radius...

No one should ever be using a cremator in xp events like rad rum. They are either douchbags or have no idea what they are doing.

From sept 3rd, The visual explosions have been reduced from grenadier a lot. It won’t be as bad as it now. And the worst offender back then was gat plas with splitter, that’s not a thing now. So don’t worry.

They could have. I remember all the know-nothings claiming legacies were unfixable. When you have access to the actual code you can change whatever you want.
