Watching this team is an absolute joy.
If the Friday game hadn't been delayed, it would've been a sweep. No doubt about it. It was SO SATISFYING to see the Phillies get their asses handed to them by the Os damn near three games in a row!😂 People are so smitten by the Phillies, but they're not unbeatable (hell, even the Rockies took two games from them, and the Mets beat them in London for one of the two games). Maybe now teams like the Os who are out here grinding and playing incredible baseball will get the attention and respect they deserve too.
The Phil’s announcers kept saying how many fans they had there. And how it’s “citizen bank park south”. He was throwing out some serious fighting words
The funny thing is that the Philly people aren't going to learn a damn thing from this. Why? Because when the Eagles come to M&T Bank Stadium on December 1 to play the Ravens, all of their media homers are going to call it "Lincoln Financial Field South" and what's going to happen? Lamar, King Henry, and Roquan, just like Adley, Gunnar, and Burnes are going to go out there and kick Philly's asses AGAIN!
What a great weekend of baseball! I don't know if it was just me, but the sound of the ball off Cowser's bat on the homer was phenomenal. I'm also a member of the "worried about the pitching" club. I know we'll add a bullpen arm at some point, but now it may need to be a starter too (c'mon Cade Povich).

If you had told me Losing Means, Wells and probably Bradish as well as Bautista for the entire year last year and we would have the record we have I would have told you were out of your mind. Salute to Mike, Brandon and the staff and down with the yankees!!!!!!!!
My only gripe is how they handled the Braddish situation. He’s an elite talent and needed for the long haul.
It's definitely credit to the pitching coaches and coaching staff overall. They get the best out of every player and instill a "Next Man Up" mentality when the injuries pile up. How else can you explain the Albert Suarez resurgence and the now consistent excellence of Yennier Cano?
Having said that def need to be aggressive to get a solid starter and a top line setup man that can slide into closing if Kimbrel falters again. I'm thinking Hunter Green(SP) and Ryan Pressley or Tanner Scott for bullpen

@thomashamilton2506 yep. If he actually has a slight tear they should've just done the surgery in the off-season so that he was ready for next year.
Exactly and Phillies fans have the balls to say that it doesn’t count that we took 2 out of 3 from them bc of injuries lmao we are pretty inured as well
McDermott is a beast. I have no reservations about letting him pitch in MLB.
If this Bradish injury means anything, it’s that we really need to make it a priority this offseason to resign Burnes. We can’t afford to lose him as well
That will be the first real test of the new ownership group. It's good to be fan friendly and hand out free hats and tickets but Rubenstein and his group will ultimately be judged on how much they're willing to spend.
He's done great. But it's frankly not worth it to sign him, or almost any pitcher, to the type of contract he will command. imho.
@@drewc771 only problem I would see with that is what would that make our starting rotation look like next season? If we lose Bradish to Tommy John, you’re looking at Grayson as the number one but after that no one else is certain.
@@shore-cityfilms In that case, you would likely have Grayson, Kremer, Irvin, Povich, McDermott...maybe Wells.
But my point wasn't that they might not need more starting help. Just that imho, it's not worth it to give a long, giant contract to Burnes.
@@drewc771 Nah, at some point you gotta spend the money to sustain winning. You can't go on shoestring budgets forever and expect to compete against Yanks. Do we really wanna be the Rays North?? I watched Max Scherzer for years with Nats. He's arguably the greatest FA pitcher signing ever. Cole has been great for Yanks. I don't see why Burnes wouldn't be as good as either. He has no history of injury problems and has been very durable. Quite frankly he's much of a sure thing than Snell. A 3-year deal would be ideal but I'd add a year or two if I had to to keep him if Bradish needs TJ which he probably does.

These injuries should press the front office staff to make a few moves at the deadline. I say trade either Conner Norby or Heston Kjerstad for another ace and/or an elite bullpen arm
I don't disagree, but you'll likely have to deal both of them for an actual front line starter. A bunch of teams are going to be looking for controllable pitching.

I worry about Bradish.
Are these pitching injuries preventable that the Orioles have dealt with or just bad luck? Some articles I read suggest the Orioles pitchers are not using proper pitching mechanics. Also, they blamed the pitching coaches and strength and conditioning coaches for the frequent pitching injuries.
Where in the world are you reading this? It’s an epidemic of elbow injuries across baseball, not an Orioles thing
It’s just part of baseball today. The orioles were one of the healthiest pitching staffs.

To me, its the cost of the Ravens shedding the injury bug that consumed them from 2020-2022.

@@LockedOnOriolesback in February he could have had the surgery and the Orioles would have lost him for this season and possibly a month of 2025 , but now they lose him most of this year and most of 2025. Braddish absence will hurt much more in 2025 without Burnes.
