@@yamaFC I think that the mistake here is trying to recommend computers to an “average consumer” when you’re not talking to an average consumer, or indeed speaking as one. So long as people aren’t making a choice they don’t want, everyone’s happy, and why mess with that?
I’ve been a windows user my whole life, only ever having experienced a handful of used and outdated apple hardware. I just recently got a new M1 MacBook Pro 13 to use as my main computer and I have to say I am blown away by just about every aspect of the laptop. I’m able to work on Canon Raw lite files at half quality with color correction layers on it using the premier bro beta. Something I haven’t been able to do even on my huge 27” iMacs. Read my entire comment before you flame me for "hating" on the M1 or Apple silicon in general. Not sure I like the fact it lost to an 1165G7 which is already a slow CPU in a synthetic benchmark. I'm sure there are optimizations on the M1 chip that makes it faster at certain tasks than the 1165G7 that isn't being used in Cinebench but for the vast majority of operations, the 1165G7 still edges it out(Not that I would buy an 1165G7 laptop either) That being said, it's not all bad. The fact that Mac OS is natively running on this thing just makes it an over all better work horse than the alternatives for work flow(at least for the stuff this thing can run). The enclosed mac ecosystem means you don't have to worry about stuff going wrong, there's nothing you have to fiddle with or troubleshoot(at least not anywhere near as much as Windows; don't get me started on Linux) There's an appeal to catered experiences that can't really be conveyed with words that people outside of those catered experiences would understand; Mac OS is no different. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying people should go out and buy the next best Intel or AMD based system, there are obviously other things about the M1 and the M2 macs that make them worthwhile. In my opinion, if Apple made these MBA and MBP upgradable like most* intel/AMD based laptops(giving us SODIMM slots and an M.2 slot or two), this wouldn't even be a fair comparison. At that point, I would hop on the Apple bandwagon so fast you'd think I was an Apple fanboy or something.

Retailers only have access to the lower end models at first to slow the demand on the product venders. (Ram, SSD’s...) once everyone (vendors and apple) catch up with the demand they will allow retailers to get in on the fun. Hope that helps bud!

Make a back to college/school set up/accessories for MacBook M1 pro 13!
I watched your clips about the new M1 for Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, and Mac mini since the beginning of December 2020.
Finally, I got one Macbook Pro 13" 2020 M1!
I never had Macbook before but to have 20 hours battery and not hear the fan is wonderful! 👍
I’m getting mine in three weeks, so excited!!
ok,,, i'm getting giddy...
Read my entire comment before you flame me for "hating" on the M1 or Apple silicon in general.
Not sure I like the fact it lost to an 1165G7 which is already a slow CPU in a synthetic benchmark.
I'm sure there are optimizations on the M1 chip that makes it faster at certain tasks than the 1165G7 that isn't being used in Cinebench but for the vast majority of operations, the 1165G7 still edges it out(Not that I would buy an 1165G7 laptop either)
That being said, it's not all bad.
I got the MacBook Air M1
It's also great right?🥺
Everyday Dad told it's the best laptop of 2020
I'm still deciding if I want the air or the pro, do you recommend the air? or should I go for the pro?
@@lucadicostanzo338 it took a lot of weeks for me to decide between air and pro
My advice: if you have the money now....go for the pro
Or just go for the air...
Done
@@imperial-gamer Thanks!
@@lucadicostanzo338 what did you choose bro?
@@imperial-gamer I’m still deciding cus it’s a $400 difference between the two, I’m leaning more toward the air tho. I do have some time to decide tho, I’m gonna order it in April for my birthday, thanks for ur health bro
I bought the MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2020, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports) at the time it came out as I needed a computer and couldn’t wait for the M1, my old laptop was dying.
Can’t wait mine to arrive!
I’m still waiting for mine to be shipped. Ordered On 12/6. The waiting game is strong on this one.
Mine too I can’t wait.🥰
Just ordered the 8 core air! Cant wait
Can you do a MacBook Pro M1 13” 10 months later follow up???
I did end up buying it and can’t believe how quick it is considering it’s only 8gb ram.
RAM is not speed. CPU and CPU clock plus ssd are speed
@@lnk6098 so is 8gb of ram and 256 ssd storage enough for web browsing and some video watching? I may be doing some video/photo editing so i just wanted to know if you have recommended specs.
@@mustafabarre8922 if u r not going to Do extreme rendering its absolutely enough.
@@lnk6098 thank you, I appreciate it!
Still watching this but I feel you on the fan noise! I have an HP for work and also just got a new MacBook Pro. I didn’t know it had this silent fan type thing and was shook my first night when I didn’t hear ANYTHING. And the laptop never even got warm! Drastic contrast to my work laptop that sounds like it’s going in overdrive to cool down sometimes. It’s a feature I never knew I needed
Just patiently waiting for mine to come in 🙂
I was able to score one of these base models for 600 and I love it
My concern with the Pro over the Air is the sharp edges. I had an older Pro years back and it was always an annoyance. Obviously I use the laptop keyboard all the time and the builtin trackpad. Any thoughts? By the way I have the Air for my wife already, the M1.
M1 pro or air? Which is better?
@@sidhantraghuvanshi1838 I have stuck with my M1 Air even after the M2 Air update. I would recommend the Air
@@Inspectergadget69 ordered the m1 today
@@sidhantraghuvanshi1838 Good onya. You really can't go wrong with either the M1 13 Pro or the M1 Air. I personally like the wedge shape. It is an amazing computer. A customer of mine bought an M1 Air a few months ago. He has no idea what he bought, he just bought it. He has lots of money but not really into computers as such. The point is if you buy something after lots of deliberation and you understand and appreciate what you are buying...it is something you will appreciate every time you use it for quite a long time to come. Enjoy.
Dude your page has been so helpful to me since I've been considering getting a new macbook pro for like a year. I was stuck deciding between the 13" m1 or the 16" Intel & these m1 videos have helped make my decision.
I have no idea why I’m watching this on the screen of the same device 😂
Enjoying this on my M1 MacBook Air. Both your M1 MacBook Air and this MBP video are appreciated! Thank you for your great content.
Watching this on my M1 Macbook Pro, thanks to you :)
Nice!
Funny enough, just got my new M1 MacBook Pro and logged into TH-cam and your video was the first I saw! This MacBook is a beast by the way!
Been looking forwards to this!
Nice! Hope it was worth the wait!
You just sold me on the battery life. I am a Realtor and have had to use my phone when my laptop died. It looks unprofessional. So I got an IPad but I am thinking of going to go get the MacBook 13. Thank you.
I got mine for Christmas with 16GB ram! Love it so far.
Edit: Video Idea- The best apps for the M1 Macbooks. My personal favourites are Pixelmator Pro, TG Pro and Disk Diet.
Oh that is a good suggestion thanks!
Just ordered my MacBook Pro 13 M1 with 16 GB of Memory and 1TB of storage. I mainly upgrade from my 2015 MacBook Pro for more memory.

Purchased a maxed out 13" MacBook pro and maxed out 12.9" M1 iPad Pro (2TB). Don't even need that much power but hoping they last me 10 years at least since they are my first Apple purchases.
Unless you need one *now* , I would also wait as there's a rumor on a m1x coming out in March :D
I am waiting for that one! Apparently they will also announce a 14 inch MacBook Pro. But I’m not sure tho
Hello from May 2021, lol!
@@andmicbro1 😄👋 Hello!
Best review I've seem of this laptop. It's the first one I see where the reviewer is talking only about this laptop and not comparing side by side with the Air and the 16" pro.
I’m watching this on my m1 mac pro 13” lol!
Thats awesome!
Same. Not sure why
I just bought one today! It’s my main for work trips(pre Covid) can’t wait to start traveling again!
Ur the best TED 🔥🔥 love from India
Me too from India
Thanks so much!
The only reason to get this over the Air is the better battery life....and the touchbar.
...and microphones, speakers, max brightness, fan, bigger trackpad. All in all it’s a little better in every way.
Most of the retailers don't offer 13" M1 16 gb memory 512 gb- I wonder why?
Retailers only have access to the lower end models at first to slow the demand on the product venders. (Ram, SSD’s...) once everyone (vendors and apple) catch up with the demand they will allow retailers to get in on the fun. Hope that helps bud!
I think it is a better investment for your $$ if you are using it more than a couple of years...
MacBook Pro is good but still, you gave me no reason not to choose MacBook air over pro. What you said can be done with MacBook air.
8:33 since you want us to: who dumped you in the end: client or company?😂
Video suggestion:
TH-cam as a hobby paid me ???
What I’d like to see is when you started TH-cam as an LLC, early/later in journey. What was the process like and how a hobby, seems like almost a full time gig at this point, has almost allowed you to going full time?
This video actually inspired me to make a video on why you should buy the M1 MBA! Thanks Gary!
I have the M1 MacBook Air base model, and it's super fast and the battery is impossible to drain. I want to see a M1 MacBook Air vs M1 MacBoook Pro to see the benefits of each.
I am also looking for this video...
You recommend every apple product. It’s hard to take your arguments seriously.
That's why you should listen to his "why" and see if those apply to you, hehe
Got mine at Christmas and I'm very pleased so far. Only gripe I can think of is the battery life not being as good as advertised. I switched from Chrome to Safari and seem to be getting 8 hours of solid TH-cam viewing at full brightness, on the battery. Is that the same for everyone else?
"neo-awesome" welp I've gotta start using that word now, because it's just such a _neo-awesome_ word!

What Would you suggest m1 MacBook Pro or Mac Mini basing on Performance?

My (2017) Mac air has gotten me through my bachelors and masters. I’m now starting my journey into ux/ui design and I want to upgrade… I’m going to trust you and go with the 13 pro and not 16 ..
everything you just said was correct. I got my MacBook Pro in on Monday this week. the only thing that I miss from my previous MacBook Air which was a 2015 model, is the light on the apple logo. I know it's such a tiny little thing, but I miss that. I always appreciated how that logo lights up. and they scrapped that a few years ago by now on pro models and I'm bummed out about it.
First I wanted the Pro, then you said just get the Air, now you say get the Pro... so which is it? I'm lost!
Switched from my old air to this new beast and oh boy do I love it
Just bought an open box MacBook Pro m1 from Bestbuy with a “satisfactory” grade 8gb/256gb for $975 +tax with 3 cycle on the battery. I think I got a steal!
I’m getting my M1 replaced because the trackpad stops working and I need to restart my Mac twice before it starts working again. It’s so annoying.
Love how relatable you are, man. TH-camr with the office job. Impressed by your motor hah keep it up.
These videos really get me through the slow days of quarantine life. Even if there isn’t a MacBook in my near future (mainly because I just got the amazing iPad Pro + Magic Keyboard a few months ago), I’m still enjoying the content. It has become a part of my daily routine to check three youtubers in the afternoon... MKBHD, Unbox Therapy, AND The Everyday Dad. It’s getting to the point where I’m seriously thinking about switching my major to a more tech focused field. So THANK YOU, I always appreciate watching content of people who clearly love what they do!
Am loving the reviews you do....but The more I watch the reviews the more confused I get. I’m planning on getting a MacBook for the first time...currently doing bits of music production and editing in my house and MB seems like it’s the way to go. Can an 8GB RAM and 512GB MBP handle the tasks or should I spend extra for the higher features...Music producers/editors out there?
Got my M1 MacBook Pro 13 with 16gb and 512ssd two weeks ago. First Mac. This. thing. is. awesome. Like Buttah.
Thats awesome!
my MacBook Pro is taking forever to deliver so I’m binge watching all the videos about it lol
Can’t wait for ours. Arriving shortly 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Got the 13 MacBook Pro, 16 gigs of ram, 1 terabyte ssd, Final Cut Pro and pro logic.
Love your review. Thanks for all the great info.
I got mine one week ago. And that's sooooooo impressive... It's just Wooooooooooooooowww...!!!
I personally bought the iPad Air 4 with magic keyboard and pencil. I prefer the flexibility and believe a touch screen to be necessary. The M1 would only be a choice if they decide put touchscreens on their notebooks, which I doubt they will do since they have their iPads. The new cpu is obviously a big plus as well.
