nice inspo! I really like denim shirts in terms of texture, the little details, and the medium-light blue colour, but tend to find them a bit too warm for shirt-wearing environments. Chambray seems like a lighter alternative in a similar vibe (if only I could find one with a good fit!)
Yes, chambray is great for warmer weather, though there are some extra lightweight denim shirts out there. For fit, honestly I've started getting everything tailored at my dry cleaner's, I gave up on finding the perfect fit and now all my stuff fits much better! Every new product costs more though because I factor in the cost of tailoring haha
For me Nick, Ralph Lauren is my favorite all time designer of classic clothing, that rarely goes out of style... Loaded with his stuff and have a store not far away.... Also never wear a jean jacket (or jean shirt) with blue jeans, only khakis or other colored jeans, you got it....! Enjoyed another fine video....Greg
I prefer wearing denim jackets/jeans in the fall/winter months. My favorite look is the all black Canadian tuxedo now in my 30’s. In my teens-20’s I preferred the light wash denim though
Thank you for this video! It's hard to find Heritage Style videos that aren't just about selvedge denim. If they do venture into shirts, it's just white T-shirts and flannels. I'd still like to see more variety, but this is a good start.
this summer I'm doing a bunch of loafer stuff if that helps! I'm trying to come up with an idea for linen things too but product roundups take forever to put together!
@@Stridewise Sounds good! But don't overlook long-sleeve shirts in your linen round up (that's all I wear). Madras fabric, too, in addition to linen (hey, even Sugar Cane uses it). Boat shoes in addition to loafers. Keep up the good work! I look forward to the video.
my video on styling them! th-cam.com/video/qCCi7facBiA/w-d-xo.html I've been wearing Thursday and Taylor Stitch's jackets a lot, they're not too short so I like em
Typically wear my denim shirts in the summer with some chinos or lighter coloured jeans (tan or green, rarely white). I do occasionally rock the denim tuxedo with my jacket though ;)
Talk about a timely video. Had already set out last night (for today) a denim shirt cut to be worn untucked, mid-brown chinos, a white t, and cream colored chuck 70s. Check video, how’d I do. Solid it seems. Nice.
I ware the sport jacket with it all the time. And haha yeah I like my Levi's ones. They do have some nice ones but some are really underwelming. They had last year line made of karhara denim. They were excellent
Levi's can still surprise you, yeah, but when doing broad recommendations I'd rather go with a brand that gets more shots on target. tweed, denim western, chinos is my uniform lately i'm obsessed
@@Stridewise not long ago I got my first Harris tweed sport coat and I'm over the moon with it. It is all I hoped for and more. The shift of colors from what is obvious on sun vs room or shade is incredible. If you didn't jet you could try that route. I'm curious to get some Donegal tweed in future too as that one seems to be more obscure and rare
Denim is a twill fabric with a warp and weft, jeans are the particular style of pants/trousers. Typically any twill fabric that is black/indigo, even some other colours is considered denim. Pants can be considered jeans if they have the 5 pocket design typical of old denim jeans, some companies label their products jeans, even if they’re made of mole skin or corduroy as they have the typical 5 pocket design. That’s my (as most peoples) take anyway.
@@aungmon4592 Mark gave a good breakdown! Shorter version: denim is the fabric, jeans are pants made from denim. There's a bit more to it than that (jeans have rivets, etc) but that's the basic summary
i really like the advice in here, at times it sounded like my mind narrating as i consider my options in selecting a wardrobe.

Great vid! Thanks for mentioning the brands too!
What Henley do you recommend- I see that’s your go-to for a lot of fits!

All black, that's a good angle! I definitely see that breaking up/heading off the Canadian tuxedo stereotype. I'm very intrigued now haha

Great video! Denim shirts are pretty much part of my daily uniform. Was that an Alejandro Jomar cameo? He has a great channel too.
it was! he's in a couple of upcoming videos

I wore a denim tuxedo for a halloween cowboy costume once and was surprised how much I liked it haha

What do you think of a western shirt over a thicker sweater in cooler weather? I have one that is too big alone or with just a tee
the rules of layering say an outer layer can't be thinner than the inner layer so i'm not sure about this 'thicker sweater' idea!
I like the RL button down denim
I love my western button shirt. I like them dark. I got one that’s almost white that I have retired :(
Haha if you're a large I'd consider buying it, faded-from-real-actual-wear denim is the best
Good stuff
thanks man, this video was a stupid amount of work
Good video thanks
Thanks man this one took ages to do
I will try some of those combos this week, thanks Nick. It's an old Polo Denim Shirt.
let me know how it goes!
Are denim and jeans the same?

White denim, with raw selvedge denim shirt is 100% the best way to style a denim shirt
