This was my first war, and your ARM regiment was probably the only reason I had hope after fighting at Mercy’s Wail, then walking all the way from our last homebase to join the southeast push after we lost all of our supplies, ammo, rifles, you name it. When I finally got there, I was sort of surprised at how friendly you all were in the first and second counter attack as I’m used to games with clans and regiments being really toxic. This was a nice change of pace.
If you like that kind of environment and community then Colonials is the faction you should stick with. Meanwhile, Warden regiments shun new players and randoms on their own team.
Hey, Nice video! Thanks for all the 77th shout outs. I have been saying that once you guys get your footing, you will be very effective. Like every game it has its learning curve. Since we are normally on the west is good to see that the clans on the east are pushing forward and fighting the good fight. If on 79 you guys need a hand or anything, feel free to hop by our normal channels or ping someone in game. Cheers!
DREDCLAN went against them in the famous tommy tank it was so much fun! We got pinned down at a bridge from a tiny light tank later known to us as tommy
I remember helping a backline operation to break Sanctum and White Chapel. What a beautiful turnaround. EDIT: Oh hey, I also built up a lot of those IJ defenses. Almost forgot it was the same war.
Can’t thank you enough for recommending this game to me. First day playing it I met a few guys who added me to their regiment, and we’ve been on some crazy adventures hijacking scrap transports, ambushing logi convoys, and flanking enemy offensives. Had some super fun times in just the first 10 hours of play. Thanks a ton.
I fought in so many of those places when they fell, I was in Sitaria for a couple days, that was when it was under siege, was feeling a bit burnt out at that point, so take a few days off to find the map mostly ours, hats off to those I fought with and those I didn't
I had a blast providing infantry support for you and w4sted. Thanks for providing a great launching point for getting into the game. I ended up flanking those two tanks at the end and I sticky bombed twice and killed one of them

you will stay as medic forever, because nobody will allow you to drive a tank or something if you not a steamer or "veteran player". community of this game is extremely toxic
@@doodiezgrandpa6520 What? That might have been true a while ago but now there are more tanks than people. Anone can use one, just needs to be late war
Been thinking in buying this game, since I love the idea, the concept and the visuals... but I'm wondering if it's worth it joining alone and play it in short sessions..
Unfortunately the morale of the Wardens has been completely shot. What little hope we had of winning last war was shredded, and that was after burning all our midnight oil keeping fronts built and supplied, we still lost due to a lack of mid-endgame tech we could reliably use without hoping someone abandoned a goblin Ballista. We knew if we didn't win in 8-10 days of war start, we were finished, and you guys turned around an almost victory overnight. As you can probably tell from this war, most clans are sitting out and not planning on any unified involvement until the devs give us at minimum something that can match the Balista, or our smoke back.
I'm real curious about the Ballista. I don't remember even seeing any in 77 till after we reclaimed half the map as seen in this video. I know its capable of bunker busting but its range is well inside standard base defense AT range and every time I've seen clans pull one its died. 77 the field guns we're king. Whats the most OP late tech for the Collies? Is it out LT? or assault tank? Seems like organized field guns can hard stop those.
@@CaptainShack the ballista is extremely good at bunker busting and can 1 shot AT turrets. The problem is that a lot of the people who crew it aren’t very good at using it. The most OP late tech is the Falchion + ballista combo. The falchion costs about 1/2 of an LT and is better than it, and the ballista is the best anti structure in the game. Field guns are effective, but have only been in the game for a single war.
@@CaptainShack The Collies' ballista is why the Wardens don't win a war after about 11-12 days. The thing can clear a concrete reinforced BB that took a week to build in a single low pop night, and the Wardens don't have an equivalent or usable alternative. This pushes the Wardens on the defensive after they are teched, and you never conquer from the defensive without a good offensive push being viable.
Its not so much that the Ballista is overpowered. The problem is it fills a specific niche that is extremely unbalancing if only one side has access to it.
Bought this game forever ago, but was never able to get into it. You might be changing my mind, liking the co-op community it seems to foster. Thanks for the video!
If you left the truck for them to take, you could have scared them with some damage, then nocked ‘em out when they got in the truck and tried to escape. Some sort of crowd control.
I know the wardens had AT infantry (with anti-tank rifles), but since you guys have the Kranesca-a tank with a very high speed boost, it probably would’ve been a good idea to rush pst the Silverhands and block off their retreat. Even if you lost a tank in the process. They would’ve started to panic and would’ve probably started to focus on the tank on the rear rather than the two up front. Even if they didn’t, you’d have a good spot behind them and could put shells straight into their ass. Or at the very least, give them a hard time to get out of there. They don’t have great turning speeds so it wouldn’t be too easy for them to turn around when they’re being confronted from both sides. A light tank or two is definitely worth a trade against two Silverhands :) even if you lost all three, you would technically lose more in terms of materials but you would win in terms of overall value and firepower.
This war was my first and I played as the wardens. I started playing by the time the wardens were on the defensive. I only played in two battles, the defence of Iron's end in the Wasteland, and that was a literal maginot line with bunkers and stuff and at times we had no supplies yet we held, but I don't know how we lost the battle there, and a small offensive up the Blackroad in the Lynn of Mercy, which was somewhat succesful, but a standstill and a bloodbath. Both places were horrible to fight in, especially in the Wastelands, as it felt more of a last stand with a couple of pushes towards an enemy than an actual battle. Best game I've ever played.
man this was a fun war, me and a buddy hauled a warden fild cannon from half way across the map as a thrphy from what we called: Operation Return to Sender. We called it that cause it was mainly fuled by stolen warden equepment mainly about 300 stolen warden 40mm and 68mm shells that fueled our counter attack. It was a blast overall and i can't wait till they wardens pick themselves up and we can get back to a good fight!
Not too hard to get into the game. Pick a faction, pick a front line to spawn in. Grab a rifle and 2 mags, and go shoot some blueberries/collies. Learn as you go. Ask people around how to do things. Logi players will ALWAYS be welcome to explain how loging works.
@@CaptainShack That's how several pre-WW2 tanks worked. Big cannon in the hull. Small cannon in the turret because there's much less space in there. See M3 Lee, M3 Grant, Char b1 bis
As a warden that plays quite a bit of tank crewman I can say that the SH us truly remarkable. Once me and other crewmates used a SH to harass the collies and we ended up destroying 11 Lt, 3 DT, 2 CV and some other misc vehicles until we got backed into a corner by 4 DT and got taken out. We were alone with only our tank
I absolutely love this game and the videos that you make explaining what’s happening but I would love a little bit more of a storyline where you follow it like a sort of newscaster and you could have your gameplay spliced in
Started playing as a warden after seeing @theXPgamers video. Started at the beginning of 78 and it was short. But I will say that I laugh every time I see the pop up that captain shack causes excessive friendly fire.
Honestly i joined too late in the war as i was playing something else at the time, but this game is amazing in the sense that EVERYTHING matters, back in the open beta days where respawns wasn't really an issue since the map was just one hexagon you just ran from one side to the other and fought with tooth and nail for days on end, and during those times supplies mattered more than any one soldier or tank, people would run in and grab inventories full of weapons and ammo from both factions and run them back to their respective bases, just so everyone could have the ammo and equipment necessary to fight. nowadays its actually impressive how you can have several convoys move supply from the back corners of the world map to the front line and it's a respected duty in the game and not just shit upon by players that run in and die just to expect a new fresh set to be ready for them when they respawn. quite enjoy the video, although a bit salty over the loss for wardens but it's all fun and games at the end of the day
Those Silverhands are nasty to deal with, and you cant really duel them with the light tank because of that big ass stationary 68 they have. If they have a competent crew I've had entire tank lines get wrecked by them. I found the best way to deal with them is to bait them with one light tank and then try and swarm them from multiple sides while in the ideal situation you have either a light tank or the Spatha box them. Silverhands got that chunky front guns and armor but if you can out maneuver them and box them in then it's a done deal. Its how Able Company and the ODST regiment kept breaking them up at Oarbreaker, just by rushing them and cutting out the straggler or slow tanks until their moral just crumbles. Also the Spatha is your best friend, doesnt get the speed boost the light tank gets but it has a higher armor value to fight the Silverhands and if you handmake the Spathas in a garage you get a 20% damage bonus on that 40mm which is oh so spicy. Keep up the amazing work you ARMCO boys do, you've been a real boon to not only the server but the community in general.
So far the best way to deal with the Silverhand is to just outnumber it with Falchions, or outrange it with the LTD. It is good at brawling but not good enough to fight 3 tanks at once
Just started a few days ago in foxhole, and the community is amazing, was just messing around at the front when some guy asks "who wants to learn how to build stuff?" you may start to find random fox holes all over the map. back at base a few hours before that i was mining up for bmats to make a truck when someone wandered in with a gulag of new starts teaching them how to build a bus with about a dozon people with hammers helping out, yes i know you can only have a max of 3 people doing anything but its the thought that counts, and the bmats.
68 is always at the bottom and if you want to know why its because from balancing reasons haveing a 68mm moving and rotating around is VERY VERY OP so thats how you can remind yourself of what the gun is. also the reason this is very important is cause you can dodge the 68mm if you skilled enough
Tbh I haven't played foxhole but I absolutely love the realism of the game and the IRL life moments of combat like the fear of surrendering and moral Also love the ww2 equipments in the game
His Experience: a epic war effort. My experience: be confused, spawn at the front alone, take some rifle (whatever is there), find the combat zone, learn that its again a extremely tight choke point (a bridge), get shot from offscreen, repeat, eventually give up and come back in a few months
Me and a crew took on a Silverhand at a bridge in Oarbreaker with a Kranesca, not sure how we did it but we somehow disabled em letting our infantry HE their asses. Remeber lads, no such thing as a "friendly" mine
Dam I was fighting in Marban hollow over the main bridge there and that was harsh fighting, the wardens kept rushing us with tanks and arty and wave after wave of infantry
by war 78 i ended up using the Mortar halftrack alot more and that thing is really good artillery. Want to know where the enemy is? Throw a flare. Infantry a big issue? Shrapnell Bunkers? High explosive
@@davidty2006 yeah that is what we were doing but what is a little funny is that we were meant to be the combat engis but just ended up on the mortar halftrack for that whole op haha
Hey guys love your videos I just got the game but I'm in another regiment for the wardens the latest war was awesome to me I was running through artillery barrages it was awesome but idk if you guys will go wardens or not but mine is the 503rd
I've noticed something of a trend with the way the wars seem to be covered. It might just be your experiences, but the Wardens push hard in the beginning, but invariably, the Colonials make a comeback about a third or half way thru and take it. The Wardens seem to get trashed if they don't just crush it within the first push, but I could be wrong.
Some of my friends had played this game prolly a year ago when it first came out. I was like, meh, kinda cool, but not really my thang. You have, almost singlehandedly, gotten me to buy this game.
This my theory as to what happened: The Wardens pushed way too far, way too fast, and they did not build up their gains. They wanted revenge for War 75. Meanwhile, the Colonials had been playing normally up until this point. What does that mean? Colonials tend to be a lot more individualistic than Wardens, in that they do keep individual stockpiles for the purpose of supplying themselves, and preventing alts and noobs from sabotaging their logi. Due to the fact most stockpiles were personal, individual Colonials had emotional investment in evacuating the supplies they had back to safe territory. Eventually, as these same people began to give up on the war, they had the decency to at least release their reserve stockpiles. It just so happened just as people were abandoning the war and releasing their stockpiles, others like yourselves were rallying. What this means is, while the Wardens had exhausted all their resources to gain all that territory, the Colonials had managed to evacuate most of their resources, and did not get to use them yet. Which left more than enough to counter attack. The Wardens, rather accept another long war, then gave up. If there's a justification for private property, it's that it gives you a personal investment in the success of your nation. And if you find out you won't be able to keep your possessions anyway, you can give it to your friends to throw at your mutual enemies.
I can tell you from the Warden side there was never a lack of Resources, refineries at the back line were piling up with 16-20K of Bmats and 2k worth Emats etc. I did what I could to send them to frontline factories, but nothing much else I can do as a one-man logi operation. what I did notice though was a lack of anyone utilising the factories especially at Mercy's Wail, that had two whole factories and the time I was on during the start of the collie counter attack they were empty of any queued orders, no-one had put any orders for even something like shirts or Garrison supplies, I suspect they mostly pulled all their equipment out from the seaport, which was only supplied by the backline factories. Another two factors is ofcourse, the lack of people on the Wardens side that live in the Asian timezones so when Europe and America goes to sleep, the Asian communities are up and about and facing minimal resistance (Don't get started on any of the racial discriminaton claims, I suspect like most things said by either side, it's overblown). The second factor is the current 'meta' that Wadrens must push and win within the first 10 days of a war before the Colonial faction can get access to their objectively better late-game tech, such a meta pushes the mentality that Wardens must continously push and assault within those critical 10 days, any attempt to lockdown a capture area beyond the fortifications built to take it or to build defences in the 'secured' backline is seen as a waste of resources because the faction is currently in the all-or-nothing meta mindset.
I'm just a motherboard, a ram stick and 13$ away from playing this game. I'm counting the days and watching these vids while I'm saving money. Please keep making them
i do wanna say this, collies won the war as devs were on their side and wardens had low pop of players including new players just getting the game as collie had veterans plus a spy collie was confirmed to have messed with the wardens tech tree causing the defeat

So you buy the game, and come to this hell cuz none warned u haha :D i've spent 180 hours in two months before i gave up, all these issues and the way devs laugh to people, are contemptuous towards people asking to devs to fix these issues.. i'm gone, as many players i know. Maybe i'll come back, but surely not if devs dont finally consider players' feedbacks
@@AquaAyaya Wow that sucks. I hope the game is fixed soon then.
5:30 got that backwards the 40mm is the turret, 68mm is the hull gun
This was my first war, and your ARM regiment was probably the only reason I had hope after fighting at Mercy’s Wail, then walking all the way from our last homebase to join the southeast push after we lost all of our supplies, ammo, rifles, you name it. When I finally got there, I was sort of surprised at how friendly you all were in the first and second counter attack as I’m used to games with clans and regiments being really toxic. This was a nice change of pace.
If you like that kind of environment and community then Colonials is the faction you should stick with. Meanwhile, Warden regiments shun new players and randoms on their own team.
@@stingylaad2739 I mean, ig it's one of those things where they look on players having a skill issue because they only just start playing the game
I bought this game 6 months ago but it seemed overwhelming so I didn't start it. This video helped a lot! Thanks
I remember helping a backline operation to break Sanctum and White Chapel. What a beautiful turnaround.
EDIT: Oh hey, I also built up a lot of those IJ defenses. Almost forgot it was the same war.
I was hoping for more of this all week! You're the reason I got the game and it was well worth it thank you!
I bought this game two days before the war was going to end and I’m having so much fun
Thanks a ton.
omg it was so fun playing as the colonials this war. It was really fun and very close!
I ended up flanking those two tanks at the end and I sticky bombed twice and killed one of them
never count out armco, they'll always come back
Your first vid in this series made me buy this! Loving it! I main a medic (its easy to be helpful that way) 3hours and our front was pushed back. Keen to see where its at after work ;) would love the chance to join you guys as the Australian division, while you guys are asleep
you will stay as medic forever, because nobody will allow you to drive a tank or something if you not a steamer or "veteran player". community of this game is extremely toxic
@@TheDownrankTrain precisely
nice video shack!
just want to point out 1 error, the 40mm gun on the silverhand is the top one, the lower front facing gun is 68mm
Speaking of comebacks, I hope to see you more in Foxhole, Captain. Been watching you since the early Space Engineers days.
I was there when we won, boy was the party hard on the ears.
TheXPGamers, its also based Char B1 bis French super heavy tank.
Around 60 tonnes.
Silverhand is also based Char B1 bis but in difference of cannons.
man this was a fun war, me and a buddy hauled a warden fild cannon from half way across the map as a thrphy from what we called: Operation Return to Sender. We called it that cause it was mainly fuled by stolen warden equepment mainly about 300 stolen warden 40mm and 68mm shells that fueled our counter attack. It was a blast overall and i can't wait till they wardens pick themselves up and we can get back to a good fight!
"The infantry are standing on the mines to highlight where not to drive" Yep. Sounds about right.
It started with savages o7
you are the reason i got the game due to your previous vid. I was in the war and made great friends. I dont regret anything
Some new player tutorials would be much appreciated!
That's a fairly good beginner guide.
Not too hard to get into the game. Pick a faction, pick a front line to spawn in. Grab a rifle and 2 mags, and go shoot some blueberries/collies.
Learn as you go. Ask people around how to do things. Logi players will ALWAYS be welcome to explain how loging works.
Btw you got the cannons backwards, the top is the 40mm, the 68mm anti tank cannon is the one fixed on the hull.
So the turret is the 40? Thats odd.
Yup. As Swill stated. 68mm is the fixed. The Silverhand is functionally a frontline brawler and has amazing DPS
@@CaptainShack yes. Though the 68mm has a 5m shorter range.
@@CaptainShack That's how several pre-WW2 tanks worked. Big cannon in the hull. Small cannon in the turret because there's much less space in there.
See M3 Lee, M3 Grant, Char b1 bis
@@CaptainShack how its odd XD
Fighting the Silverhand reminds me of Tigers fighting Shermans. A lot of Shermans were going to go down before the Tiger would.
As a member of a partisan regiment, it’s always neat to see these massive battles.
Was a shame that I missed this war but not much I can do about a shift in work schedules. :(
I was hoping wardens would manage a push back like we did and make a real war of 78
But then, if we win 79 and 80 too then the stats will look more even for the game at 40 wins each and a longest streak of 6 on each side
Keep up these videos Captain Shack, love watching them !!!
Great content yet again Captain Shack, thanks man! 🍻
Your experience with the silverhand must be how Sherman operators felt while fighting a Tiger.
I absolutely love this game and the videos that you make explaining what’s happening but I would love a little bit more of a storyline where you follow it like a sort of newscaster and you could have your gameplay spliced in
This war was straight up Operation Barbarossa in a video game but will a little less war crimes.
Started playing as a warden after seeing @theXPgamers video. Started at the beginning of 78 and it was short. But I will say that I laugh every time I see the pop up that captain shack causes excessive friendly fire.
Honestly i joined too late in the war as i was playing something else at the time, but this game is amazing in the sense that EVERYTHING matters, back in the open beta days where respawns wasn't really an issue since the map was just one hexagon you just ran from one side to the other and fought with tooth and nail for days on end, and during those times supplies mattered more than any one soldier or tank, people would run in and grab inventories full of weapons and ammo from both factions and run them back to their respective bases, just so everyone could have the ammo and equipment necessary to fight.
nowadays its actually impressive how you can have several convoys move supply from the back corners of the world map to the front line and it's a respected duty in the game and not just shit upon by players that run in and die just to expect a new fresh set to be ready for them when they respawn.
quite enjoy the video, although a bit salty over the loss for wardens but it's all fun and games at the end of the day
Do go on! I would love to keep watching!
I’m loving these Fox Hole videos
Love watching a tank shell hit a truck and not explode.
I remember seeing you guys at Callahan I think! Super fun war!
I love your content on this game! I really wish i could play this with you! Keep up the great content. Thanks
The silver hand is basically an m3 lee but squashed in somehow
I'd say a more german Char B1
@@davidty2006 I don't know where you're getting 'German' Char B1s when they're French, the whole warden faction's asthetic is France
@@captmoha3787 idk why but i feel like there is a bit of german in the style but thats just me.....
I was in one of the Warden LTs, great fight.
Yesss!!! More foxhole!!!
I was there for the beginning of the sitaria fight. Found out that half tracks detonated mines the hard way and we respawns while laughing
68 is always at the bottom and if you want to know why its because from balancing reasons haveing a 68mm moving and rotating around is VERY VERY OP so thats how you can remind yourself of what the gun is. also the reason this is very important is cause you can dodge the 68mm if you skilled enough
The Great Sitaria Artillery barrage was by far the best friken thing me and the XOF clan have ever done.
Tbh I haven't played foxhole but I absolutely love the realism of the game and the IRL life moments of combat like the fear of surrendering and moral
Also love the ww2 equipments in the game
His Experience: a epic war effort.
My experience: be confused, spawn at the front alone, take some rifle (whatever is there), find the combat zone, learn that its again a extremely tight choke point (a bridge), get shot from offscreen, repeat, eventually give up and come back in a few months
I was on the warden side, most of my fighting was in the deadlands
Saw this game on steam and saw it was in the alpha stage, thought id wait to get it, but damn this videos are making me so keen to get it.
I miss the 5 man 75mm Heavy Main Battle Tanks...
Me and a crew took on a Silverhand at a bridge in Oarbreaker with a Kranesca, not sure how we did it but we somehow disabled em letting our infantry HE their asses. Remeber lads, no such thing as a "friendly" mine
Artillery you say... ITS TIME FOR SOME KRIEG BOIS!
Dam I was fighting in Marban hollow over the main bridge there and that was harsh fighting, the wardens kept rushing us with tanks and arty and wave after wave of infantry
damn i love the video very nice edits how the war went on and everything!! :D
As a new warden…..we’ll played colonials ..well played
Was alot of fun being in that push as part of the Mortar Halftrack gunner
by war 78 i ended up using the Mortar halftrack alot more and that thing is really good artillery.
Want to know where the enemy is? Throw a flare.
Infantry a big issue? Shrapnell
Bunkers? High explosive
@@davidty2006 yeah that is what we were doing but what is a little funny is that we were meant to be the combat engis but just ended up on the mortar halftrack for that whole op haha
So the Wardens did get our asses kicked. Darn but I have to say I had fun with my time in Foxhole so I can't wait to try again with this next war.
I think the 68mm is the assualt gun on the warden tank. It's based off actual ww2 assault tanks but they wernt very effective
20:36 we fuckin DID IT AGAIN
death before dismount wasted, death before dismount
Hey guys love your videos I just got the game but I'm in another regiment for the wardens the latest war was awesome to me I was running through artillery barrages it was awesome but idk if you guys will go wardens or not but mine is the 503rd
I think you got east and west backwards...and the cannons of the silver hand backwards
Hey Captain, at 17:59, what soundtrack were you using? It's pretty awesome. Also, amazing video as always. 😊👍
This my theory as to what happened:
The Wardens pushed way too far, way too fast, and they did not build up their gains.
On the silver hand the 68mm is in the hull and the 40 is at the top
I'm just a motherboard, a ram stick and 13$ away from playing this game. I'm counting the days and watching these vids while I'm saving money. Please keep making them
command tanks normally sit back with binoculars btw 😊
I'm on the warden side, just joined up with the Warden marine corp, get ready for a storm colonials
The silver hand looks like a char B1 but if germany built it
i do wanna say this, collies won the war as devs were on their side and wardens had low pop of players including new players just getting the game as collie had veterans plus a spy collie was confirmed to have messed with the wardens tech tree causing the defeat
I'm a warden and I didn't get a chance to play war 77, but I did play 78 (the current war) and yall absolutely creamed us, it was kinda sad lol.
Yep, the tech balance of the game isn’t in a very good state right now, so a lot of Wardens have left. Expect a lot of wars like that until the next update.
Yeah War 78 was really lame.....
Next war has auto teched jeeps so that sounds interesting....
Send forth the crunchies!
really enjoyed this vid!
