Egglestone is on my top 5 list. His pictures are so zen. And his colours. Ubererdisch as the germans say. And he is the most american of all american photographers
Eggleston give me inspiration for three reasons: 1. His good stuff is great. I love it and it motivates me. 2. His images are mostly of every day things which puts good photography in reach of every photographer. 3. A lot of his stuff is simply awful. Its good to know that even the masters can take really bad photos.
Un maestro Mr. Eggleston, un ojo privilegiado.

Just an FYI, your thumbnail is not eggelston… doesn’t even look similar at all……
Some reasonably well images, but nothing spectacular or legendary, maybe he is somehow overrated, but the music was very good from 1:40 until 6:00.
He was important but certainly was not "the father" of colour photography. Many came before him going back to 1935.
