- A fantastic day fishing for pollack at beautiful Port Logan in South West Scotland.
Drifting the cliffs and the rough ground to the south of the harbour saw loads of hard fighting pollack to the kayak with a few codling and coley in the mix as well. Metals were order of the day with fish hitting them on the surface right at the side of the kayak! An awesome days fishing at one of my favourite places.

Many thanks for posting what looked like an exciting session. Looked like a super, out of the way and peaceful place to be but does show that you can never be over prepared for the sea. It's a beautiful spot Kev, and I've only really touched the surface when it comes to fishing it. I generally go through the week, this was the first time I've fished it at the weekend and it was still pretty quiet. I'll be back soon! 👍🎣

Nice session there Chris. Anybody out on the water must always keep their wits about them as things can go against you so quickly, as your motor just showed us. Glad you had the tools to fix it, was right to have them with you. Some cracking Pollock there bud. Enjoyed, all the best and TL's.

Ha ha brill, it was a nice pollack, at least you got to see it! The sidewinder took quite a few cod for me at Beadnell last Wednesday as it happens! Felt like I was stealing them 🤣🎣

Great video as always, we had a few small pollock off our sib this weekend, wind changed so we had to go in few hours earlier than planned but better safe than sorry.

At beadnell once I had three pollack on my first three drops from 6-9lb....I hadn't even turned it on!!!!! Gutted 🤣

Hi chris as i mentioned i fished port logan yesterday and caught 5 pollock and 1 codling in 4 hours used a metal
Good result for a few hours on the water. The metals were king last week 👍🎣

Thank you, I like the supernova It’s very very stable! It is quite heavy though so bare that in mind. I take the Sturgeon if it’s a tricky launch or a long drag 👍🎣

Thanks very much I’m glad you enjoyed it. Yeah people fish from the shore there and all around the mull. If you head a few miles further north to Port Patrick there are some some great shore marks around there as well 👍🎣.

Great video son, ive watched a thousand kayak fishing videos, and fished next to kayak fishermen, but never seen anyone sitting sidesaddle with their feet in the water why?
Thanks Joe, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I just find sitting sideways more comfortable to be honest plus it's easier to fish if your lure is being taken behind you by the drift or the tide. I've never thought about it until now and you're right, I don't know anyone else who does it! 🎣👍
What's the difference between the fight in coalfish and pollock when you hook them?
So a pollack is a very hard fighter and will almost always make a couple of runs. It’s not that coley aren’t good fighters it’s just that we don’t really get them of any size inshore around the uk. You have to go of the shetlands or to Norway really to catch the big ones 👍🎣
