Invisible man is just fun to play every now and then to change up the flavour 🍋 of the game. When you play multiple games on a day it changes it up for a bit!
I’m watching this after getting my ass handed to me by Sherlock Holmes. I realize now that I was being way to aggressive. I could feel the deck resisting my play style so it’s so nice to hear that I really was playing him wrong.
1) yeah IM’s attacks aren’t super great outside of Emerge from Mist and Surprise Attack, so your opponent usually has the upper hand if you’re just trading blows 2) Sherlock also has a good matchup against IM for a number of reasons. Watson poses a difficult question: do you want to expend resources killing an 8 hp sidekick and risk not having enough damage for Sherlock’s 16? The 5 potential discards Sherlock has are nasty bc IM really needs to use every card in his deck to win, and being down a couple really hurts. At least only 2 schemes can be discarded. One more thing - it’s not that you can’t play IM aggressively, it’s just that his deck is more suited towards an unconventional playstyle. It does vary based on who he is facing, but he does require more thought than other heroes do. Hopefully you learned a couple tricks or two from the video! Now go kick Sherlock’s ass!!!
Woah, I literally had the same scenario just earlier! And to add, I was playing against Merlin and Dracula, too. Suffice to say, the sidekick galore was suffocating LMAO
Possible homebrew to make him a bit more threatening against 1 sidekick enemies or enough expendable minions that putting them on the fog doesn't really matter, is that if The Invisible Man is on a fog token, for the purposes of his attacks and schemes, all enemies on a fog token count as adjacent to him. Not sure if that'd make him too strong? But he has such a hyper specific and easily telegraphed win condition that i think itd be fine. Gonna test it out some. But yeah, the point you made at the end does make sense. (Also, binge watching these has been really fun!)

I can see where the argument could be made they have to be in spaces separate from him as well, but then I would assume the wording would be EMPTY spaces in his zone. Any idea on where I could find clarification for this?
Great question! In the “special rules” section of C&F it says that IM “places fog tokens on separate spaces in his zone as if they were sidekicks” Since your sidekick(s) can never start in the same space as you, neither can your fog

Strange question but can the Raptors mess up fog strats at all? Either by blocking access to them or just by being able to spread out more easily? Seems like an interesting matchup
The Raptors totally can mess up the fog; 3 move 3 fighters can cause absolute mayhem for IM! That matchup is a pain for IM because 1) 3 bodies to spread damage out on means his auto damage schemes are slightly less effective 2) No cancels means that all Raptor action gains will trigger and the only way for IM to escape pins defensively is with the movement effects on 4 of his cards
I know I’m late to the party but I’m confused about his third ability. Does it mean I can move between fog token without maneuvering wherever they are in the board or what?

I haven't included something like that yet because I personally (and I would assume most of my viewers) typically don't play games of super high stakes Unmatched, and in general I just play who I want to play regardless of my opponent's hero. Although, with the upcoming tournament about to start, I'm sure I'll talk about counters and things like that in depth at some point in a future video 🙂
Quick question: when IM leaves the board can he be targeted by schemes like can Sherlock use eliminate the impossible and confirm suspicion on you if you are out of the board?

That also works! I know some heroes don't have schemes or don't have non card draw schemes (like Buffy, Sinbad, Robin Hood off the top of my head), so Vanishing when their hands are full *really* punishes them.
I think IM needs some kind of buff, not to powerfull but not too weak, yes he's cool blocking character who is sometimes very difficult to resist other fighters Therefore, it would be interesting to look at other offers for its upgrade
My question is how do you stall out the game without overdrawing? I usually play 1v1v1 with my friends, and i oftentimes end up trying to stay on fog but then i start collecting too many cards and having to discard, how do you avoid that so that you can stall?
Anything bigger than a simple 1v1 is hard to strategize for because you have less control of the events and more things happen when it's not your turn. With IM in a free for all you might have to be more aggressive than normal to avoid overdraw. Pick an opponent with a low hand count or someone that can't hit very hard to avoid being smacked off your fog.
When I play as the Invisible Man it's often me who runs through my deck first... :( Especially when the opponent forces the Invisible Man to discard cards
The card "emerge from mist" says if the IM started this turn on a space with a fog token. What happens if on my turn, my IM started in fog but I used the first action to move him out of there, then used second action to attack using this card? Does the card still becomes atk 5 even though the IM was not in fog when the action was initiated?
Confound, Surprise Attack, Slip Away and Rolling Fog are not limited by your hero’s move value, and can be moved regardless of board space count. Step Lightly, Into Thin Air, Lurking and Covert Prep however tell you exactly how many spaces the tokens can be moved from their effects.

That’s a tricky one I think in a head to head matchup Arthur wins due to his high health, Merlin and potential healing from Holy Grail. But for an overall ranking I’d put IM above him I think Would love to know what you or other people think though!
@@BakedGoods Contrary to Popular belief (the internet) I absolutely love Arthur. Merlin is, imho, the best and most useful side kick in the entire game. Pulling off combos with him and Arthur are fun. Currently my least favourite character is Beowulf; I just find that i never have the right amount of rage to do anything worthwhile and it's annoying. But that probably has more to do with me not understanding how to play him well yet (played him 5 times)
@@BlueTorchWeddings I think Arthur is "shat upon" (for lack of a better phrase) more often than necessary. He's for sure not the worst character in the game, but he's pretty inconsistent which means he can occasionally be frustrating to play as and hard to win with. But there is absolutely nothing wrong with loving him, and power to you if you can make him work!

Yes those schemes will still work against an off board IM

With "Vanished" playing against it I keep a couple schemes in hand and have a full 7 hand for when this happens. At least i try to.

Always try to use Vanish 1st action as that will delay the arrival of the empty deck by a card

You don't have to be on a fog token when the attack is played, you just have to start your turn on one! So yes, it is still a 5 for that example!
