As you Krav maga is not about being a tough guy if the situation is unpredictable i'd run away as well. No matter how long i've been training it's important to stay safe.
Krav maga . I am training Kung Fu for 5 years and i started Krav Maga few months ago and i gotta say that i use both of them combined ... and its awesome combination , but you start with Krav Maga because you learn it very fast and it is based on natural responses , so basically you already know it xD But remember not to underestimate any other style ... because sooner or later that will cost ya .
This is the BEST fighting style ever!!! you can strike fast and use your senses...gotta love it!! XD
Did you know ? Krav Maga is actually much much much similar to street gang defense?
The movements are meant to be short, very simple direct and clean. The sloppier you are the more mistakes you make. That is why short , simple , direct and precise techniques does the job well. Takedowns are not recommended as many had mentioned - the assailant could be hiding a knife or a gun. Even if you throw him down he can stab or shoot you still./
It is. You can reach farther, thus keeping the danger away from you, with less risk of injury if you're not accurate enough.
Today was my 3rd class in Krav Mega, wow the pre-work outs are intense!
Bravo and thank you Israel for developing Krav Maga!
Regards from Macedonia.
Krav maga improves your basic instict that's it. When some one points a gun at you move a little to the side and punch them in the throat with there gun, that is Krav, not wrestle them to the ground. In self defence a attacker should be dissabled as quickly as possable.
Krav and Thai boxing. A great combination that works for me
all i can say, krav maga is not a martial arts. it is not for competition. it is survival art.
i really want to learn this.
@JoeJedi75 note where his left arm/hand is, its protecting his head from as you said a high kick with his other leg unless you can kick low and high with your left leg at the same time
@raingun79 man, you obviously don't have skilled instructors! I have taken Krav for a year, and still can't get enough!! I LOVE KRAV MAGA!!!!!!!!
It is russian book, it was written by Shestopalov, write it in the google "Скачать интуитивную систему боя. Шестопалов" and you shall have an answer
yes, I think the Russian "Systema" also uses it a lot. There they never use specific defenses for specific assaults, it learns only principles. Very interesting style, but rather long time to make it instictive I think.
Yes it is. Awesome workout too
i currently practice tae kwon doe and am very interested in krav maga, it looks like its more about self defense as well as basic fighting tecniques
@marcusorilius Thanks for taking the time to give me feedback. Let's say you were going to fight a guy in the cage or ring who had an amazing guard. You would have to train every possible scenario over and over to feel confident on fight night that you didnt get caught in his great arm bars, triangles, sweeps, etc. Right? To the point it was automatic in your being. Similarly, you want to train against knife attacks, hair pulls, 2 on 1, gun attacks, groin attacks, etc, for the street.
@Godisthebest9 it was what they called it "modern Krav maga". Not the traditional style. It only has about 100 moves in total..compared with 1200-1500 techniques in the "older" style.
I practice commando krav maga, and there are alot more stuff to it like kicks, knees elbows and punches
if this is so good why isnt it used in the UFC?
I think a lot of guys are getting Krav Maga wrong. In this video those are calculated moves for the demo. In real life trust the defending guy would be faster and you may not even see what he did to disarm the other guy. It was fighting technique I know that's very effective, based on your natural reflexes. It is the only fighting skill that incorporates blocking and striking at the same time.
Krav Maga is so simple, watch videos, learn and practice with someone else.
ppl tend to react at any attack, the magazine is not a weapon but distract the opponent and keeps him busy
someone who plans on fighting in UFC should learn this. The only good strikers in ufc only use like muy thai and basic boxing techniques, would make the fights waaaaayyy more interesting sometimes lol
I Practice Krav Maga, and love it. Now da KFM style is comin mainstream with their unique way of self defense. Any 1 have there input on what they see would work better for them in real street fighting? In street fighting, i mean of all sorts.. gun stik ups, knife attacks, 2 on 1, 3 on 1, 1 on 1 hand to hand combats, stick attacks, such as a baseball bat, chokes, bear hugs...I know Krav covers all these, but wha bout KFM, n what would be better? Anyones opinion, i love to hear it
I don't understand what you mean. Are you saying KM strikes are no good? They're not supposed to be like the strikes in, say, boxing. You don't wear gloves when you're walking down the street so you don't want to throw full-power punches that are more likely to break your hand than to knock the guy out. You just want to strike fast and often to stun the other guy for long enough to get you out of trouble.
How long did it take you to be proficient at self defense with Kyushindo Karate?
what is a diferent betwen krav maga, tactical krav maga and full contact krav maga pls tell me and wich one is the best??? :)))
I dont know much about fighting, but this seems more practical then the Eastern style martial arts.
hey like i have a question im like overwaight im 260 at 6'0 can i still do krav magra? i want to protect myself and loved loves while losing waight
@ADHR26 agreed, a knife is an addition to your forearm most hold them like freddie or jason.
I have heard about training system that is called Fight for survive, or intuition system, is'nt it the same fight system?
what is a diferent betwen krav maga, tactical krav maga and full contact krav maga pls tell me??? :)
Oh and does Kyushindo teach you what to do if you are taken down on the ground? Take down defense?
Yes, its for all ages
why do you say it wont work? whats the problem?
Very convincing. Is it for all ages? I would feel a lot safer in the streets if only I knew some of these techniques.
Do you have actual statistics on this rather than a thought experiment?
well, when you are surrounded on all sides by people who want to kill you, then you simply need the best method of self-defense. this is very impressive stuff.
@BigUriel i saying this fighting style seems to be more effective when its close action. but i do see your point
fancy setting up a studio in scotland.
You shouldn't use bare fists, you should use the palm of your hand as much as possible. Bare fists hitting teeth can hurt the both of you, cause infection etc. while open hand hurts just about as much to them, with next to no pain to you. And no, magazine is only used for reach when fighting/defending against knives
@Ork4life After a few weeks of training sessions the sparringpartners are instructed to attempt a stab at their opponent properly so that the training would be as close to a real life situation as possible. (We used steel propknifes) This was allso the case with punching. We were supposed to try and hit our opponent so if we missed the block we'd get punched in the face.
The trainers allso rented a nightclub occasionally so we could practice in that kind of environment. (Dark and loud)
I love krav-maga but i can't find a place near me that can teach me!i live in TN
do you know of a place?
@marcusorilius also, you would want to know that a full mount leaves your groin exposed, that anything on the ground should be avoided if you have 2 attackers, and an endless amount of other stuff that mma trains you for around the rules that you need to unlearn fast if you are getting attacked. Defending a shot to the head if I have a knife better change for you. Do you want to have to improvise on the fly or have already practiced all this?
Because in the UFC there are no knives or guns and you're not allowed to kick groins, gouge eyes, etc.
I know that. What I am talking about are the strikes, no groin or eye shots. I think if a person knew what they were doing they would clean house.
can anyone send me a list of were krav maga can be found! is it in norway??
Thanks!
Even if you bring a gun you need tactical training to use it. Otherwise the other guy shoots you first. And sometimes a gun can be taken away from you. Also, most people are not so fearing life that they need to keep a gun on them all the time. But it can't hurt to know how to defend your self just in case.
@foonfoon1 Competition trains you the wrong way. Your body/muscle memory is training for points. A couple of punches, and you're waiting for the ref.
Real fights do not work that way. They are messy, exhausting, and brutal. Krav Maga trains for situation that will help you not only survive with 2 or more assailants, but to control the adrenaline dump that causes many people to freeze up.
There is sparring in Krav Maga (also the associated Fight class), but mostly, we train to survive.
Krav Maga is not about looking good but about how to deal with dangerous situations
If you want good looking moves start learning Teakwondo oder Kung Fu
@airbrush4you Being a sport doesn't exempt an Oriental fighting style from being a martial art. In such a case as Tae Kwon Do, it is both a martial art and sport.
I like that!
how is this full contact? Looks like sets to me. . .
what's the name of that song?
its a shame that most people today dont read up on this stuff first before goin running there mouth off:/ but i need to ask you somthin im on your side but what happens if your assultent is an mma fighter?
What do you mean by 'gun control has never worked'?
You could just as easily say that allow everyone to be armed doesn't work, since the result can more easily be bullets flying all over the place by 'heroes'.
@MrDmsir - They are effective on people who don't know how to fight.. civilians, ofcourse it's effective on them. Is it effective on people who do know how to fight??? what happens on the day when someone who is well trained in similar arts faces them? You can only measure effectiveness if it's faced with something equal and supercedes it!
he did the disarm at 30 seconds wrong, he should also be grabbing the wrist not just blocking it. But, whatever works I guess..
lol
where did you get that from????
this are not averages, the USA is ten times as big as the UK and I'm sure that can't be true.
yeeaaa i agree with you sam, archer and kestrel do the same movements like this video and others
The most accurate demonstration is this video is the segment where he takes the gun away from the guy and then hits him in the base of the skull with the butt of the gun 3-4 times. THAT'S KM.
Why the guy is NOT controlling the knife??? Basics...
does anyone know if they d this in holland preferably the hauge
@Ork4life yeah, in a real situations its different but, if krav maga wasnt good as it looks, the israel army wouldnt create and teach it to their privates
i just found this one... who the hell would say that what i was doin for all those years is called krav maga....hehe i love this technique...i made it up when i was a kid then perfect it in the army n now i find out in age of 27 that it is a martial art....hmmm made me think...are there any competitions??
Im not sure but, this cant be very useful against some boxer or mma trained person right? This is more like civil defense if u are about to be robbed?
@raingun79 Depends solely on the circumstance and the quality of the fighter, never the art...
agreed. No person with even a tiny bit of knife fighting comes in with one stab. I think everyone's seen enough prison shivving to know better.
We have a saying in the United States. It's better to be tried by 12 than carried by 6.
It's true about what they say about the fighting system and belive me Krav maga works
Only one problem if i would fight so agressif like those guys i had a big problem. even if it's selfdefence it' isn't allowd here in holland to kick people who lay's on the groud or use there knife's or guns to counter attack them when you can run away from the situation.
and the best way to attack is an assult rifle then?
1:19 he wouldnt have any fingers left...hahaha
yep, it definately would
trop fort sa dechire!!!
@BlackShinobiShozoku
Well have you even tried fighting someone or a group of men on the ground
with a gun or guns or a knife/knives?
I know , my close friend did and he died on the ground bleeding to death
on - 19 May 2010 on the roadside. He was a BJJ Black Belt instructor and was a Kyokushin Black Belt 4th Dan trainer. But he according to police and eye witness reports - fought 2 men and they went to ground and was stabbed and shot 10 times. Sadly he was fighting 5 armed men.
Sigh... why do people always put "full contact" when it clearly is not. It's a training video. I'm facinated with Krav Maga, it looks brutally efficient.
tror det er ulovlig i norge...hvertfall full contact!!
@rangerchallengebravo make it compulsory during certain years in education
@SilasTomorrow Adrinaline is supposed to come out, you have to control it, but you don't need only Krav Maga to teach you that, it comes also in forms of meditation and correct breathing... but without adrinaline you would lose the will to actually fight or defend yourself. The freeze up is caused by fear, not adrinaline.. the fear of death or getting hurt... this is something in people who have no courage or are not brave.. you have to overcome your demons yourself.. lets face it, it's copied!
@lighttekku I am guessing because when karate was used in ancient Japan people knew what honor meant , but today there is no honor on the streets ... you are fighting to keep your self alive.Karate is an awesome sport but the street doesn't have any rules and any referees.
so you agree with no gun control?
you think it's better?
This fighting style is not designed for competitive use. It's meant for one thing - COMBAT. What they don't tell you in these videos - it's also not designed to disable = it's designed to kill (or maim). This style was developed in the Jewish Ghettos of Nazi Germany - there were not points for second place!
the best way is to do any sport where you train hard, so you can run your way out :D
@MxC1337MxCsh43d And who is going to do that?
He wasn't holding it. When the lone guy started aggression (or however you spell it) then the One of them pulled the knife out from behind. anyway, it's just a demostration. I was trying to be funny.
There are places you're not allowed to go with one. Like on a plane.
How else can you do a KM video? You can't really kick someone in the groin or poke their eye out. This isn't mma sparring.
news break, this just in. A man defended a knife attacker off with a news paper... that is all.
Hey LOPEZ where's that bubble that you live in? Fighting over parking spaces or cutting in line? Most of the normal people would let it go. But if it goes further than that, there's hole in the ground waiting for that poor shmock...
what ... look carfully he uses the hadel to hit him he flips it at the end
i know Krav Maga is effective, but c'mon most of the reactions of the attackers were pretty unrealistic
@nyclear I will let you in on a little secret - ANYONE can poke eyes and aim for the groin - no training required. The target of your strike is irrelevant! If you can hit an eye then you can hit a chin, temple etc. Sport fighting allows you train to effectively APPLY these techniques against fully resisting WELL TRAINED opponents. Save the "deadly" eyeball/groin attacks for when you are attacked on the street by the average noob.
@LordByahh same here lol....some crazy shit...
well would u rather get stabbed or grab a knife ?
i think, it's easier to defend yourself in the most cases. cause people who will assaulted you, are not especially trained. And do not forget that the victim has the surprise effect. Someone who's got a knife will always think that it's ok for him, and by the way get down his attention and defense.
I mean hard numbers of the point you failed to make. If you can produce a number where a population having more guns resulted in a decrease of crime (eg a correlation between guns per capita, having a decrease of the crime rate) then you would have "evidence".
yea and we wouldnt have gun crime if we replaced firearms with martial arts training
on top of that i hear it keeps u healthy and teaches discipline a lot more than guns do so in the end replacing guns for martial arts would be better
If things are this much simple why train crav maga. This video is enough isnt it ?But the things are not as easy shown in this video, on real world then u have to think about some practical methods of training not the fancy movements.I am not criticising this art.Might be the problem of the person who present this.its all depend on you.doesnt matter which style you are training the only thing matters rather than practice is who u are and what is your inborn talent.
