The fish (mini carps) ate up the leaves before it could flower.

Iam changing water regularly everyday today is 9 th day I have soak my Lotus seeds but the growth is slow the roots are not yet developed
I would save the work and just put a freshwater mussel or clam in there

Did u put vinegar or hydrogen peroxide in the water so that the lotus seeds avoid being rotten? Or kust plain water

How many days it take to germinate??
I put seeds for germination now it is 4 days but they are not germinated as of now... Water is also changed everyday.. Plz suggest

I'm not sure if I did scratching at the right end or not..do I need to keep the seeds in sunlight or away from light for germination? It has been 3 days, but I can't see the sprout
Awesome video... great music... do update on the status of the plant..I had tried to grow mini lotus too 2 years ago , did everything what you showed, after immersing them, they never flowered, only leaves... plants survived for 6 months until some pest attack ..

quick question, I just got these seeds today. I see that yours have some sort of cut at the top/bottom. Mine doesn't look like this its a whole seed do I have to make the cut?
I read somewhere that it's important to make the cut at the end for it to sprout or something. I'd recommend doing some research!
Yes mine is pre cut at the end.
@@flora-tea Rub the sides on sand paper or concrete until you see a small white circle on side. Then put in water.
I've been trying to grow from seed but why not as fast as in your video, is there any special treatment that makes it grow fast .....

I'm not a garden or plant expert, but with lotus plants, they tend to root into dirt or sand at the bottom of the lake they grow in in order to keep them stationary. And since lotus root tends to be very thick, it's best if you have a container that can host a large amount of soil at the bottom, and still be able to hold enough water for the plant(s) to grow. He even demonstrates this in the video, placing the seeds in a soil container with rocks to weigh then down, and then submerging the container in water to let the leaves float.

I changed the water every day. The water becomes milky and smelly very fast. Mine was indoors, no sun.

Priyam Gupta You have to change the water at least twice a week or more then. Don't let the water get cloudy.
you should use mud and not regular soil

I purchased 11 seeds and I found it difficult to tell one end from the other. After two weeks, only two have germinated
and one of them dropped the sprout so I'm down to one. Going Into the third week disappointed, I must have sanded the wrong ends.
Sanding didn't work for me. I just gave a small hit to the seed & it crack.. then I dropped in water & didn't change water till it sprout or water became too smoky. This worked for me.
@@Smithaa1 next time I won't sand, I'll let nature take its course just like in the wild. I've two now so I'm quite happy with this but it
is slow going.
