Literally went back to prison so he could serve his sentence, be legally free, so he can make music. I've heard it all, but le? That's true dedication. Great interview.
I'm So Disappointed With South African Media, They Trashed Talk Nathi And Dragged Him As a Bad Person And Thanks To Bra Dave For Making This Podcast Coz Every Guest He Host Comes Out My Favourite Coz I Was Made To Believe That They Were Bad People And They (Celebrities) Didn't Have a Platform To Clear Their Names, Thanks Again Bra Dave.... This Is My Second Favourite Podcast Number One Is Podcast And Chill, It's Like Bra Dave Is The First Born Of The Podcast Coz He Gives Us The Other Side Of Life And Get To Learn About Our Celebs And MagG Is The Last Born Coz He Makes Everybody Laugh, Na Nkhensa 🙏🙏🙏
Nathi Mankayi has released one of the best album in 2023 across all genre I'm enjoying the album even Black Coffee and others have mentioned how wonderful crafted, engineered and arranged the album is. You deserve to win an accolade for the amazing body of work you have put in to release such a masterpiece 🙌🏾🙌🏾 #mimoya
This man deserves a Netfix series about his life, I'm Tsonga speaking but listened to the whole episode coz of how he narrates his story so effortlessly and humour. Beautiful ❤️
He's so right he talks to you as if he knows you, I remember at the SATMAS in 2022 when I saw him I was like "oh I'm so sad I missed your performance", his response was "bowuphi, ktheni nifike late?" 😂 As if he was expecting me and my partner to make it on time to watch his performance.
Nathi is always so shy but here he became himself and hiself is so brilliant… I didn’t think King Dave would understand every word cause Nathi is using the Xhosa you don’t hear in Jozi😂😂 so proud of the team.. beautiful interview
Im halfway in the story and i must say… this is a true definition of a podcast, no time limit, tell your story as it is. Thank you Ntate Mashabela, ngiyakugcoba manje, usuvuthiwe njengeNgqwele manje and ngiyakukhipha embizeni🙌🏾
First time that Nathi has shown such openness and the guy is full of wisdom. Typical wise individuals don't talk much, but when they do, it's usually to deliver a message to someone.
Nathi has always been a reserved artist, but today he has shown that behind the conservative state, there is a genius mind and analytical mind. He is also concerned in giving right answers for the question. Thanks bra Dave for an outstanding interview.
I wish there were subtitles on this interview. I am Afrikaans speaking and only know two Xhosa words.😊 But I listen to Nathi's music almost every single day. His art and talent transcend language barriers.
Trust me my brother it’s the same, when the interview is mostly in Sesotho or SeStwana even sipitoli. As a Xhosa speaker I don’t struggle, I understand fully and it’s beautiful
There is nothing weird for the two to understand each other. People in Johannesburg had the opportunity of living with different races, Xhosa, Zulu, Mozambican, Malawian, Afrikaans and English languages, although Xhosa is somewhat difficult for them to speak. Ok'salayo they understand what you say or guesswork using isiZulu. I have a friend of mine who is Pedi speaking and I'm Xhosa speaking. We speak our languages to each other to the surprise of the listeners. There are, of course, certain words that are hard, each will change to English to clarify them. We never realized that people around us were impressed by the way we are speaking until they voiced it out. So, yiBabel.
Nathi is to ME a artist that must have international distribution because the fact that he has been to prison and faced hardships in the industry and is still here making hits. I HOPE HE KNOWS THAT GOD IS BIGGER THAN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY POLITICS. KEEP SINGING BROTHER I LOVE THE SONG ITHEMBA🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The level of authenticity in this is commendable, this goes as one of the best interviews on the internet, both gentlemen did great here. I will always come back to this 👌🏾💥
Quite a serious and sobering story by Nathi. It’s unlike any that we have heard on this channel. There’s something about a man taking responsibility for his own life and owning up to his demons and influences.
Wow,Nathi is so brilliant and brave. The way he explains his story shows genius. He is zelous and his story will inspire many who thought they will not make it.Lance is so cruel and greedy.Nathi is not the only artist who complained about him.I love the way he loves God .God bless you ,my brother.
Dearest Nathi! Your musicality is God’s gift to the world and “Nomvula” is your gift back to God. Do you have any idea how many hearts you’ve softened just by listening to that song among others? Kwanga uThixo angakusikela UNathi
He said I rephrase 'I give you vibes like I know you, as my fan, I don't treat you like a stranger even though I don't know you' that's super amazing...damn 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽💯
"Isandla" on Nathi's latest album keeps me going when I'm at my lowest, this guy was gifted this talent by God which could be the reason why he's had so many ups and downs in his past life cz God was drawing him closer to the talent he had given him. I remember when my mother passed away in 2015,his Nomvula album kept me going. I would be driving alone somewhere preparing my mom's funeral and have his album on repeat all day. This guy is a God sent❤
I was like: Oh bra Dave released a video, and its with Nathi. Let me hear what's the convo about. Then Nathi spoke in IsiXhosa, I was hooked. Siyabulela nge content emnandi kangaka. (I am not Xhosa by the way)😃
This sounds so unfair. Nathi went through the most in his life to get here, and yet he still has to fight for what he knows he deserves! What he fought to believe he deserves! Bophelo bo odd indeed. But the human spirit still perseveres I suppose. What an amazing interview! Thank you for this King David, and thank you for sharing your story Nathi Mankayi.
Thank You King David for hosting Nathi; explored your platform for the first time: Such a pure and humbling interview , May you continue to receive God’s love and blessings Nathi ;
I’ve waited 6 years for this Nathi interview. Enkosi King m’Deva , enkosi bhut’Nkosinathi ngoba so open & free. We’ll spent 3 & half hours. 👏🏾🎉❤ #UsibaLweGazi
Watched this on the day it aired. Watching it again!? I love that even as a non Xhosa speaking person, this is so easy to follow. Nathi is a gem of a human being! What an intelligent man! So articulate! So intelligent and so content in who he is! What a man🥹❤️
I’ve never watched an interview that is more than 2hrs long before but the way I enjoyed this one felt like 30 minutes ❤. Thank you Bra Dave for bringing Nathi, I learnt a lot from him
This is the most relaxed I've ever seen Nathi. Your interviewing skills are world-class. Nathi's story needed to be told. It's nice to see him laugh. What a great talent. God bless him
Bhut'Nathi. So relaxed, confident and more openly now. You can hear and see the growth with so much experience. I really admire his journey within music and his deep rooted faith in his craft and I hope to meet him one day and tell him how much his music has been a blessing in overcoming so many obstacles in my life. It can only be God. Ndiyathandaza amandisele.
I must say out of all the nguni languages, isiXhosa is the best (personal opinion). I'm saying this as a Mosotho who cant speak any nguni languages. I understand both isiZulu and isiXhosa a little but i really love listening to amaXhosa speaking.
Beautiful interview as always. English as a language is just that a language, a tool to communicate. Not a measure of anyone's intellect. As a Pedi man, I'm glad and happy Nathi proudly speaks his native language with no regard to what others are saying. He understands himself and his gift. Interview was flowing; David understood him well and always handles interviewees with care. This is the 1st time listening to Nathi this open. Big up King David.
after watching this interview u realize how someone's story will impact your life and life teachings. He is so humble and honest. I even downloaded this interview even after watching,I'm saving it for the days when I'll be feeling "cold emotions" of our everyday challenges in life. Thank you very much king David for the wonderful show.
King David, I am not Xhosa but I love your podcasts and I can follow the conversation 99%. Perhaps I can help you with subtitles. Even from some of your older podcasts. At lease a first draft and can be proof read by native speakers.
By the way King David, I’m not looking for money, I am quite well off, I just think it will be helpful to spread your message, I speak most of SA languages and I only want to help
Abuti David please invite Moshidi Motshegwa, we need to hear her story. Nathi's is INSPIRATIONAL, nothing short of God's mercy and love. He must write a book.
It's an interesting conversation King David. I watch your podcast more often. I enjoy every guest story, for example, prison love. You probing skills are of a very high quality and I piccked up that you are a reading young man. I'm retiring at UNISA and interested to to share my life and development as a village girl. My education struggles and how I empower myself supported fully by 2 men, my grandfather and later my spouse took over. I'm 65 years old. I'm not sure whether elderly women like myself could come tribute towards motivating the young, from humble beginnings, and what is unique men support who happen to be very unpopular as fathers and spouses.
I brought up 2 boys with no father figure as in father and uncle but by the grace of God they finished school and Tertiary. They are not perfect but they could be better with some uncle to look up to. They are so domesticated as in cooking and cleaning...
The best interview of Nathi and King Dave's ever. Wow I listened from the start till the end and Nathi was so relaxed the connection here was super amazing I think Nathi would also vouch this was the best interview his ever had👏
ohh its from Nathi's perspective that he believes that GOD gave us our languages intentionally and with reasons, so for us to communicate or pray in English when we talk to him feels like we are less appreciative, and that could lead to our prayers not being heard. He argued that the prayers we say in our own languages are more powerful, he was referencing to us black South Africans who prays in English. From Agenda Network Talk to great inspiration, in my opinion more than talent your intelligence has and will take you even further Ta, Keep up the great work, in-between this interview I listened to all the songs mentioned. UThixo abe nawe.
I've always loved Nathis music but now I love his persona, his songs is still healing me to this day. This song was mentioned by Unathi in one of her interviews and I have been listening to it since. It's a worship song,
Nathi is such a beautiful soul, a well of wisdom, he is still here not because he is smarter than his late buddies but because he has a greater purpose, look at a God of second chances, l am in awe of his love
The manner in which Nathi articulated himself resonated like hand in glove with initial remarks bro Dave uttered that Nathi's story is a special one. Needless to say, the interview was not only intriguing but also educational, what a feast for our ears!
I remember where I was and what i was doing when i first heard Nomvula. It just tickled my heart strings. One of the most beautiful songs ever made. Beautiful interview👌🏿
What a moving story from Nathi, i you journey deserves to be narated in a movie or a documentary. I have listed to your album and all i can say is wow the albums is on fire 🔥. Theys no need to skip. Ndonwabile is my song
Nathi's life story is so real and relatable... Beautiful interview bhut' David I really love how you're interacting with Nathi and making him feel so comfortable speaking his home language ❤️ ISIXHOSA❤... Beautiful
This interview is close to my heart I will never get tired of listening to Nathi's interview. The music industry is full of vultures and exploitation... Never stop fighting for what is yours all the best
Having finished watching this Podcast I logged into my Spotify account and followed him .....now am just sobbing.I guess we need guys like him to unlock our hidden sins....thanks again bro @King David.🙏🙏🙏
This interview, Nathi's story is inspiring in so many ways, in all aspects zobomi. How he learns from everything he's been through shows growth and that he wants to be a better person. Lonto he's smart and funny.. Great interview guys ❤.
I’m definitely downloading the albums to explore . This 3 hours didn’t even feel like 3 hours. His Story is beautiful I hope he flourishes even though he might have been robbed. Love that he is not dwelling on the past focusing his future that big lesson to learn for everyone . King David you are definitely the Broadcaster you think you are because you dug soo deeply into nathi and gave an experience of him .
There's so much to learn from his life story! Its a sad reality of many Black South Africans. A story we can relate too..be it your brother, cousin or someone you grew up with but never made it this far😢 And Indeed, "Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" Ephesians 6 vs 12
1 of the best interviews nathi just summarised the hardships of black people and what makes it worse siyacindezelana yet there is loads of talent but not support , guidance and our education system is not helping at all
3 hours felt like 15 minutes, I was really inspired by Nathi story. Can't he write a book? Yhoooo all I can say is God is truly alive, God does show up 🙌. Thank you for sharing your story and thank you Bra Dave for bringing him ❤ I learnt a lot.
Listening to certain parts of this conversation, I can't help thinking of those motivational Ted Talks. The magnitude is great... Nathi holds so much power with words. I'm deeply impacted. He feels at home in this interview, such a beautiful thing to watch. We love him. He must continue making us proud. He changed so that they can also change. There's so much more God has called him to do. In his trajectory he must remain strong.
This one is for the books! History has been documented! Also Nathi made me realise that the biggest hurdle one must overcome is a mental one…this man had all the odds stacked against him but he made it.
It's my first time seeing Nathi so comfortable in an interview.
It takes a skill to make a guest this comfortable. Big ups Bro Dave 🤝
He was very open about his past.great interview with bra David
Same here this is not a Q&A type interview it’s as if uncokola ne brother yakhe
Bra Dave is GOATED bro

The manner in which Nathi articulated himself resonated like hand in glove with initial remarks bro Dave uttered that Nathi's story is a special one. Needless to say, the interview was not only intriguing but also educational, what a feast for our ears!
❤

Great interview guys ❤.
I’m definitely downloading the albums to explore . This 3 hours didn’t even feel like 3 hours. His Story is beautiful I hope he flourishes even though he might have been robbed. Love that he is not dwelling on the past focusing his future that big lesson to learn for everyone .
King David you are definitely the Broadcaster you think you are because you dug soo deeply into nathi and gave an experience of him .
don't download from fakaza please
There's so much to learn from his life story! Its a sad reality of many Black South Africans. A story we can relate too..be it your brother, cousin or someone you grew up with but never made it this far😢
And Indeed, "Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms" Ephesians 6 vs 12
Nathi is so clear on his observation and delivering his thoughts, one of the best interview , Nathi is very conscious
