Employees can't take food, or any item pass the lounge or break area. It will change what's getting in. Also guards should be paid well. They should have great benefits. Those correctional officers get paid very little. Not saying it's an excuse but my ex-sister in law was one and she would tell us all types of tales of officers who got in trouble from smuggling contraband to having sex with inmates. It's not uncommon. Think about, that $2000 is probably more than their take home pay for 1 pay period. Once again, not saying it's right but they are highly underpaid and you are not getting the creme de la creme as far as intelligence and integrity.

Well it's usually the inmates doing the recording and posting to social media, they do this to get the CO's in trouble there in there for a while and at the end of the day they only asked for something the CO's are the ones actually breaking any laws or policies not the inmates, it isn't against the law for an inmate to ask for things only for the CO's to comply with their requests

I worked in a prison for 15 years and we were NOT allowed to bring meals beyond the break room. Honestly, food was one of the LAST things that inmates wanted and the profit margin would not have been worth the risk when a cell or chemicals were far easier to bring in.

Your crazy when I was locked up in philly a lot of dudes was holding $500-1000 in cash they was buying perks weed ecigarettes dope with the whole works kit needle & all it was easy as hell to get anything you could get on the streets in there 💯 dudes had whole tattoo kits cells setup for tattooing gambling all that only thing that wasn't there was females but the guards corrupt as hell .. everybody knew what was going on with certain COs that would go into a cell for 20 mins with somebody when the sheet up 😂
You can't expect to rehabilitate prisoners when you have staff who are just as corrupt as the inmates housed at penal institutions. Polygraph every staff member on that cell block because steak isn't all that's being brought in.

It's not a rehabilitation center. It's just a county jail where half of the inmates haven't been found guilty of the crimes they're charged with. Most are being held until they can come up with the high bond costs or their charges are too serious to get a bond release while awaiting trial. So a little extra food will not cause any harm when there's so much worse things that take place inside there
There's plenty of prisons that are worse than America's. Especially the ones that need to bring in the military to take back their prison every so often. Then, there are countries that let inmates' families live with them in the prison. I heard about those from this Dominican woman because her father was in one. It was crazy.
This jail needs to be shut down. In another report today, an inmate died from a severe bed bug infestation. What's going on in this jail is unacceptable and we, the tax payers, need to speak up!!

A officer that does his job by policy they mess with by the upper administration and also the inmates. A convict wont rat but a inmate will tell everybody. A convict is down for a long time and you can do a little extra for him. A inmate is in for a short time and is usually young and loud mouthed and will tell on his on moma. I had a few convicts that I have gave food and they never told. They will handle things on the floor with a rat. They will let you know they aunt no good.Actually I had convicts that I trusted more than the guards. Probably there is not no more convicts in the system no more because of this new generation.
Well you could pay them more and possibly reduce the temptation to be bought off by the inmates. Or your could discipline the culprits so severely no one would ever think to do such a thing again. The choice is yours…

Inmates have the right to eat good food. Being incarcerated means u only lost yr freedom. It doesn't mean u have to be treated like an animal. Jails make millions by over charging for phone calls, noodles n other simple things.
If our prison systems actually fed these people decent FOOD as in healthy, varied, and with the appropriate calories, this would happen much less often! I have several family members who work at a nearby prison and all of them say these people are being nutritionally neglected/abused. The men don't get the proper amount of calories and lose weight fairly quickly. It's disgusting how these people are treated. The guards should never be bringing in outside food for sure, but you have people, working with other people who they see being wronged in so many ways. It's called empathy, and compassion! If you're going to lock them up, then you have an obligation to meet their needs.

I don't think this story is entirely true cause when I was locked up in a state penitentiary in New York in the late 90s through the mid-2000s, I was working as an individual bringing in the food that was ordered by the prison itself, and the CO's was there to oversee everything. The CO's had special food orders billed to the prison, and I saw steaks, shrimps, lobster tails, lamb, and other high-quality delicacy food that usually was never seen by the prison inmates. Since I brought them in after being delivered, my job was just to organize and separate food and store them in specific locations like refrigerator/freezer in the kitchen/mess hall. Over time, I became reliable and trustworthy cause I was always on time in the very early morning to do my job that the CO that was responsible for monitoring me and others allowed us to eat the better food than the crap that's given to the rest of the prison population. About 3 years left of my sentence, I didn't eat the prison food. I ate decent, well-made food. I made/cooked my food for myself, and I had to make sure no one else knew or told anyone else my perk I had. I would either eat my food very early in the morning while most people were sleeping or late-night while most of the other inmates were busy with their own devices... I didn't have to bribe anyone it was offered to me in a matter of time. I won't be surprised if this particular institution is trying to cover the real cover-up.

A officer that does his job by policy they mess with by the upper administration and also the inmates. A convict wont rat but a inmate will tell everybody. A convict is down for a long time and you can do a little extra for him. A inmate is in for a short time and is usually young and loud mouthed and will tell on his on moma. I had a few convicts that I have gave food and they never told. They will handle things on the floor with a rat. They will let you know they aunt no good.Actually I had convicts that I trusted more than the guards. Probably there is not no more convicts in the system no more because of this new generation.

When you think about it, everything in a prison or jail is funded by tax dollars. If inmates are willing to spend their own money for food and save tax dollars then I say let them.
Your tax dollars are used for the government’s enjoyment and barely inmates, trust the government is robbing u blind using 10% on the jail u supposedly pay for and using it on themselves or personal means taxes already been wasted for years that’s why nothing changes in jails
The inmates didn't attempt to stir anything. They clearly made it happen by extorting or paying C.F employees
Lots of jails allow inmates to order outside meals from selective restaurants twice a month .At least the inmates aren’t killing one another. The mental toll that ways on incarceration Ppl can be excruciating.A few outside perks should be permanent.

I been in there a couple of times before and that’s the least you they are really worried about these fools fucked up the connect when they took the pic the inmates have guns and plenty knives they found so much stuff it’s I can’t make this somebody had 45 once before I seen a gang member with a 22 the doors don’t lock properly even after they put new locks on way back when and the extortion rate and stabbings are crazy if you a fresh fish with no hood ties or bad hood ties you better hope you only in there with the misdemeanors and classified the same way or you are about to be in a world of trouble

Inmates have the right to eat good food. Being incarcerated means u only lost yr freedom. It doesn't mean u have to be treated like an animal. Jails make millions by over charging for phone calls, noodles n other simple things.
If our prison systems actually fed these people decent FOOD as in healthy, varied, and with the appropriate calories, this would happen much less often! I have several family members who work at a nearby prison and all of them say these people are being nutritionally neglected/abused. The men don't get the proper amount of calories and lose weight fairly quickly. It's disgusting how these people are treated.
The guards should never be bringing in outside food for sure, but you have people, working with other people who they see being wronged in so many ways. It's called empathy, and compassion! If you're going to lock them up, then you have an obligation to meet their needs.
@Pat Frederick I wasn't aware that whatever the crime, they suddenly became less human. I've been harmed, and still, I see a person who has needs. A liar is a liar. A theif a theif. But they are still people. Since when does one wrong correct another? Never. And who, here, can day they've never harmed another person. Never lied. Never done anything illegal or purely for self gain? No one. Do your wrongs demand that your bodily needs go unmet? No. They don't. Neither do theirs.

If they didn't give inmates food that you literally slop Hogs with that wouldn't happen when I was a little girl my grandma catered to honor Farm here in My state we would make over 300 meals and take up there to the prison that included guards and the warden that was getting her plates

I don't think this story is entirely true cause when I was locked up in a state penitentiary in New York in the late 90s through the mid-2000s,
I was working as an individual bringing in the food that was ordered by the prison itself, and the CO's was there to oversee everything.
The CO's had special food orders billed to the prison, and I saw steaks, shrimps, lobster tails, lamb, and other high-quality delicacy food that usually was never seen by the prison inmates.
Since I brought them in after being delivered, my job was just to organize and separate food and store them in specific locations like refrigerator/freezer in the kitchen/mess hall.
Over time, I became reliable and trustworthy cause I was always on time in the very early morning to do my job that the CO that was responsible for monitoring me and others allowed us to eat the better food than the crap that's given to the rest of the prison population.
About 3 years left of my sentence, I didn't eat the prison food. I ate decent, well-made food. I made/cooked my food for myself, and I had to make sure no one else knew or told anyone else my perk I had.
I would either eat my food very early in the morning while most people were sleeping or late-night while most of the other inmates were busy with their own devices...
I didn't have to bribe anyone it was offered to me in a matter of time. I won't be surprised if this particular institution is trying to cover the real cover-up.
