I appreciate how you are able to work thru the trials and tribulations of this journey and have a smile on your face after the dust settles.

I was camping last night and managed to get through another 30 days of the Kindle book "Whistler's Walk". The one thing that kept being mentioned was the absolute awesomeness of the Shenandoah waysides and their ability to deliver the food and great people to brighten spirits of any thru hiker.

I know a lot of thru hikers like to road walk for a change of pace, but there are still quite a few really nice views from the AT itself in the park. In my opinion Shenandoah really shines in the fall. Anyway, I hope you’ve had a really great time in the park! You’re flying through it with all the big mile days.

g-lord that chicken looked so good, be sure to come back and do Old Rag near big meadows. My friends and I used to do old rag, white oak canyon, and corbin hollow a few times a year for a weekend adventure. It's a fantastic route, do it, truss fam

You know you've been in the woods too long when you get excited about hot sauce in a plastic container, when this is all over take a short break and the next challenge survivor the TV show

By the time you see this comment, you'll probably be out of Virginia! I just looked it up and Virginia has almost twice the miles of any other AT state. You'll be clicking off the states soon. Hang in there! You are so consistent in your mileage. You are doing great!

Looks like you recovered from the stormy night.
Hope you got completely dried out.
The Wayside looks like a fantastic resource.
The displays are very interesting. I loved the boots.
I have a pair of very old Vasque hiking boots similar to those.
They are very heavy, but bullet-proof. Hiked many a mile in them, but, they are retired now.
Can’t seem to let them go.
I camped at the Big Meadows campground with some friends about fifty years ago, to the day.
It was very nice then, and seems even better now.
    Onward
