I was ever so fortunate to meet the fabulous Joanna Lumley at the opening of Warner Bros cinema in Leeds. The press release mis quoted her abfab character name Pasty instead of Patsy. So on the way to the photo shoot I stopped by a store and bought a delicious Cornish Pasty, gave it to her during the shoot - we had a little giggle about it and she was more than happy for me to photograph her with the pie. This is how I came to buy Joanna Lumley lunch. Fabulous :o)

The amazing Joanna Lumley is, in my opinion, the consummate professional, she is such a lovely woman, I’ve met her and also received a video message from her thanks to my fabulous friend Danny Beard who is the most exciting new Drag Cabaret performer, check him out on TH-cam, when Joanna speaks she makes you suddenly listen and bewitches you with her perfect diction and timeless pronunciation! Im so blessed to have met her, been entertained by her and to have imitated her... I bow to you Joanna! Long live the Queen!

I’m not so keen on her anymore since I heard she sent a letter to all the Mencap workers asking them not to take their back pay. Apparently they’d been underpaid for years on various shifts. Their pay isn’t great anyway and it’s a challenging job. Perhaps a donation from her instead?

oh her bit on sally Hawkins was really really funny, she sounds like she is describing shape of water and ends with Paddington, boy that was very very funny.
Sadly for an award show like BAFTAs, this was a very flat monologue and especially the misplaced and misfitting adjectives and the order of recognition of the actors present was a bad judgment, especially recognizing Sir Daniel Day-Lewis after 5 actors. A person as senior and revered as him should have had been mentioned the first in the order and that joke about your dress "did" provide the humor, but the lack of adjective defeated the whole intention. You should have worked on your monologue much more.

Yikes. They've saddled Lumley with exactly the same format of gushing tweeness that Stephen Fry never quite made work year after year. It's the kind of cringeworthy banter that you imagine must be written by a couple of failed luvvies who still haven't quite acknowledged that Gielgud, Olivier and Guinness are all dead.

Joanna played it perfectly ........... she only ad-libbed where it helped ....... that is the sign of an accomplished woman, completely comfortable in her own skin.

Well this is not a stand-up comedy, she shouldn't takeover the show like they do in America. She was brilliant, short, sometimes funny and not a bore!

Waffle waffle waffle. This show is an embarrassment compared to the Golden Globes or the Oscars. What a pathetically boring monologue. A lot of long worded adjectives and not one genuinely funny comment. Ricky Gervais no doubt cringing at home.
