@ZakhadWOW It's called a Damehood when women get be-gonged. Rather disappointingly they don't get the sword on the shoulder bit. Did you know that she was deckared a Living Goddess in Nepal for her support of the Gurkhas?
she's brilliant. I lost my Mother around 19 years ago and she would be 99 this year. she would roll about at Johanna's antics on documentaries and said she would love to spend time with her. lol. I was on the beat in London one day, Soho, when in the Police and she passed me and smiled at me and said hello, which i said back of course. Two guys who were rough sleepers were looking at her and said to me.. who is she? i said,, Johanna Lumley. One shouted.. Oi.. Johnanna! she turned around, smiled beautifully and blew them a kiss each. Elegantly done. they were absolutely delighted.
These two women are the perfect foils for this show. When Jennifer started yelling at Lulu, I thought I'd lose it! Joanna baking with such gravitas is what we need in these trying times.
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 So you decide who is going through challenging times, hmm? Good to know. And the definition is solely war and illness? Is that it? Well, I should think an ongoing global pandemic qualifies, don't you? But if not, human rights abuses, attacks on democracy, global warming, subjugation of women, racism, and general bigotry towards Jews, Muslims, the LGBTQIA+ communtiy... just to name a few, are NOT challenging? Really now...dear?
@@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 I agree with ur first statement, not reallly the others. Times can be trying for anyone at anytime without visible external factors causing it
@yevgeniyaleshchenko849 Good to know that only wars or sickness constitute trying times. I was worried that the cost of living crisis, racial tensions, fake news, rising drug addiction, pressure groups forcing children to have gender realignment treatment, corruption in public bodies and politics, rising knife crime, extreme weather events, the crisis in care for the elderly and the mental health crisis, religious fundamentalism and intolerance, cancel culture, the attack on women's rights and the cuts to public services might make these trying times. Nice to know that they don't, thank you for putting all our minds at ease.
I love that Jen and Joanna are hovering around each other and trying to be helpful and supportive. Patsy and Eddie forever. I can't believe this was done in 2015 and I'm just learning about it now. What a grouping.
Ok, so this is basically Edina got asked to do the bake off, Patsy is there for support and "cooking skills" and they dragged Lulu in because Lulu got the invite. So this is basically just a crossover episode of Absolutely Fabulous!
Jennifer’s utter unraveling at Joanna’s sincere warning that part of the cake is actually glass right before they EAT it MAKES me HOWL, every time. You can just hear years of their shared glorious bumbles in that laughter. What lovely luck they met and worked together!
I love Joanna Lumley so much! She is so self-deprecating, lovely and funny. And how cool to have another of my favorites, Jennifer Saunders, in the same room!
I have finally seen someone as incompetent as myself as a baker, which is embarrassing because my mother excelled as a baker. She could also grow things. Just put a spring of something in the soil, and it flourished. I did not inherit that gift either. Plants see me approach and die on the spot. Joanna Lumney has the best gift of all. Her delightful sense of humor has given the gift of laughter, and no flop of a cake can dampen that. In fact, it helps me laugh at my own failure in the baking department. I wonder if she gardens like she bakes? I hope so.
Joanna is just gorgeous. Love her in everything that she has done from The New Avengers, Absolutely Fabulous, supporting the Gurkhas to this. One classy lady.
All of them, from Joanna Lumley through to Mary Berry team up perfectly to give the most perfect comic send-up of modern British sensibilities and personalities. What stupendous talents😂🎉
OMG Jennifer, Joanna, and Lulu. What is this genius? Love it. Joanna putting coffee in instead of chocolate was side splitting hilarious. This is so much fun!!!
This will always and forever be my most favourite comic relief bake-off episode. Jennifer, Joanna, Dame Edna (RIP) ... hilarious. I wish they could do another 😂😂
It is just as miserable here in Canada. Covid gave people permission to voice their cruel thoughts and be horrible to everyone rather than just think them apparently. Loved this clip!!!

Love Joanna. She is such an advocate and inspiration. Her sense of humour in such a self-deprecating way is hilarious. Her documemtaries about the nile, in Greece, India and the Northern lights have history, culture, faith, architecture, cuisine, language and are beautifully done ❤

My friend and I many years ago we’re on a rally in London for Compassion in World Farming and Joanna Lumley was there (and Martin Shaw and the late beautiful Lynsey de Paul)and sorry to go off thread but what I want to say is how beautiful she is,stunning and so lovely to talk to,a really wonderful lady.

Absolutely Charming.
I laughed so much i cried - they were the best ever
Because Lulu is fucking annoying.
She's always hated LuLu from the ab fab days! LOL!

I think she was the “You have mail” voice for AOL in Britain.

Yes! When I see interviews it's like a parliamentary version of Patsy, she's incredible.
Who is she? Her voice is lovely, but I have no clue who she is….
