Jean Bonnefoy the mmcx has a motor that is not necessary for playing it and it has electronic pickups which are necessary for the drums and maybe the bass but optional for the rest. So without any electronics the Mmx is capable of playing music. Don’t think ‚electro-mechanical‘ is accurate
Unfortunately the marble machine was barely museum ready when he sent it to the spielklok museum a few years back. The modulin would be a great fit here though.

I love the configuration in vertical rows, and the fact that each owl sounds from it's location, making for not only some very strange stereo (I imagine), but for some weird verticality too.
Aw my goodness, the owl organ is very brilliant, cute and awesome. Owls are one of my favorite animals, so I definitely love this organ and its construction.
Same as rooks. Group of rooks is a parliament. Is times when they form a parliament. One moves about in the middle, squacking and a chattering...the rest stand still and watch. Can go on for minutes or hours with one of two results. They all fly off together...or they descend upon the one and rend it to tatters. Few know why they do this...'tis a secret.
I love hearing you experiment with each of them, listening for something that sounds good, something you can apply to a familiar technique. So special to watch someone do something so well!
Once again, I wish you the best in preparing and then opening that Museum of Everything Else. Witnessing you fulfilling your projects is a major source of motivation for me.
Stuff like this (this entirely channel honestly) always inspires me to work on my personal projects after I get jobs done. I repair/build clockwork things (vintage watches, clocks, cameras, music boxes, etc), machining, tool making, and metal/wood working as a passion. I built a couple different completely mechanical multi track/comb music boxes a bit back from scratch. They sound great but the limited time (and time required to make new discs/drums) was a downer. So I'm rebuilding the single larger comb and 4 track(comb) box to use a microcontroller and tracker I put together years ago to play instead of combs.
Can you PLEASE put the complete versions of the songs you play on TH-cam or Spotify? The sounds are amazing. For example the 90's dance covers and the quickly made sequences. They're shooting and generally great. Thanks ahead!
It's a few bars from one of his own songs, titled "Safety." You can hear a version of it on These Songs Are Obsolete, but the owl organ does not feature.

Yes! This.
ill look into it, they may not want to work together, you know.... the decade long war between furbies and owls
YESSSSS!!!✌🦉
Wintergatan has some fantastic musical creations that would fit perfect in a museum.
Martin was the first one who came to mind too!
Also, I'd love to see Martin come and explore Sam's museum and play with all the things.
the marble machine genius that
MMX is more electro-mechanical than electronics but Martin's Wilsons are a bit Furbyish...

Aw my goodness, the owl organ is very brilliant, cute and awesome. Owls are one of my favorite animals, so I definitely love this organ and its construction.
That sounded surprisingly good
I fell in love with owls especially screechy ones when I used to watch ornithologist’s owls and this is amazing
Owl organ, brilliant. Reminds me of the synths that made dog barks, family playing xmas tunes on it.
You didn't play anything by the funk group 'Parliament'
(a group of owls is called a 'parliament' ;) )
Funkadelic joke.
Same as rooks.

You should reach out to comedian Bill Bailey, this seems right up his street.

jokes, it was an owl joke. aaaah
this would be so good for a halloween/haunted themed piece!
Fantastic, I love making weird instruments too. Not to this level though. Maybe someday!
Sounds very SNES at some points... I'd love to hear it play Corridors of Time from Chrono Trigger, has that same feel.
I really hope the museum goes one well. Would like to visit it sometime in the far future. A very far future with these times.
It's an Owl City!
an owl coldecote
That is absolutely beautiful, in concept, in look and in sound. I love it!

@@ShawnStack1 My vlog has something to tell you
It's not about the furby.

Wow, I love this instrument. Sounds so nice!
I hope and pray upon the avian gods that all the Owls were bought at once from a Home Bargains and the cashier had no idea what was happening.
I can just imagine that!
lol a story in the family for years to come
That thing sounds just incredible
Looks like something you could have OLW-ers of fun with!
Hmmm, wonder if this would keep the pigeons off my balcony.
Cool, a Vectrex on the shelf to the right of the owls. Have one in the closet.
'It wasn't really built for a specific purpose....'
How can you not but like this guy!

Ehrmahherd! You know what would sound absolutely stellar on the Owl Organ?
The X-Files theme.

This museum will be a hoot.
You have done it again.. Well done..
Sounds like something from a Cosmo Sheldrake song! Love it
Please do a full video for koyowlisquatsi it sounded great
@Enok Elmersson Yes, I'd love to hear the entire piece!
Koyaanisqatsi by screaming owls is pure nightmare fuel. Thanks for posting!
I'd love to see a full song of the bit that played in the intro. It's so outerworldly and wonderful.
This is mad, but wildly ingenious

I love when the notifications for this show up. I never know what will turn up.
Can't wait for the Owlbum.
I need an owl organ cover of better off alone now!!!
The world needs to see a duet between this and the Furby organ.
9:30 why did it end?? I want a full version of this music. It's dope !! :O
Yeah, is it some song or did he make that himself?
It's a few bars from one of his own songs, titled "Safety."
You can hear a version of it on These Songs Are Obsolete, but the owl organ does not feature.
Wonderfull! They work really good in minor whith their owley sound :) glad to hear about the museum! Looking forward to it!
As my partner said it's stoopid, but in the best possible way.
This is what life should be!!!
You sure certainly could scare a whole lot of blasted blackbirds with them there owls. Damn your skills exude mastery!! Nice coffin!
