  • In this video I talk about pre-recorded interviews, a rising trend in the Canadian federal government hiring process. I draw on my own experiences and share knowledge gathered from colleagues who've gone through these interview processes.
I share why pre-recorded interviews are becoming more popular, the pros and cons for applicants, and the most commonly used platform, VidCruiter. I also share tips to help you succeed in these types of interviews. Whether you're navigating the job market or simply interested in understanding the nuances of the government job application process, this video is for you.
Don't forget to like, subscribe, and leave a comment if you have any other tips that have helped you ace pre-recorded interviews!

Thank you so much for this - I will be doing an interview tomorrow and was wondering how this would go. I was surprised that you didn't get to choose the attempt that you are most satisfied with.

@@maddyishara actually, I've done a few now, and I like their process a lot! Much less pressure than sitting in front of a row of interviewers! I'm pretty comfortable in front of a camera with my TH-cam and media experience, so that doesn't hurt either. Good luck to you!

Are you recommending that we do not complete/submit the interview during the working day? I am asking because typically interviews do happen during the work day, and having young children at home makes it very difficult to complete any work or interviews in the evenings or weekends. Thanks for clarifying

@@fiesty_ps I did the interview back in the summer. I didn't have any additional supports, but to be honest, I didn't feel that I had time to review anything I might have used anyhow. I was occupied writing out my answers and doing a run through. Good luck to you!

@@TheSuburbanGardenista Hello and thanks for your comments. I have my first vid interview tomorrow and I was wondering if you could expand a little. Did you have to write out your responses during the recording? Or was this a suggestion provided to you before you did your video recording. Thanks!
