    I love Rivian as a company, R.J. as the leader, and R1 is just an awesome vehicle--I think Rivian hit it out of the park with the R2, R3 and R3X, and they had to. If they can stay afloat until the R2 makes production, the R2 and R3 will solidify Rivian moving forward, and that's really exciting. Only one potential gripe about the R2: I do not see a spare tire anywhere. I wouldn't want to drive around the on the surface streets much less out on the mountain roads on an adventure without a spare. Maybe there will be a work around but if you are going to build an adventure tire and want us to go find some fun off pavement, we need a spare! Other than that one issue, though, I LOVE this car.

    • @soflojoshautoreview
      @soflojoshautoreview  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think they will be able to stay afloat till then. The EDV is going to be a big hit with companies now wanting to use them. The R1 models are getting the refresh soon so that could also drive up sells all in all. Also hearing that over 68k people reserved the R2 definitely brought in some money!
      As for the Spare tire I do agree that not having it is bad. I will say that this model is a Production intent model and not full on production so that means that part could change!

      @@soflojoshautoreview I was thinking about getting a Land Rover Defender and a teardrop trailer, either by Camp-Inn or High Camp, and touring the country for a few months. Then I started researching newer, high tech solutions that some travel and camping enthusiasts are opting for. I was surprised to find many people choosing to camp out in their Priuses and Teslas. Then I discovered the Rivian R2. This could be a game changer. Still, I hate having to stop every couple hundred miles to recharge for an hour and real off-grid camping could be a challenge.

      Thank you for the comment! So we weren’t allowed to sit in the R2 so I wouldn’t be able to say but it should be just as plush as the R1’s. The seat materials aren’t final in this version you see here. I feel like they aren’t compromised anywhere with this model in fact I think for a production intent model they killed it with fit and finish plus the material look very solid. Now the creases you see on the seat is that it’s not the overall finished material for the seats so those will actually change. This is also 1 of 3 that were built for this tour.

It's mind-blowing to me that they didn't think of that, they decided to move it to another area of the vehicle that makes it equally useless at a tesla supercharger and I would love to speak to the designer who came up with this idea to understand the motive behind this...
