Some fun facts: * Graham only had nine legal outs against Mono-Chi Good Stuff, only representing 6 letters for Alex to work with. (Xiahou Dun for D; Xanthic Statue for E; Xantid Swarm for M; Xathrid Demon/Gorgon and Xira Arien for N; Xun Yu, Wei Advisor for R; and Xenic Poltergeist and Xenograft for T. * Alex had answers for all nine outs. The only letters he would have to splash another letter for is U or X, but there was no X----U or X----X card for Graham to pick. * Sets released after GP Calgary [edit: this was compiled just after Guilds of Ravnica came out] added 6 outs for Graham, representing 5 letters but only 2 new ones. (Xathrid Skyblade for E; Xathrid Necromancer and Xenagos, the Reveler for R; Xenagos, God of Revels for S; Xantcha, Sleeper Agent for T; and....) * There is one post-GP card that either of them could use against each other - X, from Unstable. * Alex had Graham absolutely dead on board. There are 126 cards he could have chosen, and another 50 that have since been added. Here's good one: If you have a ice land (or whatever the exclusive land from Ice Age is called) of any color in play, all of your creatures gain +2/+2 and Plainswalk, Islandwalk, Swampwalk, Mountainwalk and Forestwalk. Broken I know but it works seeing as winter in Canada can be pretty crazy at times.

Yeah if you can play that land turn two, then damn. Canada sounds broken for five color commanders like Child of Alara or Horde of Notions, or Cromat, hell it can even speed up Progenitus.
FoggyMemoryJ I think it's more balanced than the Canada they came up with to be honest, because it has to be played turn two to be useful and you can't play another one pretty much ever.
Gas Station. Gas station enters the battlefield tapped with 5 gasoline counters. Tap: Remove a gasoline counter from Gas Station. Add 2 colorless to your mama pool. Red: Sacrifice Gas Station. Gas Station deals 2 damage to each player for each gasoline counter on Gas Station.
Actually, turn 3 if you play it right. Turn one gas station, turn two mountain, sac the station. Turn three play another gas station, and since it doesn't need to tap in order to sac, you can sac again for lethal.
Conor Brown But, it's a turn 3 draw, you'd need phyrexian unlife. So, you'd need black sources. Alternatively, you could remove 1 gas counter, burn a life on a shockland, and play near death experience for the win.
I love this series I think the episodes I watch most often are the ones where you guys go to a gp our some other tournament. The road trip, the tournament scene, it just makes me happy to watch I still greatly enjoy the new cast and episodes as well, but if you ever decide to retread this area of going to tournaments I would not be disappointed Plus it would be hilarious to see Adam participating in a tournament event
If you mean at the beginning when they are all conversing about the trip? Each person is filmed separately speaking all their lines with camera movement in the start and end of each line for the transitions (or the picture is zoomed in enough to allow adding that movement digitally). Then two lines are composed back to back generating the illusion of continuous shot with motion blur helping the effect. If you pause you can actually see Kathleen's elbow in transitions from Paul to our left.

Canada sounds like a plane card rather than a land. Canada Plane - Earth At the beginning of your upkeep, draw a card. At the beginning of your end step, if you have dealt damage to a player or planeswalker this turn, discard a card. Chaos: All lands loose all abilities and gain "t: add 2 snow mana of any color" until your next upkeep. Tap all permanents. Exert all permanents your opponents control. All permanents enter the battlefield tapped until your next upkeep.
For the five-color land, I figure it'd just be a Plains Island Swamp Mountain Forest that comes into play tapped and bounces another land to your hand. I'd call it "Lush Caldera."

Well it seems logical that the most metal-heavy set is the one where the cult of rakdos was first featured... Anthem of rakdos is basically a metal concert
that could be the case. But in most of the shots in the car someoone is usually missing. Like in the car jolt scene Graham was not in the back so he must have been in the front next to James, Paul wasn't present some my guess is he probably wasn't able to attend the G.P. at all.
I'm so glad these guys exist, it makes me feel slightly less bad about my own extremely Vorthos geekyness. Between my apartment and my grad school, I can either drive through the city, or take a back road through a community park nestled in a mountain foothill. The latter is winding and kinda dangerous, but it has a lake, some big fields, a even a little marshy area, and of course it's on a mountain and is surrounded by woods. I always feel like I'm channeling WUBRG.
