I’ve been a fan of Our Native Daughters for a while now. I had no clue they’re on the score for this show. This is well deserved for them and world to get to know these awesome musicians.
@@iknowcoding4656 what are you talking about? I’m talking about the musicians getting recognition for their talent. Wtf does this have anything to do with feminism. If you hate musicians who happen to be women just keep it moving and stay out my comments.
What the Native Daughter singer said echoed what Daniel Henney said. He never thought that he'd ever get to be or see an Asian hero in a Western fantasy show, and he was greatful for the opportunity to live his dream.
@@childrenoftolkien An adaptation isn't supposed to be 1:1. An old screenwriting professor (taught Carpenter, Lucas, Spielberg, etc) apparently would ask his students the following: "What do you owe the original material?" The answer? *_NOTHING!_* You owe a good movie (or show) to the (paying) audience. A good book translated word-for-word almost always results in a poor movie or show because part of the reason a book (or game or whatever) is so good is BECAUSE IT TAKES ADVANTAGE OF THE MEDIUM (in the case of a book, the written word). I mean look at the TV adaptation of The Shining. Closer to the book, sure, but as a movie (well, miniseries)? Awful! The book was great, sure, but the feeling of reading said book didn't translate 100% when they tried to do a 1:1. Not saying it's the same case here, but an adaptation should not be the exact same (at most it should strive to transplant the soul of the original material in a new medium).
The one thing was always best in Season 1 the OST! Thank you Mr. Balfe and his great musicians and singers again after so many great soundtrack (His dark materials, Terminator Genisys, Mission Impossible 6!
It is so cool to see Ali in this video. Congrats to Ali and Our Native Daughters and thank you for making this wonderful music for the soundtrack. I've been listening to the soundtrack on repeat for weeks now.
This is fan fiction crap. As a book fan, I knew changes would happen because it would be impossible to adapt otherwise. But this crap is an insult to Jordan and all the fans of the books.
@@hercules5141 absolutely nothing! I LOVE love the song both the artists and everything including the tv show. Doesn't matter. WOT is success for Amazon. I read a article on Variety it's their most watched original show since Hunters. I hope season 2 creates more buzz for it so that it gains a new large fanbase that overshadows the haters and purists. Is the show perfect? No, things can be improved. I believe it will be.
why is the person rand battles is said to be dark one but is referred to as a forsaken(ishamael) in the bts/x-ray? doesnt make any sense if you want to reveal it later or something....stick to one thing (ik its actually a forsaken in the books)
Rand and Moirraine are mistaken in their belief that it's the Dark One and this is due to Suiane being misled by Ishamael. If the show's provided enough seasons, the mystery will be resolved. Members of the audience are being allowed an insight that the characters do not have, yet. It's a stealthy Easter egg. I confess to being curious as to your strategy of posting this query on this particular video. Who did you expect to answer?
I will say watching this CONFIRMED my thoughts as to how ashamed I am of most of human kind especially in 2021! People speak of color, celebrate separate etc.... But we need to preserve is the culture not color just culture. Culture has all skin tones all skin types different features it's the culture that makes humankind not our color IMO, it is culture that separates us and unites us.
Good thing the show perfectly simulates this by having all kinds of different skincolors in the cultures. Too bad everybody really seems to get hung up over that fact... maybe thats what you should really be ashamed of for humanity. I sure am
I feel sorry for these artists!!! Even if they had come up with a divine master piece, it doesn't matter. Because this show is the single worst adaptation in the history of adaptations!!! It's a shame to be honest, they really are talented!
@@tahminnaa I don’t think that’s a good thing to say to book fans. If you keep telling people to not watch it (especially book fans) then sooner or later they WILL stop watching. Which will make it more likely to be canceled before we even get to the really juicy stuff. I think a better compromise would be to just make a better show. Then book fans and non books fans will be happy and tune in through thick and thin and we can make it to the end of this turning.
@@mccoozie1057 Actually the majority of the fans of the show + the reason it's doing so well is because of people watching it who are NOT book fans. So the other person was right. Don't watch. The show is not for you. Buh bye
@@FieryFlamingFajitas No need to be hostile. I’ve actually spoken to a lot of non book readers who started out liking it and by the end of the season have the same issues with it as book readers. It’d be great to appeal to both factions then it would be unstoppable and actually be that “water cooler” show they wanted it to be. Marvel appealed to the fans and its unstoppable. Cowboy Bebop went the “don’t watch it it’s not for you” route and it’s cancelled after one season. I think there’s a happy median of new fans and source fans that can make magic. Either This composer or the editor of the show one of them need to be fired Asap . At first I thought the music was bad , but now I think maybe it was track selections or placement with in the scene was off. Too many time I would hear loud distracting music that just doesn’t match the scene and took me out of the experience,i am not sold in this composition though, doesn’t elevate the show at all .
I am enjoying the show, but the opening music breaks my immersion every time and so I hate it. I don’t know the intended purpose of the electronic sound in the background which sounds like a modern vehicle siren and destroys the fantasy before it begins, but I now mute the theme because it is so distracting and ruins the effect.
That threw me off at first as well, until we learned about the Age of Legends in Ep 8 and the super sci-fi society from 3,000 years before. Then all the electronic sounds made sense, although it did take some time for my ear to get used to it.
