Remodelista visit to The Philip Johnson Glasshouse

A request from the folk who run The Philip Johnson Glass House, "could they use my bed linen?" In The Glass House? THE Glass House? Oh, yes!
I told my good friends at Remodelista, who in turn contacted The Glass House for permission to do a photo shoot.
One day in May, Margot Guralnick and I arrived on site with Matthew Williams, a profession stills photographer.
I took my video camera and shot away myself.

I always liked this house but now I realize it is as more about the surroundings than it is the house. Not a house you want to live in a urban environment. After all what you see when you are inside is mostly outside and not the house itself.

Did Johnson ever have overnight guests at his glass house? There does not appear to be a sofa with pull-out bed. Or closet storage for cots.

There are other houses on the estate where guests could stay, and The Bick House just across the way when he wanted privacy. Local students used to ogle through the windows, which would have been intrusive.
