- Today we tour one of the most unique homes on the planet. A 1500sqft cave converted into this house! Ive seen a couple cave homes in the internet before but nothing as good as this one. The dark academia interior design, goth arches all throughout, vintage furniture and decor, this cave is something the cavemen would drool over. 2 bedrooms (4 beds) and 2 baths, this is the tour of the Dunlap hollow cave house!

What’s 1/4 building materials? $100 sqft x1500 divide by 4 is 38k I doubt you could build it for that

What I found fascinating was the interior decor. Instead of brutal modernism it was historical Gothic style which played upon such a contrast to the rough natural rock ceilings and walls. The over the top crystal chandeliers were part of the contrast of nature versus high style. Truly an amazing abode.

I really liked that too. Not bringing the modern world into the cave and creating a space that triggers imagination and complete escapism.
I noticed that as well! It made the cave feel more inviting and luxurious, but without being tacky.
“Unique” is often overused, but this absolutely is! The cave setting is phenomenal, but the aesthetic finish - arches, velvet, and brass - bring it all next level.

I am blown away! This is by far MY FAVORITE home I've seen to date. I love the use of nature to create a home. I agree, I appreciate that it did not go full-on brutal modern architecture. Obsessed with the mix of modern, gothic, and classical elements. Everything was truly thought all the way through. Sublime truly.
Me too! Ohhhh what I wouldn't give to have this home one day, or one similar!! AND FOR 300k?! I was expecting a lot more, but it's good to know that this style of home would be much more affordable than I would've thought :D
I think this is actually priced very reasonably at 300k.
The novelty of it being a cave home is actually interesting unlike some other home tours where they state a table is made out of marble for the thousandth time or that a stair case has gold trim or something. You really feel like you're one with nature by going in here just by this tour alone. I can't imagine being inside and seeing the spectacle of natural cave being the back wall while more of a human touch is in the living space near the entrance. It's much more than just a nice view out of a window, it's inside and out with a super cozy feel to it.
LOCATION sets the price best believe ....

WOW 🤯Totally blown away by this structure. The Flinestones would've never had it so good. BRAVO to the engineers and all those involved from the idea to final product. Absolutely AMAZING!!!
Of all the home tours I've seen, this is the most impressive. A lot of times the mega mansions have all the appeal of a hotel, but this little gem blows them all away. The interior design is wild. The deep colors in the bedrooms, the gothic arches, and the bookcases!
Looking at this I think being a "caveman" doesn't sound bad at all 😀

The living, dining and kitchen area are all well lit.
This video was way more better because of the aesthetics of the cave home, videography and soothing narration. No extra shouts, not crazy fast edits, no rush, everything was calm and composed. This is my second favorite channel after "The Local Project" when it comes to reviewing dwellers.
I absolutely love this home. It has a soul. Earlier today I watched a 39 million dollar home in the islands that paled in comparison for my taste. Just beautiful.

This is my happy place. They did such an amazing job of making nature and dark academia come together with such style! Everyone needs s dark academia library while looking out onto that beautiful landscape. People are so talented in design.
Definitely a nice and unique house. My main concern would be bugs and water leaking through the roof and walls. Water has a way of finding cracks and small holes so I wonder how they keep it out unless they treated and coated the rocks to make them water proof (I am assuming they did)
The water would be my only concern as well. Even though I don't want them in my house, bugs don't bother me as they are much easier to deal with than water leaking in.

Wow, this place is magical! I love the rich colors and Gothic theme throughout. The enormous glass facade and integration of the natural stone throughout the interior bring such warmth and life into the home. It's truly perfection. Great video, Levi! @@SeanDoe86 Who said I wanted to plaster the wall? I said it's a possibility learn to read before you argue. Apparently you have no clue about what construction requires sometimes in order to improve the strength of the houses.. What about maybe there was a construction of steel required inside to strengthen the ceiling, in that case it's better to cover it up and plaster it with a certain type of art plastering like Italian effects or maybe even a stone plaster effect.

1/4 of the normal building materials, and no cost for the property as it was already theirs. That's quite a bit of money. Probably sell for close to a million.
I dont like interior design but i love the cave! In my next life I will build one for my family. This is dream come true for anyone who loves rocks and magic of nature.

Errm Levi, those are goblets or chalices, definitely not gauntlets! However in such a Stunning place with so much to see, admire and catch your eye I'm not surprised you got mixed up 😊😂 For me, this is absolutely without a shadow of a doubt, the most Gorgeous, sumptuous place you've ever shown 😍😍 I loved every single area, every single piece, the colours, lights, design, decor, attention to detail and accessories are stunning. The owners have put tremendous thought and effort into this place and I'd move in to live in a heartbeat ❤️ Absolutely Phenomenal!

I don't remember any property/video you did that I didn't like (many of them, if not all, were unique by their symbiosis with the locality they were built into and clean, elegant designs), but this house is really something. Exceptionally well done - from everybody involved!

I LOVE this. I'm an author of a vampire series. Set in 2005, Vlad Dracul (not the main character) has retired from the Vampire Council. He's moved into a cave house and, except the windows, it's a LOT like what I imagined when I wrote that chapter. I love seeing it in real life, we may have to do a trip. Thanks for the video!

I’ve been designing a home so similar in my mind for years! I want to build mine in a crystal quartz cave and I want a hot spring and a cold spring on the property with bamboo growing and fruit trees and I want ducks and chickens and a stream with fish
That is an incredible price to build, considering how custom it is! I was thinking $1M plus! I should move to Ohio and build an Airbnb! Also quite unique how they found a pretty dry cave - an incomparable property!

This house is just perfection! i love the style, the dark academia trend. the arches are beautiful- that kitchen though- CHEF'S KISS. Seriously, wow. The arch above the alcove with the oven, the chairs, everything is just perfectly done & not one detail went untouched or unnoticed. I do have to laugh & point something out though....when Levi said what his favorite utensil in the kitchen was & he said the 'golden gauntlet's' I am assuming he meant goblet bc a gauntlet is an armored glove if i am not mistaken! Lol!

WOOOOW!! Stunning place!! I wish we'd have heard about some safety features. I loved the bedrooms because the darker walls really showcased the color of the rock vs the living area with the white walls. I would 100% stay here

Wow, this is amazing! If I lived in this home I couldn't help but wake up every morning feeling incredibly relaxed. All the beautiful stone throughout the entire place makes it feel so warm and cozy. I love it! ❤︎❤︎❤︎ I also love the colors and decor throughout the home.
This is the best luxury home I've seen definitely a dream hom and you'd be pretty much safe from tornadoes or high wind storms the only thing you'd have to worry about is flooding but this is definitely top tier

@@terrirocklover7957 The "caves" in Hocking Hills are really just overhanging cliffs, like the one this house is built in. It is kind of underwhelming and disappointing it is not a dark cave you can walk inside of. And the forest is as beautiful as any forest. It's not an area that is so remarkable that you'd make a trip from outside of Ohio just to see it. But if unique architecture is your thing, you might travel here just to stay in the houses since there seems to be so many cool ones in the area.

@@terrirocklover7957 well if you live in Ohio (or other short drive to HH), it is one of the nicer parts of Ohio for a quick weekend getaway. I just wouldn’t recommend it as a trip to someone from like, Colorado. 😆
