I attended a very bad public school just like everyone else down there. My family was dirt poor. Poorer than most people living in the South Bronx. But I took advantage of the little given to me. Today I am a solidly middle class American. My sons professionals living upper income lives which they carved out on their own, just as I did. So, don't believe what they tell you; believe in yourself. Do not listen to the losers around you. Study, learn, study, learn, study, learn... Do all you can for yourself and when someone attempts to give you a handout remember, they are not doing you a favor. Instead, value the hand up; knowledge that will get you to the next level. I lived in NYC for 35 years. The person at 3:10 is what I called a "unofficial" doorman. These people would open and close the stores door for you at stores hoping for a tip. Never liked that.

I recently went to the Yankee stadium then walked to 1520 Sedgwick avenue. I'd love to have got more of the south Bronx vibe though. A random guy was stabbed whilst waiting for the D train whilst we were there. Thats the train we caught a couple of days after only 6 stops away from the incident.
As a Texan, this atmosphere is depressing asf 😩 where are the signs of LIFE? i.e tress, grass. I see ppl with dogs, where do they use the restroom? So many ppl moving and yet standing still at the same time… and everyone seems to be dragging around some sort of baggage 👀 seems like a chaotic stressful place to live.
In The Bronx, some shops and restaurants have their restrooms open to the public. For example: McDonalds, Target, etc. Public parks/ playgrounds are scattered far apart. I agree this part of NYC can benefit a lot with all the $$$ flowing in the city.
oh ya not to mention these people let there dogs shit anywhere and just leave it there I swear every other block you have to walk over dog shit and on occasions human fececes to.
