What I feel I have learned so far is what appear extremely complicated, you have broken down into simple single function steps, and a few new tools which again simplify some of the processes.

Very impressed with all the blue chips. Great work and video. Thanks for sharing! One of the best channels on TH-cam.

Hey Dan, love your videos and/or ideas. What I really like is that you are not a sell out as other youtubers have become.. (I'll not mention any names). Keep up the great work, and i hope your subscribers/subscriptions continue to rise, though atm it is a small(ish) but fine gathering of followers. Best regards!

Hi and a new subscriber. Ive just picked up a Myford super 7 ( in bits at the moment) so avidly checking TH-cam for good quality lathe work, yours sure meet that criteria.

Awesome work as always! I'm a big fan of tailstock die holders, I'm in the same boat for cutting metric threads, having an imperial lathe.

In my experience the one thing braking in a die holder is the screw holding the die from spinning.

Hi there, if I may, I would suggest clamping the collet holder in the vice with the flats against the jaws, makes more sense.

The camera angle is documentary standard! Super video!

Very interesting, nice work and many thanks for posting. I hate to insert a little moan here but a big spoiler for me is the overhead view of much of the lathework. I love to see the cutting tool up close but when actually vertically overhead it becomes a 2D view - most of the perspective is lost and there's no view at all of the workface.

If you are really wanting to hold tolerances down to tenths you should let the part cool down prior to measuring. Thermal expansion on the stud at the beginning would have made as much or more difference than the emery paper. Good as a challenge maybe but holding tenths on a gear banjo isn't really needed. The chatter when you cut the thread relief sounded to me like it was too high an rpm on your lathe. Excellent perspective on the video, it's cool seeing good quality, well lit shots.

Are you hand feeding the saddle or have you made a power feed disengagement mechanism?
