the coffee in the Guinness glass really sets the tone 😂
I even nearly split the G with my almond milk😂
the red scheme, leather sofas and yellow walls is such a landlord starter pack

The 4th apartment seems great, the one for 1500 eur per month thats 1 bath 3 bedroom. The rest are to expensive for barely enough space 😂
Oh my-definitely budget in for furniture rental storage. So sorry but wishing you good luck!
The first TH-cam video I watched of yours was you looking for an apartment in New York. Full circle moment. Good luck with your search.
I will NEVER understand CARPET in bathrooms.
Soooo gross 😂 one of my biggest pet peeves in life 😂
so so GRIM
It was a 70’s 80’s thing I think
Loved the apartment over looking the fields and water.
The landlords of Ireland love a pop of red x
it's the touch of red theory baby😎😂
Proper loling at this Tara. As a fellow Irishwoman, I can relate to the higgledy-piggeldyness of it all. "The little tiny lonesome pillow on the bed" hahahaa
the pillow sent me
That bathroom with the slopped ceiling gave me student hangover vibes 😂 hope you get somewhere you feel comfortable. I left Ireland years ago, can’t believe those prices! Mental.
for reallllllll the sloped wall over bathtub is copy paste 90's bathroom 😂
I’ve been following since you had only ever lived in Ireland! I’m from the us and now live in England. It’s been great to see you go back to your home and really to see your whole evolution through the years. You’ve always really inspired me and I hope your life back in Ireland is wonderful despite the hard times you’re currently going through ❤
That is awesome! thanks for sticking around for so long and following the journey!
It’s the coffee in the Guinness glass for me 😂❤ and girl I feel you on this - thinking about moving back to London and I can’t believe how much it’s gone up since I left, it’s insanity!
iced coffee game just got patriotic😂 oh girl I know you'll find a spot but moving, what a ballacheee
This is hard because not only do you have to find an apartment you like, but also have to fancy the designs?! That’s difficult. Nice to have furniture provided but at what mental cost must we suffer 😂❤
bahahhaha 'at what mental cost' cracked me up
"staff lunch area" Lmaooo. Love a good dose of witty Tara. I hope your viewing went well !
you should try alternative housing and escape the trap!, i live in a static caravan in the woods for 300 a month, in nature with solar panels.
You can defo request the remove some furniture, in my experience if it’s like one big thing like a bed or a couch they normally agree but will want to leave everything else! 😅
I loooveeed this video 🤣😂 so cool to be included on your journey!
This made me laugh so so much! I come from Wales, but I now live in Kent after living in London for years and this reminded me of Wales too. I saw some things my parents also have in their house - haha. The rabbits on the wall "are they having a dance". Hahaha. I agree, I wouldn't buy a velvet couch again either. I am keeping my fingers crossed that you find your dream place. The Universe has your back! The dream place is waiting for you. Sending love x
LOVE all of this commentary 🥲🥲🥲
Thinking of moving with my daughter to a small two bedroom place July 2025 to Kinsale from Amsterdam…fingers crossed those prices drop a bit by then 😮
Sometimes knowing about design is a real drag 😂😭 good luck finiding a cute spot!
This was hilarious but also so demotivating lol I am gna be stuck sharing a house with strangers forever if I don’t leave Ireland lmao
This was so fun! I’m so nosey so this is my new fave content 😂
well done for staying up beat and positive through this video. That was really grim. I left Ireland 3 years ago and can honestly say i would happily never return. Its just not worth it. (I understand your family situation makes it different)
as I said, one must laugh in the face of adversity 😅😂
It’s definitely worth it…beautiful and full of culture
Where did you move to
Austria, before that i was in Australia and before that i was in Sweden. All much better options than Ireland in my opinion :) @@bearclaire
The grey crushed velvet epidemic 😂😂 the prices are insane!!! For Cork too? Madness
The lone pillow 😂😂
Crazy prices. I haven't lived in Ireland for 7 years and used to pay 400e for my room (and that was pricey). Wages, then rent, and zero to live off and save. It's really sad Eire.
yesss my friend used to pay €350 for a box room and I used to think that was a fortune🙈😂
I’m stressed for you Tara 😂 Irish homes need a major update. You could always get covers for the couches. Best of luck with the apartment hunt x
😅😅😅
Was waiting for this volg. I tried for most if the year last year to rent a house to move back to ireland . With no luck job was withdrawn.and I had to stay put in uk.its a complete nightmare 😊
I don't blame you!
I just feel excited for when we find out that you’ve found your dream apartment 🥹🤭
So entertaining! Really enjoyed this video.
glad you liked it, little different from the usual!
Dying at how similar this is to the Spanish housing market, the crazy prices, the (very) questionable furniture choices! Red kitchen (and even bright green you almost need sunglasses to look at) are a classic around here too. Some of these would have potential if it wasn't for the awful furniture. I'm sure you'll find a homey space, though! Good luck! 🤍
Same here in Italy 😂
The Irish rental market is my roman empire
hahahhaha 💯
Beware with listing 2 I live round the corner and suspect there’s something wrong with it as it’s been listed for over a year.
👀👀👀👀
It's so horrible at the moment. Our landlord is selling the house we have lived in for 5 years and looking in Limerick is horrific. Less than 10 options available currently and only about 3 two beds which is giving me anxiety as we are running out of time
try a static caravan
lighting a candle for ya the stress is horrific!
@@maneskinnnnn7190 that requires land to put it on!
that one in schull is the best!
These are LA prices…..and I’m not even talking DTLA, BH or WeHo. These are 818 (San Fernando Valley) prices. At least these have a bit more charm and space.
irish homes can really lack in the architectural style/charm area sadly
😆 ehm not gonna lie, but when we was looking for house near Cork like few months ago.. the interior in most of the house were almost the same... just nah.. but we got lucky and fond nice house without furniture so we were happy, still got stuck with not so nice bathrooms tho... and the prices... no comment 😅
i'm just glad i'm not the only one seeing the patterns 😂
love love love
It’s the grey on grey - the influence of Mrs Hinch knows no bounds
omg the way I referenced mrs hinch during covid but cut it out cause I didn't think anyone would get it😂😂 spot on
I love Ireland my favourite country
I’m in wexford currently and i have maybe a 10th of the options you have!! never seen more than 1-3 rentals available at a time 😭😭 mobile homes sound more doable
that's tough i'm sorry!
Rent prices are extortionate. I can't believe you said these are NYC prices! Shook
oh yeah you could totally get a cute studio or one bed in manhattan or brooklyn for €2000-2500!
I absolutely hate that most rentals come furnished. I think it’s because the Irish rental market was more catered to students. But now there are loads of people in their 30s / 40s who cannot afford to buy so have to rent! The market should really change to reflect that.
furniture is so expensive so I get it to a degree and it would be fine if it was a mix of different ranges but it's all so similar 🙈😂
@@TarMarz so true! I was lucky and the apartment didn’t come with too much furniture. So can make it my own with a couch cover and mixing in my own stuff! But when we do buy we have none of the essentials to move in with. Couch covers are the key in Irish apartments 😂
so much red 😂 good luck Tara!
pray 4 me
Whyyyyy is it that all Irish rentals have either: grey/black or red/black colour schemes, black and glass furniture, pine dining tables and taupe/beige bathrooms 🙈
Currently working with all of the above except the red and tbh I took that as a win which is sad 💀
there must be a 2000's dead stock warehouse all this stuff is coming from 😂
some of these flats also need help with where to put furniture!!
Those Cork rental prices, it’s not far off Dublin 😱
The people of cork 🤝 the colour red 😌 lmao
cork landlords taking their pride to the next level😂
you can literally buy a static caravan /cabin already sited for 2,000 euro
Tellllll me more! Considering moving to Galway from abroad, but the stories are giving me pause.
When the second bedroom had white bed but matching red pieces I lost it 💀
it was giving too much and not anything at all simultaneously 😂
I needed more 😂
You might have mentioned this, but are you not able to use your own furniture?
if it's already furnished landlords kinda see you bringing your own stuff (bigger items) as a headache generally I think 🙈
@@TarMarz that’s wild. I understand your headache …
How dare they to ask so much money for such ugly places! How do people in Ireland with a low income live? My income, being sick, is 1200 euro per month..
i live in a static caravan in the woods for 300 a month, before that i lived in my campervan. rent and mortgages are a trap
Are these coming furnished?
I think so. Doesn't seem long time. Btw idk if you’re into nyc vlogs but if so, you might like mine! I’d be sooo grateful if you swung by and took a peek. 🙏 Stick around if you like!
Omg hahahaha. This video is hilarious. “Ireland does love an animal picture on the wall”. My boyfriend and I love LOL-ing at interior choices.
Edit: That extra long headboard in the teal room and your reaction 💀😂
we loveeee being house couch critics it's our fav
As an Irish person who hopes to live in cork in the future, this was pretty depressing to watch :((
hopefully the vid that came after will give you hope!
ugh, suddenly feeling much better about the local copenhagen apartment market
hahahah those scandi apts seem to have more charm!
Awesome
It is, indeed, bad bad 😂
I really do not understand all the red furniture in rentals. It's the same in England. Is it the cheapest colour of sofa or something? 🤮
I could never imagine sleeping on a mattress multiple people have been on nor a couch yuck.
What is with homeowners continued obsession for GREY?! I also keep seeing beautiful houses being painted grey externally, no doubt they're entirely grey inside now too 😑
like give me a duck eggy grey or greige even not straight GREY GREY y'no 😂
I'm on board with you being a hater to these listings xD They deserve it... Also, could you ask a landlord to just take out the furniture? it is quite logic option, right? Right?!...
hahahah they'll just move on to somebody who wants everything - generally landlords are bare minimum effort here 😔
love suits you, u r glooowinnng girl!
Omg all of the apartments just so overpriced and small no way would I pay that amount of money maybe get a caravan much better and park in your parents garden.🤷
Changing my username is lonesome pillow
spat my water out 😂
Surely the rental market will collapse in the UK, it’s unsustainable for the average salary. Good luck in your journey, remember don’t chase - attract! ✨
break free from the system
It’s not the UK
My partner and I looked at Cork for a little while for renting but it's such a joke price-wise even within 50km of a town now 🫠 Looking at buying instead of renting because it works out so much cheaper. Laughing at the awful interiors works beautifully though 😌
we would def but if we could but we both need to be paying tax here for at least a year ❤️ such a strange market to shop around in!
The cream built in unit - a constant image on daft 🫠
painful!
