This has easily become my favourite TH-cam channel to watch. The way you edit and put your videos together is brilliant. Thank you for what is clearly something you work very hard on. Keep up the good work!
Stuart this has to be the best DIY channel on utube your passion knowledge and explaining things in layman's terms is totally incredible,I'm so looking forward to seeing what you have planned next year on this project,
That's the best leaf compost , I've seen since 1971. from a tree plantation. Great Video. A green house in there with the north facing wall, a good start for it.
If you post that plow or whatever it is on a tractor forum you might find someone willing to buy it. I noticed an info plate on it make sure to post a picture of it you would be surprised of how many people might be looking for that piece.
So enjoyable watching you improve your property bit by bit... hopefully you will give us a few hints about this project, to sustain us through out the winter?? LOL Also, do take care with the compost from the ground there... if they were not careful with oil and such, there might be some nasty contaminants in the bottom layer.
For an awful minute I thought you were demolishing where you and Rag 'n' bone had repaired the roof! My poor heart! All I could think of when you were pulling all the leaves down was "is he adding it to his compost". I'm just learning about how to make compost. Want to give it a try and hopefully next year start up a wee bed or two so my brain is wired into that now!! Cannot wait to see what your plans develop into for this space. I know it'll be excellent whatever it is.
Nice to see the progress, the Long log post supports look great for small Swedish fire logs about a hour at least per 12 inch cuts in after felling the ends off.
I have been watching your videos for a while now and you put 100% thought and skill in to any job you do you are going to have this area lovely and smart looking can’t wait to see what you build and what your going to use it for keep up your excellent work Stuart
Stuart, I've been binge watching your channel for a good 4-5 nights now since coming across it one evening. I have to say, your videos are great and your knowledge shines through. I've got a good number of videos to crack on with other the next week or so. So expect to see a constant flow of 'thumbs up' notifications from myself! 🤣 Thanks for everything! Stay safe out there! 🏆👍
Hi, another good video full of sensible points to use on any similar project. May I suggest that you try contacting "the restoration couple" to see if they can use the plough? I believe that they are at your end of the country
Dont know if I can watch this channel anymore. I already suffer from from football envy being a Spurs fan..............but now Im suffering badly from lifestyle envy being a Proper DIY fan. Seriously totally agree with previous posts regarding how entertaining you manage to make these clips.

Glad you didn't leave us waiting till next year for more out-building fun Stuart, but blimey you had me worried at times, particularly where it collapsed at 8:24 ! 😬 Plenty of good compost there to utilise, your postscript made me chuckle, but don't diss the Don, he is the compost master ! 😉😂 Cheers, AndyC.
Looking forward to this one and it didn't disappoint. Well done clearing that lot without any major dramas as there was enough there to risk life and limb. Love the atmospheric music and the tunes (sounds like Disclosure?). Looking forward to seeing the plans for next spring too. Don't forget to enjoy Christmas first 👍🏻
A trolley (platform on wheels with handle to pull it) will help, no end, to “cart” out the rubbish. A decent one would have that plough out in no time.
Should be wearing a safety hat and googles not just against beams crashing but also against thin sharp spiky metal and wood - glad to see you did so when doing the work
Stuart, i love your channel , keep up the great content , i need to light a loft so i will be adopting your method, unfortunately my loft doesn't have much headroom, its partly boarded but i'm 6ft 6inch, i know you explain what your using in projects but to make it easier to know what is needed would it be possible just to put a list of materials and location of where to buy and price at the end of your video so that we could pause and take a screen shot of it for our phones then look at it when we go shopping? Cheers
Always enjoy your content. I do agree with others suggesting a hard hat. Pro tip: a little braching goes a long way as well; heck, you are an engineer 😉
Without wishing my life away, spring can't come soon enough! Looking forward to what you have planned. Also, have you though of a second compost heap?😁
Going forward, build a wire mesh area for your leaves to make leaf mulch. Green waste and leaves, break down in different ways - that's abit of homework for you and the subject of another video!
Looks fun. Interested in the topic I bought “Structures or why things don’t fall down” by JE Gordon and and “Why buildings stand up” by someone Salvadori. I have three sheds in my garden and the oldest and most decrepit has been repaired God knows how many times in what looks like the last 60 years. I wanted to take it down this summer but was too daunted by the prospect so painted the outside of the house instead. I will continue to store coal in the shed as winter and possible power cuts loom.
Stu please hire a small digger for a weekend - they are a bargain and will save your back and you could clear all the groundwork and leaves and even pull that plough out! Money well spent!
You made that look easy, betcha it wasn't. When you get the groundwork done there is multiple things that can be done the mind boggles. Thanks for the update. Later🤔
Hi Stuart, will you be drawing plans for the proposed work on the outbuildings? If so what software, if any, will you use? If you are going to use any, could you do some videos on how to use such software and any tips and/or tricks you may use? Maybe you could do a survey with your viewers and subscribers to see if such videos would be desirable content.
I am probably a bit of weirdo :o) But I would watch a time lapse video of you clearing that whole area ready for your big project... But like I said maybe I am odd.
Looked like a game of real life Jenga going on there Stuart! not sure what your plans are but you do have to be very careful these days as regards contaminated ground. Also burning treated timber is against the law, it is full of toxic chemicals. It is also bad for your own health.
Oh Stuart I'm retired now and really wish I could be there tp help you BUT there is this little thing called an ocean between us! Maybe my cousins in Nottingham and Cambridge can help? Naaa. I don't think so. Oh well good luck anyway!
Just give the local scally scrap lad a call, he'll have all that metal including the big plough on the back of his tranny pickup quicker than you can change the battery on the angle grinder 😂
I’m 2 minutes in, and it’s got me thinking, a guy probably stood where you are 80 years ago, and he cleared a space to build, did a neat job, kept it well, time moved on, age and illness, death, now it’s your turn, and so on and so forth, it never ends really, (unless we use plastic😮). What goes up must come down. Then….. something new must go up…..
This has easily become my favourite TH-cam channel to watch. The way you edit and put your videos together is brilliant. Thank you for what is clearly something you work very hard on. Keep up the good work!
Your good sense of humor makes the difference!

Great fun...... Well for us 😁
Love the mentality, 'you see rubbish, I see compost'
Recycling/up cycling! Tis all going on in Proper DIY
That is some lovely compost!

Thanks. I loved that!
Excellent

That was a mission! Glad you stayed safe and look forward to your Spring project too. Nice one Stuart.
Monty bloody Don… hilarious. Hoping for a new Patron there Stuart 😂😂😂
Nice to see the progress, the Long log post supports look great for small Swedish fire logs about a hour at least per 12 inch cuts in after felling the ends off.
Funny how it heald up, great job. Yes save all that leaf mould, sooo good.
I have been watching your videos for a while now and you put 100% thought and skill in to any job you do you are going to have this area lovely and smart looking can’t wait to see what you build and what your going to use it for keep up your excellent work Stuart
Great vid Stuart! Your expression on the stability of the roof was priceless!
Superb content again...if you like that sort of thing...which many of us do!. What a nice chap to boot!
The two pronged thing you said " I haven't got a clue what it is" could be a rear tractor mounted bale fork
I think you need a secondary composting spot nearer the outbuildings! Looking forward to hearing more about the future project

Some good hard grafting there Stuart! Well done m8, starting to take shape.

Some good leaf mould and earth you pulled off that roof.
The 'support' definitely made me twitch nervously
Looking forward to seeing how it goes Stuart.👍👍

Looking forward to seeing the plans for next spring too. Don't forget to enjoy Christmas first 👍🏻
Everyone loves a "demolition day". If you found body parts you should have call the police 🤣Looking forward to what goes up on your new real estate.
That car wing and bonnet look like they could be from a Cortina or possibly Granada.
Worth some money if in overall good condition.
Granada mk2.
Great start to the demo work with plenty more to do.Looking forward to see your progress and what your final plans for the area will be.
Great video, thanks 😊
i love to watch your videos Stuart for some reason they really help me keep going mentally thank you 👍👍👍👍
You're having way too much fun there. Demolition & power tools with a hint of danger. That's a good day!
A trolley (platform on wheels with handle to pull it) will help, no end, to “cart” out the rubbish. A decent one would have that plough out in no time.
🤣 Was that a formally recognised & calibrated structural integrity test of the inspection pit cover? We alI knew exactly what was coming...😛
You can't beat a bit of demolition tomfoolery, that looks the perfect site for a Man Cave, well hidden out of sight.
Loving this series Stuart. I'm gonna have to go cold turkey over the winter!
I really enjoyed this episode of gardeners world ! all you need is a big dopey dog to complete the picture……😂
You need a scrap man Stuart , you would get a bob or two for all that, nice work by the way.
Loving your work Stuart. Entertaining to the end :) Cant wait to be inspired by your spring project.
Glad you enjoyed it
Depends where you are I’ve got a 4x4 I can bring down to move that plough?
Great video. Would love to see the plough up cycled.
"I've no clue what it is" - it is a round bale lifter for a tractor. Will sell on ebay even with rust.
Should be wearing a safety hat and googles not just against beams crashing but also against thin sharp spiky metal and wood - glad to see you did so when doing the work
Everyone loves a bit of demolition and that was no exception 😀

A handy way of getting rid of rubbish.
Without wishing my life away, spring can't come soon enough! Looking forward to what you have planned. Also, have you though of a second compost heap?😁

nothing like a good demolition before the weekend..remember and report those body parts someone may be missing them?
Body parts? You should call the Police!
Another as always great video Stuart 👍
Stu please hire a small digger for a weekend - they are a bargain and will save your back and you could clear all the groundwork and leaves and even pull that plough out! Money well spent!
Intesting video - couple of questions did you weigh in the scrap? What is the pit going to be filled with?
Another great video.....🙂
Free compost always a good thing
Fortified Compost. A marketers dream!
I'm guessing the spring project is going to be a cabin or maybe a new workshop
You certainly ploughed your way through that lot well apart from the plough that is 🤣🤣 can't wait to see what you have planned mate.
Your frame has been designed against disproportional collapse. ;)
Great video ,can you tell me what pole saw that was as I’m looking to buy one ?
You made that look easy, betcha it wasn't. When you get the groundwork done there is multiple things that can be done the mind boggles. Thanks for the update. Later🤔
Time to buy a wee grey Fergie Stuart!!
Still love the DIY and Engineering crossover 😅
Make a garden feature of the plough
How long did it take you start to finish? 1 day job or was that several just passed together?
Wow Where's this spot come from? I thought you lived in a fairly new build property
Hi Stuart, will you be drawing plans for the proposed work on the outbuildings? If so what software, if any, will you use? Monty, bloody don 😂
Looks like a mk5 Cortina wing at the start. I’m sure the Ford boys would give you some money if it’s in fair condition😂
Have you offered the plough to Tim? Buyer collects!!
Great stuff....whereabouts are you based?
I think you should buy the Komatsu D575A with a shovel... and hop nothing..
Will ragnbonebrown be making another appearance in the spring then?
I'm curious to see what's down that hole 🤔
hopefully that compost on the floor isn't contaminated with oils and what not
u can find some treasure underneath tht compost
I am probably a bit of weirdo :o) But I would watch a time lapse video of you clearing that whole area ready for your big project... But like I said maybe I am odd.
I must admit when I saw that inspection cover, I was getting serial killer dungeon vibes.
Looked like a game of real life Jenga going on there Stuart! not sure what your plans are but you do have to be very careful these days as regards contaminated ground. Also burning treated timber is against the law, it is full of toxic chemicals. It is also bad for your own health.
When you carried out the telephone pole, it looked like you were coming from a mine shaft. Was that a World War II bunker???
Oh Stuart I'm retired now and really wish I could be there tp help you BUT there is this little thing called an ocean between us! Maybe my cousins in Nottingham and Cambridge can help? Naaa. I don't think so. Oh well good luck anyway!
Beware of asbestos on the roof
Eat your heart out Monty bloody Don! 😂
Can't believe your not wearing a hardhat in there! I mean, you've got the gloves so why not protect your loaf!! 🤔
I think a hard hat would have been a good idea
"Monty bl**dy Don"!! 😁
Just give the local scally scrap lad a call, he'll have all that metal including the big plough on the back of his tranny pickup quicker than you can change the battery on the angle grinder 😂

Great progress, but do not disrespect The Don.
Get yourself a decent wheelbarrow with a double wheel or you will spend the next year filling and emptying that tiny little one you have 😂😂😂
You could play this video backwards and title it:
"How to build a compost roof".
eat your heart out monty bloody don lol!
😎
😅
Excellent well managed demolition. But please, stop using the awful music 😮
Another fantastic video. Myself and my wife enjoy way hung your videos whilst we are in bed together.
Fix your broom
