My dear, dear Sisay. I love seeing her soar. I dont play her at cEDH level, but I do love me some legends.
I find it hard to play in her in casual. No matter what kind of build I make she is still just so good.
@@cedhtv Same here. Its why she is "banned" from my tables by myself. Last time I brought her out to play as a combat matters deck was... a thing, for sure. Still, always looking for Sisay decks and all. Love your content btw~
Thank you. I just remeberd I have a casual sisay deck that finds legendary lands only. It uses valakut and makes all lands into mountains. Then activate sisay find a legendary land and get valakut trigger. Kinda fun and silly.
That's a good showcase of why I'm a bit saddened by your transition to those statistics videos.
Because as a Sisay lover, I would love to hear an hour interview of this tournament winner and his thought process on why he values this more creature/planeswalker version of Sisay over some turbo stuff for instance.
I always get the feeling we're loosing a lot of the synergies/identities of a deck by just looking at raw data (even though i recon you try your hardest to let those things into yournstatistical analysis).
I am not going to lie. These Data videos are not the most popular. But I have never made videos to focus on what makes most views. There are so many claims and opinions that my player experience dissagress with that I just want to have some proof of what is true. Kinda why I make these. No one else seams to make videos like this so some one have to do it.
Currently there are a lot of podcast style of cEDH content out there. And I don't mind recommending other youtube channels. Lemora cards something or mind sculptors comes to my mind togheter with playing with power and play to win ... yeah there are quite a bunch of cEDH podcast when I start thinking about it.
I personally also want to do podcast videos of cEDH but there is so much on my plat with this and the gameplays that it is hard to fit the time.
But I do still make these interjuvew deck tech videos aswell now and then. They are quite hard to make with timezones and such.
So to answer in short. I want to do what your asking for. But I think these videos are important. Others are kinda doing what your asking for. And I hope to do more of what your asking for but time is short. But now and then it will happen.
@cedhtv I truely respect your your point of view.
Hell that's why you're my favorite MTG youtuber in the first place.
Your explanations, reasoning and knowledge is always top notch and interesting.
That's why I'll never unsubscribe and keep on watching you videos.
Because they make me think about the game in a way the others don't.
That said, as someone who kinda works in statistics,, I'm always a bit scared to take those results as proof of something is right. Or at least where the winrate is like above or below 1.5% the original one.
There is so much at play between player skill expression, metagame, or even drawing said card and it actually having an impact on the game in any shape or form.
I wouldn't trust the p-value on this without the sample size being significantly bigger (good news tho itneansnI'll be convinced in a a year or two when the database starts taking off ^^).
Of course it shows when it's like 4 points below like Underworld breach. But I'll take your analysis on why it's bad over thoses numbers any day of the week.
Because you play Sisay and have been in situations that a computer can not comprehend the depth.
Long story short, for me you're the best there is and any direction you take with your channel, I'll follow you as long as I can hear your thought process. Because it will always be the most interesting for me.
@@pierrebuthaud7640 I think this is an important conversation thread. The points you raise about statistical analysis without context, with sample size, and with the win-rate deviation needed to show significance are all incredibly important to be injected into the subject matter. Mons also makes a fantastic point about how he's filling a void in the market, and pointing out that, in order to fly, he first has to run, and in order to run he first has to walk. We'll get there, but right now we have basically one guy doing this, and until there are others helping to push this niche forward, we are moving at his rate. For now, we are all responsible for what our takeaways are from these videos. There is 100% value here (as you acknowledged), but it is up to us individually to determine what that value is to us, and how to utilize the data to our benefit. Good stuff.
@@SenorCoupon extremly well said and a very nice overall conclusion to this debate.
Thank you sir
Looking at individual cards might be a bit overkill , as often cards are groups and come together.
So if you play one card you also play another that goes well with it.
That means these combinations of cards matter more than the individual card and if people dont play them together, they have worse results, than if they do play them together.
Thats especially true for Sisay, as it combos with multiple cards you have to search after another, or just having them in your deck gives you more replacements for different needs.
CORRECT! When I started I only looked at individual cards. But after more and more development into this I have figured out more and more way to do this. and now I can look at groups and even groups + exlusion. The individal cards are still there and I do think it gives some info. But yes I am moving more and more into the group cards concept.
Very good analysis!
Thank you!
Love the videos! And breakdown. Now I have statistics to backup my choices. Thank you!
Your welcome.
Very cool breakdown as someone new to cedh who is building sisay.
Then this should help alot I hope.
im on the same spot 😂
Best video yet! Wow super great multi card analysis!
Thank you! I put a lot of work into these so I am glad they come to use.
Love your videos! Thank you so much for your hard work!
Thank you! I am glad you like it.
Useful video thanks! I have some doubts about performance of invasion of ikoria as a tutor, blind obedience as an stax piece to slowdown opponents, sevines reclamation for recursion, and resculpt as a removal ... I also got impressed about the creature tutor line since most of the decks I saw while doing my list dont run chord of calling or finale of devastation
Another great video about Sisay really likes it!
Glad you like it.
I forget who this is but I've seen this winner before in videos.
And as always thx for breaking it down. ❤
I got my kutzil stopped by force of will. Next turn kinnan won with no counter magic 😂 sisay definitely can become the target off of certain cards.
Personally, I love these kinds of videos
I'm so sad that Kalain has such a bad winrate. For a Selvala line she seems like such a perfect card to play from hand. Gets you a treasure for a potentially earlier Sisay activation and gets Sisay to the perfect power for Selvala on end-step into Derevi the next turn, etc. She also just doesn't really do much on the board so isn't a threat that people would try to remove unless all of your legendary permanents are getting focused.
Hi, thanks for the video. This is some of my favourite cEDH content right now.
I have a slightly odd question/request: Could you look at Roaming Throne in Magda? The reason it's odd is because it's not really a debatable include (bc it's in about 100% of lists since printing) but instead gives a picture of Magda's win rate before and after roaming was printed. My instinct is that it's massive for the deck, but I would like to have that opinion validated by data.
I don't think I need to look at my data for this card. It looks good for magda. Like really good. Looks like an autoinclude to me. I am not a magda player. But I would play it.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm interested in how good it actually is. I feel like there could be a 5 percent wr gap before and after the printing. It has a meaningful impact on the game with high frequency in my experience.
As someone who adores statistics, can you please run me through what test you used to get your p-values?
the Null Hypothesis (H0) states that there's no significant difference in average winrates between two player groups: 'WINS' (players who won games) and 'LOSS_DRAW' (players who lost or drew) in tournaments. H0 assumes that any winrate differences are likely due to random chance, not a real advantage. TWe try to statistical test checks if the data supports rejecting H0 and concluding a meaningful difference in winrates between these groups.
From what I’ve seen, Sigarda is tech against Bowmaster. If the damage is tight but killing an important piece, you can get it and hopefully save said piece and having 2 more power on Sisay. But that’s the ironic part, if people are targeting you that much then is she really enough?
I play T&T and have swapped from Turbo Druid to midrange and I'm personally struggling if I still want Ad Naus or not. I run too many stony silence effects to have The One Ring as my card advantage engine but at the same time, I'm not leaning into turbo Ad Naus either. I've oriented it into a more silver bullet style deck that utilizes creature combos like Devoted Druid + Vizier of Remedies. I've been thinking about dabbling with Delney, Streetwise Lookout in conjuction with creatures like Derevi and Breena but it might be too cute
Hard to say. Deleny is to new. I don't think she is that good with sisay but I could be wrong.

Hi do you have a discord? I recommend wiriting to me on discord. micromonkey is my name. esier to answer there. I will answer you here if you don't write to me on discord. But it might be tricky to read my answer. better have a back and forth disscussion on discord.
Most of you request don't have enough games to say anything. (That is why I recommend write to be on discord as you have a long list). BUt here are some that have an answer and some games.
Rocco + chord + final = 29,58% winrate from 73 tournaments.
Ashiok + blind + deafening silence = 22,94% from 23 tournaments.
And once again the rest didn't have enough tournaments to say anything.
After your video on silence im surprised to see you on veil of summer.
Your sisay combo lock seems very proactive. I would think silences has more versatility in the deck.
Do you value the hexproof more on a bowmasters meta?
The sisay list I showcased is quite old. But yes I need protection. It is mostly for abrupt decay and blue bounch spells to save my creatures as I combo off.
I know it’s a pretty narrow topic, but have you looked at the data for “playing as a companion” for Jegantha or Lurrus?
That is really hard to do. Like my system tells me if jegantha is in the deck. Not if it is as companion or in the 99. I have tested some tricks like inlcude jegantha and samut but exlude force of will and emile. There were quite to few games but the winrate was quite high.
@@cedhtv Interesting, thank you! Data can be very tricky at times, so I appreciate you doing everything you do with these series.
Excuse me sir, could you please review the card "Dynaheir, Invoker Adept" for Sisay please. I use it and it performs great for me but I'm wondering why it doesn't have more traction. Is it just a win more card?
short answer a bit to expensive and winmore. Not really good for sisay. Haven't seen it apper in any sisay dataset really that I have.
@@cedhtv thank you so much! I want to say I'm a huge long time fan, and I love your content. Thank you and your team for all you do.
Thoughts on Leyline of the Guildpack? Would make any legend make sisay a 7/7 I believe.
Thing is it dosen't do anything more then that. Sure it makes lands tap for everything but fetchlands and shocklands will fix that for you. It is quite expensive if you don't have it in the opener. and sisay don't have to be a 7/7. She naturally gets there anyways. I just think it is a dead card outside the opener.
@@cedhtv makes sense, maybe as an option in another brew of your Valakut list.
Where do you get your data from?
edhtop16.com/?tourney_filter__size__%24gte=64&tourney_filter__dateCreated__%24gte=1659422080&colorID=null
Then I grab the decklist from moxfield and do some math myself.
hey i have a question, ive watched this countles times now, how can i access this same type of information you see on statistics between winning and losing decks
just asking because there is a lot of cards ive seen sisay players run like sylvan library and long goodbye but i havent seen any information if its actually good to have them in your deck
I have all the data on my computer. I download moxfield decklist and look at thier wins and losses and I do all the math.
why not include imperial seal?
In short. If you think of tymna that card draw the card right after casting im seal. Compard to sisay that search and don't draw. You simply don't have that natural way of getting it to your hand right away. Is kinda just feels of. That has been my and others feelings about it.
These statistics videos r getting boring and not that useful, from my pov u should be explaining how the combos work, maybe do a small interview to the pilot on why he played certain cards over others, looking at raw data and win rate doesnt explain that much, just because lots of people run a card doesnt mean that we all need to do exactly the same, there should be room for improvement and creativity, idk just my 2 cents, thank u for work man !
Strongly disagree, it may be “boring” to you or others but this is necessary info to get a grasp on a whole deck type, it’s needed information especially for people trying to grind tournaments.
I have a alredy made videos of how these comboes work. All of them. Showcasing them again in this video could get repetitive for some people. It is just hard to plese everyone. But I guess I could add some links to how they work in the future.
I like making interjuve videos. Don't get me wrong. They are good and also serve a purpose. But. They are hard to make. Timezones are tricky.
