Big fan of this game's dialogue. It's like everyone talks like they're in a great Scottish fable. Combined with the stop-motion aesthetic it really sells the folktale angle this game's going for.
It makes me think of some old children's programming which I would see on TV as a kid sometimes.
The pitched voices makes me think of Gumby.

As a stop motion animator myself, I had aspirations to make a stop motion game someday but didn’t know if it was possible. Seeing this, I am encouraged to pursue that dream.
You know what I want? A stop motion animation game that looks like those old lego stop motion animation videos I used to watch in 2008. It needs to happen.

I'm only 3 minutes in as of posting this comment, and I'm loving this. It's so weird, yet so incredibly endearing. The fact it's stop motion alone is impressive enough, but to roll with such a strange, unrefined art style like this? All I can say is Hell Yeah.
You may find something interesting in the Zeno Clash series too. It's set in a world with hardly any humans, full of freaks, chimeras, aberrations and mutants with inspirations ranging from the works of Hieronymus Bosch or the Drolatic Dreams of Pantagruel, to less known prehistoric animals.
Had a prequel from 2023 by name of Clash: Artifacts of Chaos which is a lot more vibrant in colors, has a crosshatching filter, and the protagonist is one of the weirdest Zenos in the series thus far.
Lost in Random is lovely in its art direction and creatures too.

This is the kind of game you can never experience again. It's just so... Judero and I 'aven't another way to describe it. The entire section with Mab and the townsfolk after convinced me to go through this myself

18:00 The guy who did this is named Jack Spinoza, who did a bunch of RPGMaker games, one of his series being Will you ever return? I first heard about him after seeing an Azuritereaction vid on the sequel: Will you ever return? In da hood, starring Will Smith in a DOS-Era fever dream game

We're getting used to seeing more Scots in games to the point where I no longer need the subtitles to understand them.
These are extremely subdued Scottish accents. Listen to two Scotsmen chatting shit, survival not guaranteed.

This is a true love child of Neverhood and Dink Smallwood. Amazing atmosphere, style and soundtrack, and the voice actors are peak.
Mab is a name I used in a bit of writing at one point. It's a traditional name for a Fae spirit, dating back to at least the Shakespearian era. Go figure, I used her as a rabbit-like character as well.

I'm used to seeing it assigned to the queen of the unseelie court. =)

This game is so endearing... What.... what's happening to me? Am I...appreciating artistic expression more?
I know the game can be seen as very funny, but I find myself taking the game fairly seriously. As strange as it is, just approaching the game and it's characters with the same sincerity that they seem to have for their own world (and ditto the music too)
Heck yeah, that sincerity, willingness to approach a story in just the way it presents itself, is a heartening approach! Weird games shouldn't be enjoyd "Despite" looking or being weird, that'd imply we can only enjoy them in an ironic and perhaps cynical way.
There's games out there that are strange, out there, not for everyone, or sometimes even provoke, but those that resonate with them can do so *very* strongly. I've had this with the likes of Darksiders (somewhat mild case in this example) to Cookie Cutter and Zeno Clash, and others i can't rightly think of.
Can strongly recommend looking into those other games i mentioned, too. Zeno Clash had a prequel in 2023 by name of Clash: Artifacts of Chaos.
Cookie Cutter at first glance may come across like it's being edgy or immature for the sake of it, owing to various visual and verbal dirty jokes but for as much as there can be dirty humor, the game doesn't go out of its way to point out its own weirdness or turn the story into a joke.
Protagonist got mangled and beaten to near death, her lover got kidnapped, a friend helped her back on her feet, and now she's out for revenge and to save her loved one. It plays this plot serious.
Some characters react to the protagonists body-integrated companion in appropriate ways, but they don't linger on it and discuss other story developments or subjects just fine.
Hope this got you interested! And keep on going with that approach that you describe-- like i said, it's very heartening.

The album _Peasant_ (2017) by Richard Dawson has a very similar feel to this game and its music, if you're looking for something else to scratch that itch. It's medieval-ish sounding folk music specific to the traditions of Northern England.

Really, as cool as the art design is, the closer comparison to this game would be the witcher, with the heavy folkloric influence, tongue in Cheek attitude towards fairy tales, and stoic warrior protagonist. The vibes in this whole game are immaculate and I'm definitely giving this a shot myself whether of Vinny picks it up for future playthroughs or not

Dang I'm lowkey in awe, from the demo I thought it would just rely on its aesthetic, be sub par and otherwise be a "haha funy gaem" (it still is, and even its jank feels nice?) but it's more than that? Kind of is poetic and the humour keeps on going?

i've thought about this gam a lot the past few months. i remember seeing someone else stream this and thinking this is such a sundaycore game. honestly it's a shame it's a prerecord. i would've loved to watch you stream this and see chat's reaction to all the weirdness and charm this game has.
Can recommend looking into Clash: Artifacts of Chaos as well for other colorful strangeness in a genuine world full of freaks, monsters and awesome atmosphere and music.
The visuals in this remind me of a lot of thecatamite's work, particularly the use of clay and paper figures

Took me a bit to get used to the art style but once I did, yeah, this game looks incredibly pretty. It's nice to see something completely different once in a while.

I think I can safely say that there is no other game that LOOKS anything like this. Maybe kind of like Hylics but that’s a stretch. I have to give it to the devs to have the courage to see this project to its completion like this, it’s oozing with charm.
