Hey Qloud, here at the hallmark of finishing Clear Sky, I just wanted to let yoy know, you're the only STALKER youtuber I watch, and your content is both wonderfully engaging and simultaneously a good listen for tucking in for the night. Love your stuff, love your ambience, keep it up! Can't wait to see what you get up to in the well-awaited sequel, my man. 👌
That "weird noise" from the NVG's is exactly the sound old gen 1-2 NGV's used to make .... dunno about newer ones but older ones defo made that exact sound .......
When they give me Gauss Rifle I'm lowering the difficulty to the easiest so I can beat Strelok without messing with teleporters. Or break his AI with quicksave/quickload combo, but that not always work due to mods... Congrats on completing the most rough game in the series - Call of Pripyat is pretty casual and chill experience in comparison. With all those stashes around and respawning artifacts - there's little to no challenge with exception of Pripyat Underground and final push. As for those poltergeists in the toxic underground section - they levitate over the electric "sphere" you're trying to hit. Same apply in Anomaly and Gamma or other mods. You don't need to waste antirads - just remove artifacts from your belt (except those with -X rads) which is useful outside of combat where those antirads would be helpful.
The cinematic level on some of these missions from a game this old is rather legendary. Thank you qloud for scratching the itch while I wait for stalker 2. Got a week off to play it 🙏 Keep up the great content fellow stalker
Thanks again for the awesome playthrough, man. Really appreciate your efforts (especially when you're under the weather) can't wait to see your reaction to STALKER 2 next week or so!
I have never in my life been jump scared at a video of a video game (the village) until now, so.. thanks for that I guess. At least it got you too. Looking forward to your Stalker 2 content my dude.
Thanks for the refresher on cs, finished it awhile back but was pretty much blanked on it, Your laughing decent into madness at the end there was not in vain lol. Played through radiophobia after checkin that playthrough but passed on cs, lookin forward to checkin out the cop play, ggs
The story of this game is so weird. Out of nowhere, you are introduced to the Gaus rifle and needs to shoot at Strelok multiple times but it doesn't kill him?! Wtf. Great video, btw. As always.
that's because Clear Sky was rushed in production, zero underground level (4-5 in SoC and 2 in CoP) and at the hospital part the game was supposed to be take you into the underground section to reach the power plant but got cutted. The cutted level was then used in CoP to reach the third area with a team from what i've read. From the 3 games CS was also the most buggiest, i played them at release and CS had a save destroying bug which got only fixed after 5 patches and when the bug hit ALL save files were corrupted and the game would crash at area transmission. The faction war system as major feature was and is still totally broken because the AI controlling it stopped at some point and no more faction groups spawned to try to take over outposts.
@zaris9598 wow, thanks a lot for the background. I didn't know that, and it's good to know the context of the development, so it's more clear to me the decision making. Thanks again!
As for the end, the lore would be, after you take down Strelok, the Collective- Consciousness or C-Consciousness, triggers a failsafe, rendering all organic life forms, capable of free will or independent thought, incapacitated in a comatose state, around the CNPP , think of an EMP being dropped in a room full of electronics, their brains get fried. The surviving one's, that didn't get zombified, then get snatched up by the reserve monolith forces and put in a mental or a psychological conditioning chamber. My take on it. There was an experiment where people would be shown, for a fraction of a second, blurrs of ads or suggestions on commercials in theaters. Turns out, when you see some of these, you're actually more prone to doing what the message implied. Mental programming or conditioning. With flashing images and substances, additional shock, via, rude awakening techniques. Though, this is purely suggestion. It puts a nice psychological spin on the game, you really get to it more once you feel akin to the character. Kinda like black ops. Not implying, that mind control or suggestion and hypnosis is real or anything 😮😂
34:38 , And I thought, I had a short attention span. Qloud, you just casually missed a grenade launcher, bulldog6 from what I can recall, on the box in that room 😅
i love stalker, but these videos have made me realize that at no point in my life do i need to go back and play the original games. the last bit of this video would have made me go insane
Hey Qloud, just here to let you know there is STCOP 3.7 for Call of Pripyat too and I recommend this over Gunslinger. 100% vanilla story and gameplay wise (unlike Gunslinger), all the bug fixes and of course great gunplay. You can install Absolute Nature 4 and minor graphics mods if you so choose, just like in STCS. Cheers and happy hunting!
"I'm constantly out of stamina and the enemy throws grenades".... carries 14(!) energy drinks and grenades himself :) Those scripted sequences are action set pieces, gotta approach it like COD. Nade spam, covering fire -> advance (repeat until magical door opens)
*Sees the construction building *Flashbacks ensue. There were soo many, and every time I though I had them all, I'd turn around to another peering at me through some combination of elevated angles and crevices. 😖
The random teleport happened to me in gamma in truck cemetery at night. I hopped into the back of a truck that had a conex container in it and it sent me deep in the woods near by, scared the shit out of me.
If you're going to play Call of Pripyat and want a GAMMA-like experience, I recommend the Misery mod, and you will probably find it pretty familiar since most of Anomaly's survival/gear-related mechanics came directly from it (Anomaly is a descendant of Call of Misery which was a very direct fusion of Call of Chernonyl and Misery). That said, Misery's difficulty is a very steep downwards S-curve - the difficulty is brutal at the start (way more so than GAMMA) but once you have a decent suit and some artifact modules and catch yourself some fire artifacts, you will legit become so tanky you would have to knife-fight a pseudogiant to be in any danger. I recommend an addon that makes the economy a bit more forgiving if you want a shorter playthrough before STALKER 2 - plenty of those.
I played this vanilla last year and it was only in the hospital that I figured out to get bullet tracers back by lowering the graphics API. This mod makes it seem so much more fun though with a decent weapon overhaul. I'm playing CoP and I'm nearing the end, ready for S2 :D
Also, this, much like the vanilla Soc was a homing grenade Simulator. You toss one their way, 5 more come flying toward you, directly under your feet, with a 1 second delay fuse. Soooo many quick saves 😢
There is one problem you will have with Call of Pripyat if you want the best ending you will have to complete all missions and quests i recommend you chek the wiki on the requirements to get the best ending if that's your desired path i doubt you will finish CoP with best ending otherwise.
Sadly you missed some interesting side quests that can reward you with good weapons. Also you completly ignored artifact hunting. Bonus wound healing and health regen can save a lot of money. I also noticed that enemies just don't shoot at you some times. The end game in vanilla is harder because AI will shred you with bullets in no time, plus grenade spam remains the same. Maybe you can try joining one of the 4 factions and destroy it's ideological enemy. Waiting for Call of Pripyat
Is a good mod but is his firsts time playing the og saga so i wouldn't recommend it, i rather prefer play a mod like gunslinger or complete than such a difficult mod in the very first time
@@Mista_G It may not be more difficult (I can't remember as it was many years ago for me now) but I do remember spending hours breaking down weapons etc. to get components necessary to progress or maintain your items. It was a tedious grind especially when you were at the hobo stage in the beginning and it cost more in ammo to kill a mutant than you got back in selling its parts (I loved it though). I would love to see him play Misery at some point for sure!
1 week to go🤗😆🤗😆🤯🤯🤘 yoooooo. Holy Shit i been waiting forever. I think it will be excellent. I just don't want to get my hopes up to high. They should be able to deliver. With all updated graphic tools, mechanics technology and engine upgrades it should be something very special. I really hope they put alot into the story as well. I guess someone could always mod it if anything is maybe subpar.
One thing that is the same for the first two STALKER games is that the ending death marches aren't the strongest. Call of Pripyat is better in that regard and is where the stalker you'll know from Anomaly starts to show through. I'm glad you found the poltergeist party basement. No one has fun in the party basement but I got a bubble when I succeeded which was worth the 20 reloads.
Anyone else use the Forester glitch to fill his room with Vintar rifles after completing the Compass mission? (It’s been a while, but I think you hit ESC after you get the “item received” bleep but before he’s done talking, you get the gun, but you can talk to him again and you get the reward again. Repeat until bored.) I have a screenshot with over 100 of them littering the floor.

The poltergiets are annoying in every game/mod, Weird hitboxes and almost no indication even if you actually hit them. I really hope they'll be more developed in STALKER 2.

Zombie programming, that is how the c-consciousness controlled stalkers. Clear-sky is by far my favourite of the games, and your criticism is fair.
