I have a 2002 2500hd that 33" were too small so I Just put 35's on it today& only had to trim 1inch of plastic/ end of the front bumper off. Looks and rides great!
You should be able to. It honestly depends on how your torsion bars are. If they’re turned up from stock height you should be able to. Mine are only turned up a little and I still had to trim a little. Depending on the turn my 33’s rub a little. Not enough to care but I can hear it sometimes.
Lol it better fit, I fit 33x12.5x20 -44 on my 06 1500 crew, with out cranking the keys and minnor metal trimming, my truck looks amazing now with atturro trail blade MT, such a great tire too
Billy Wilson sorry I just saw your comment, yes, I just had a set of 285/75/16 tires installed a few days ago and I love it. It was like I installed a lift at the same time lol.
Craig the farmer I like the 07 body style better. But yes the (4x4) models will sit higher as they are typically leveled already. 2 wheel drive trucks will have a lower front end due to (rake) from the factory.
2001 2500HD, just got it off craigslist. Tires are pretty worn, and for about the same price as new tires I can get shiny new wheels with a brand-new Firestone tires already mounted off craigslist, quite a bit bigger which would look great. however I am wondering if the wheels would fit. It appears to be the same bolt pattern , the tire size on the new wheels would be 275/70/ R18, any thoughts?
I put 285 so 275/70 should be just fine. R18 is just the rim size so that doesn’t affect the outter diameter. Just make they’re 8 lug GM or dodge and the correct bolt pattern. 👍🏼
Not sure but something is bent on your truck to be that close with 31” tires? Most people have 33” tires and 20x10 wheels and they fit fine, 35’s for also with a small trim on front bunper
Looking to put a set of 18" (8.5") wheels from a '20 Trail Boss on my stock 01 2500HD (currently with the puny stock 245/75/16's). Will 275/65/18 tires fit ? Obviously want to stick with E load.
@@HandsOnDismantler Well $hit...duh [facepalm]. Good point...was so focused on the size I didn't even consider that. 8 bolt on my 01 and 6 bolt on these 2020 Trail Boss wheels. Thanks for pointing that out.
Yes! If you’re upgrading your tires to a much larger size like I did in this video. You should get your spare tire swapped out too. You don’t have to get the same “expensive” matching 33 inch tire but the spare should be matching in size. Even if it’s a HT but your vehicle has AT. Or MT tires

Thats awesome! I have heard of people saying they get bigger tires but i have not seen it yet.
I’m looking into doing the same thing. So you were able to fit 35s on stock lift, just slight trimming????
I’ll be putting 35 on my Hd today as well wish me luck

Jon Allen tread on that tire must have worn down 2 inch’s 😂
My 2002 2500hd 4x4 stock fit 33s x 12.50 on stock rims no rubbing
37 fit on stock gmc HD ONLY NOT 1/2 TON TRUCK
Yup! I finally got my set. they look awesome!
Holy heck! wish I could fit 37 on stock suspension! these 33's are maxed in the wheel well.

Your front suspension must be sagging, a couple turns on the keys would help it
Thanks for sharing, and its possible it is. this truck is a work horse and does alot of hauling. also the 1500 and 2500 suspension is different.
They are 33.
yup! the tire i measured, measured 31.
32.8 actually
Hey just checking but that’s a 2wd right looks like but I just want to make sure. Also any updates on this truck after this video? Thanks

Yeah those are 33s buddy. 32.8 to be exact
haha yeah I think my buddies tire had some wear he didnt know about! lol
Mine (4x4) is a 07 sets alot higher than yours and is stock I have 285/75/16's on mind they look kinda small

I’m thinking my torsion bars might be the issue.
Might rub once you start whipping that truck around town
She doesn’t whip around very fast lol. But everything’s been good since the video. No rubbing 👍
10 inch lift and 40's.
Get Er done!!!!

I want to say you should be fine, but you should speak with a local tire shop. They’ll know %100 if it will fit.
Also need to make sure the bolt pattern matches up from the trail boss.

Np. Nice 8 lug wheels are hard to come by for a cheap price. Usually people hold on to them or they want retail prices. Lol
HI
ARE YOU RUNNING A FULL SET OF THE 285s CURRENTLY, IF SO,,,, HAVE YOU ANY RUBBING ON ANY SUSPENSION PARTS?
I HAVE AN 2005 STOCK DURAMX
Mike P not yet. Hopefully this week, I’m currently trying to find a set and a good price. 👍🏻
@@HandsOnDismantler I'd like to see/hear the results
Mike P will do! Thanks for the support as well!
Mike P just got a set put on today with no issues. Haven’t had to trim anything more than what was already done. Put about 40 miles on them. 👍🏻
@@HandsOnDismantler WOULD LOVE TO SEE THEM, ARE YOU GONNA MAKE A VIDEO?
You can go 33 no problem.
Its a great size!
Did you add a larger spare to match size change? if so, did the larger size fit under truck ?
Yes! If you’re upgrading your tires to a much larger size like I did in this video. You should get your spare tire swapped out too. You don’t have to get the same “expensive” matching 33 inch tire but the spare should be matching in size. Even if it’s a HT but your vehicle has AT. Or MT tires
And yes it did fit under the truck using the stock spare tire hoist
Awesome!! Thank you for the quick response on both questions!!
what year is your truck
02!
But still awesome 👌
Thank you!
