Bashful Batöni Waterfall Arena (Heidiland)

Wandern hin und her: Batöni Wasserfall Arena von Weisstannen in Herbst. 9km, +/-750m.
If you want to find this lovely spot in astern Switzerland, you will need to be in shape. The hike starts at the village of Weisstannen, about a 30 minutes drive from Sargans or with the 432 bus, which runs once per hour during the week and about once per two hours on the weekends.
The hike climbs steeply for about 4.5km and 750 meters upward. We did it during the Abfahrt season in the Fall and right after some rains, so found the steep trail a bit muddy and difficult to navigate in places. There was a big landslide near the arena we had to scramble through.
From the arena, you have the option of walking back they way you came or continuing another 3.5 hours to the Pizolhütte where you can catch mountain transport down to Wangs. Doing this as open-jaw requires using two cars or public transit with 20 minutes walk back down to Sargans if you park there and use the bus heading up, but is possible by these three methods.
