I think you guys are right that the Cavs will hold back on major moves to see what the new coach and their core look like. I wouldn’t be surprised if they added some veteran bench shooting too, to ensure they get a legit look at what they have.

On the other hand, you could easily say the Cavs might be fighting with the Heat and Pacers to avoid the play-in. The Cavs could actually be better and still fall to 5th or worse next year.
You're massively underselling the Cavs top 4 finish 2 years in a row. Dealt with a lot of injuries last year. DG had his worst season since his rookie year. Mobley getting better. Saying they're fighting for the playin is disrespectful. The 76ers are paper tigers. They're close to apron 1 with 6 guys signed and one is their 2nd round pick
