The Magic were playing for the 2 seed basically until the last 2 games of the season. So it's not a huge jump to think they'd be better than almost anyone but the Celtics. Provided Paolo, Suggs and Franz take another leap. And yes OKC looks dangerous!

Paul George would have required a max contract and there was no room with Paolo/Franz. Klay has an injury history and KCP is a better option in terms of age and defense. This has been a measured approach to a budding franchise and no sophisticated NBA insider would deny the Magic are a top four seed in the east barring injury. If PB, FW and JS take the next step you could argue they are a potential two seed.

Caruso won't start over Dort. AC is a tiny bit better but Lu just had an amazing playoff & has been the heart of this team for yrs. To tell Dort you lost your spot to a guy who is a clone of you & who wasn't starting on the Bulls, could be taken as a smack in the face. I'd start AC over iHart(so Chet is still the official Starting Center, so playing AC & Lu both in starting l/u makes sense
