Survivorship bias stated perfectly. We only see the success because it appears in front of us. What we don't see are the failures which take up the majority of people.
And a lot of them don't even have a good idea. They attempt to start their own business only because they were told they should be their own boss. They don't even have an idea of what their business is going to be about.
6 month to live off of is what I did. My wife and I saved for a couple years to start our business with no debt. It's way too easy to get into debt, when you have little income in the beginning. It was a couple months of being fully self employed before I saw the first check come through, it was was only $200, but what a relief that my dreams started to materialize.
More than six months living expenses. You need operating expenses too. My business took over a year to make it to breakeven, but by then I was in a horrible financial situation. He's spot on here.
This is solid advice. Especially, with college entrepreneurship. Rizzing college students up to get them to walk out into traffic so they can steal their wallets. Can't understate the importance of IT, cybersecurity and information assurance. That is in addition to solid business plan, financials, etc.
Basically don't fall for survivor bias. You only see the successful people that went this route, but you don't see the massive group that failed doing this as few people are willing to put there failed experience online.

True, we often hear about success, not always all the failures.
My dad used to be a lawyer he started a business and failed though
No one cares about failures!
Yeah people thing it’s easy to just do it 😂 I mean it’s easier than ever, but you gotta know marketing and tech or your not in the game
Mark doesn’t want competition. He is a major gatekeeper.

The main problem with most new business is that having a great idea is not enough. It takes a lot of dedication and sacrifice to be sucessful.

Best advice to cuban. Spread the wealth out before people rise up and take it all away.
Save my money? Wow what a brilliant take. Never would have thought of that.
75% fail. Most people do not have the hustle and people skills to be an entrepreneur. Including myself.

The majority of new small business owners failed in the first five years. Just the facts.
