The round object with holes around the outside is a brake rotor from an automobile, alot of people use them for anchors since they're so heavy and easy to find!
Yayyy !! An ol school civil war artillery river adventure from chiggs !!! My favorite vids. Outstanding adventure need more civil war relic hunts chiggs. Thanks for taking us along pal
Hey Beau! I love your videos, I'm confident I have seen 90% of them. I appreciate you sharing your adventures with us! Now, I do have an idea to throw by you, have you considered a camera on the bow of your kayak for when you tow it and dive? I think it would be a cool perspective to view your recovery of these relics, especially in situations where it may be a bit more difficult for you to film such as this one. Thanks mate.
AWESOME!!! Very well done. Thats so cool to look down and see those shells just laying there, waiting 150 years for somebody to recover and document. Thanks for the experience.
You sir are one of my new favorite TH-camrs. Not only do you post quality videos, but you also make your titles 100% accurate to what you post. Keep it up!
I’m watching this on the 1st January 2019, so it’s the first time this year for me seeing these shells, this year anyway lol Happy New Year, May you have many good finds this year.
Thank you so much Aquachigger for sharing your adventures with us! I'm in college right now so I don't have the time or money to go metal detecting, and your videos are the next best thing! Keep up the great work my friend!!!
from a sash window, the ones that are vertical with an upper and a lower, and yes definitely a brake rotor, c/w hub and bearings........cool vid Chig, as always.....
I read that Parrott shells and Hotchkiss shells were very dangerous to advancing infantry if friendly artillery was firing over your head... they shed pieces. The Schenkl shell was preferred for for firing over the heads of friendly infantry because the sabot was made of paper mache.
What a great day,you make it so interesting by pointing out other nature things along the way. I am disabled so you make me feel like I'm right there with you. My hubby bought me an old bounty hunter I couldn't wait to try out,but can't dig and get up and down myself. He says doesn't interest him so will have to find someone else. Also my O2 tank raises cane with detector. So I'll watch you and nuggetnoggen ,! You are the best thing for me in the last 3 yrs . Loved the Alaska series,my parents lived in Fairbanks during Korean War ,dad was stationed there mom loved it. That was before it was a state ! In MN we don't have relics like you have tho😕. You keep making them and I will watch, hello to Lindsey your lovely bride.
at 10:41, its a rotor for a disc brake. its what the brake shoes squez on to slow or stop the vehicle. you can see the bolt studs where the lug nuts would be tightning to hold the wheel on.
Chig, you should fabricate and weld a go-pro holder to one of those old boat anchors you keep finding. Then you could set it in the sand pointed at the hole you are fanning and have both hands free!
I was out at the river yesterday. I went to the Antietam today. Just looked around a bit. Didn't find anything but old pottery fragments, an old whistle, and a turtle shell.
Hi aquachigger, big fan and love to see all the civil war relics you find and I was wondering if you ever considered opening up your collection to the public, I'd love to learn more about the stuff you've found.
Hurray for Mr. Chigg, great video. The artillery shaped object that was silent was a Rock Hotchkiss. I believe the B-52s wrote a song about it in the 80's. :-)
AquaChigger you should go to linenville caverns in the nc mountains its so cool and there is a old civil war firepit in the cave and you should go to morrow mountain nc there is a historic house love vids keep it up

At 18:42, darn near drowned, you didn't tell me to hold my breath!!!
So glad you are back in the water relic hunting! Love the longer videos too! Thank you for always sharing!
Its a brake rotor - a modern one
Relitively modern anyway.
the whole wheelhub with brakerotor since the wheelstuds are still on there, could probably be from the 90sich since its a vented rotor
Erik Simca they've been doing vented rotors since the 70's
obtucewillie thanks for telling me
Really depends on the term modern. Hub and rotor combos havent been used in about 20 years.
I swear, "HOLD YOUR BREEAATH" never gets old! ROFL!! Love it!!
YAAAAAY, glad to see/hear you back in the water...HOLD YOUR BREATH!
Love how half the time when ya point the camera back, the boat is floating away, doin' it's own thing.
glad you are adding videos and getting back to the river treasure.
Classic Aqua Chigger videos we all love! Nobody is an entertaining at water hunting as the Chig.

Wow what a hunt!! That rock looked exactly like a shell!
Must have been a massive cannon to fling that 20 pounder. Wow
What's more; can you imagine getting hit with that thing?
Yikes... (!)
what a thrill to find USCW artillery projectiles, I own quite a few, but have never been where I could find any.
The round car part is definitely a brake rotor. It still has the lugs where the Tire goes and lug nuts.
