Hey Scott, one thing I think you should've mentioned: One of the main reasons the Master System thrived in Brazil was the lack of support for Nintendo's NES. That made other companies, like CCE (a company that makes computers now), make an unlicenced NES (examples are the "Turbo Game" and Dynavision). And, because Tec Toy was - and is to this day - a major toy-making brand in Brazil, there was no enemies for it. It was only after Gradiente supported the SNES, and Playtronic, the N64, that this changed

its pretty iconic how he specifically brings up how the Wii was still getting Just Dance titles when last December, they revealed that Just Dance 2020 would be the last game made for the Wii.
I'm glad that you pointed out how the Playstation 2 was also a DVD player. It's pretty much the only reason it sold so many units. Most homes didn't have DVD players at the time, so as the console got cheaper, more people opted to get the PS2 because it also played games and their kids could have something to play while everyone else could just watch movies. The install base is a little less impressive when you consider the top-selling games sold merely a fraction of how many consoles were made. The Gamecube's install base (which was a tiny 20 million) has sold games that make up 30-35% of their users, while the best selling PS2 game includes less than 11% of all their users. @@penumbra0182 Also the 7800, successor to the 5200, was discontinued on the same day as the 2600. That would be like the NES being discontinued with the N64. The 2600 was really a beast of a machine.

Honestly it's so cool that fans are keeping the Dreamcast alive. It's such a cool little piece of hardware that I'm glad people are still doing things with it
The NES was released in America in 1985, discontinued in America in 1995, but kept being made until 2003 due to a lack of parts. People are still making homebrew games for it since 2009 & the number for technical support on the back of the console still works today, so technically, it’s still kind of alive today.
Also, Tectoy, along with still selling the Master System, it’s also selling the Mega Drive/Genesis with SD card support! Edit: And unlike AtGames’ plug & plays, this one has EXCELLENT emulation!
6:06 Scott left out how there's a big homebrew community to this day for the Atari 2600, so technically the system should read "1997-present" since that's what he did for the Dreamcast.

With this, the Wii is probably the only console to technically have a longer life than it's successor, the Wii U, which had it's last game sometime in 2018.
Some might say the Wii U isn't dead because Super Mario Maker still has it's servers up, but that's separate from the actual Wii U's services.
The Atari 2600 outlived the 5200, IIRC.
@@penumbra0182 Also the 7800, successor to the 5200, was discontinued on the same day as the 2600. That would be like the NES being discontinued with the N64. The 2600 was really a beast of a machine.
F
All Wii U's online features but Miiverse or Wii U chat are still going. Also "it died at the same time as the wWii because it still can plays its Just Dance 2020" lol kidding
PS3 got Persona 5 as well. Long live PS3 haha
Far-No Hell they still get just dance games lol
I recently bought it for the PS3 because well... it's only 720p with slightly unstable 30 fps, so why not.
@@xythrr buy an Xbox one then. You can play sonic generations on it

I just bought my PS2 in perfect condition a few weeks ago at Goodwill.
*_KonkyDong 97_* play persona 3 fes trust me
I got mine for 20 bucks at a garage sale lmao
Fools. I found a mint condition PS2 that my cousin forgot about in the attic (my cousins old room) of my grandma's garage and my cousin gave it to me for free.
I like how I rewatch this all the time and it’s already old. This video aged like those consoles
Almost being at 1000 subscribers is nothing compared to almost owning every copy of Madden 08
5:34 In my country Colombia (South America) the 360 is still in stores.
Honestly it's so cool that fans are keeping the Dreamcast alive. It's such a cool little piece of hardware that I'm glad people are still doing things with it
Wtf is happening in the background 4:53?
Wtf
My God? What the hell scott
Maybe someone being choked out? No clue
It's a Sega Pico commercial.

At around 26 seconds, you can see a mom trying to get her kid away from the TV.
It's a Sega Pico commercial guys!

The Famicom is from 1983-2007? Are you sure? Because I saw a famicom in a store a few months ago, heck they're still there.
Man, youtube recommended me this just a few days after the 3DS died.
RIP in Pepperoni Nintendo 3DS :(
I will hate you forever

SuperStitious Waffle 294 PS fan freak.
ChronoTriggerGaming there's a million babies
That dosnt mean you hammer them
Dude i grew up in 2010 with the ps2 and the beginning gag really hit me in the kokoro!
Maybe going to Brazil isn't that bad
Scott: The Japanese equivalent to these consoles had even longer lives.
Me: ... Checks out.
The Master System didn't just come to Brazil, it STAYED in Brazil
all of these consoles lasted longer than my happiness
"What does it look like I'm doing?". Fixing that PS2. Should change your name to Scott the Fonz.
6:06 Scott left out how there's a big homebrew community to this day for the Atari 2600, so technically the system should read "1997-present" since that's what he did for the Dreamcast.
Love your content! You need more subs!
BreathoftheSwitch YT agreed!
Agreed
@6:22 I like how the Sony PS2 made a Microsoft sound.
I love this intro so much. Great icebreaker for introducing people to the Woz.
0:11 I still have that exact 3DS ever since my 11th birthday! 😆
I’m so excited for just dance 2034 for the wii

I am excited for FIFA 168 for the PS3
To be honest mr. Woz I would be pretty disappointed if my child lasted a measly 13 years
THANK YOU! Some consoles should stand a genuine test of time and the fact that 13 years is stretching it in people's beliefs is baffling
scott: they keep releasing games like just dance
Just dance 2020: *is the last game
Dont mean to be an ass, but ps2 made it to 2016 with a fifa, and the last online server shut down
I just start cry every time Scott says the word "Brazil"
6:35 play it on GameCube
WTF ARE YOU DOING TO THAT PLAYSTATION 2 SCOTT!??? THAT'S MY CHILDHOOD BEST FRIEND!!

0:02 I remember when I remember when I lost my mind
the wii’s still going, it’s still getting games
The Sega Pico was so good in Japan that a successor was made, known as the Advanced Pico Beena, which was discontinued somewhere in 2011
Plethora... you said that really weird.
Update: the Wii is no longer getting new games. Just dance is no longer being released on it, due to a subscription service Ubisoft is doing. o7
"HOW AM I GONNA PLAY MADDEN '08 NOW?"
*holding a stack of copies of Madden '08 for other systems*
2:51 oh cool, you chose Ghostbusters 3 as the PS2’s example (and Sonic Unleashed, as well!) thats a great choice, actually!
W. Bourke Feature Entertainment but the game is only called ghostbusters the video game.
lol, when i was little i tought that sonic unleashed and metal slug 3 were playstation 2 titles

3:58 UGH, THAT AD! MY EYES!
and thus you realize that a year after this video releases that the Xbox 360 practically ended
Wii lived for about 14 years and I find that incredible I frickin' love the Wii man

I think that actually says "Karasu" because the japanese characters are「カラス」
