Other than having problems with my in ears during this song, it was a great show. New Jersey was definitely one of the best shows on tour...you can see my drum tech fixing the problem during the performance of this song. He did an awesome job as always.
Idc what anybody says. You were the perfect fit in slayer. I listen to monsters of rock 92 all the time just to hear the drums!
Rock solid. You’re a legend Paul 🤘🇮🇪🤘
Paul,
Thank you for returning to Slayer and allowing my 20 yrs. old son to go to yet another Slayer show together. (11-22-14 Atl) You bring a higher level of energy to the stage.
Thank you for sharing these awesome videos with us, your Slayer family!
Hope to see you on tour again.
So under rated. My favorite Slayer drummer
you are my favorite drummer of all time PERIOD
one of the best metal drummer...
thats what makes a good drumtech :) being able to work under pressure and be able to sort 99% of all drum problems :)
İ love his drumming!
Good job, sir. First album from slayer I bought was 'divine intervention' back in the day. I even bought the tab book for guitar. I hadnt heard any slayer song before, except 'Gemini' in the radio. I blasted the c-cassette every freaking day and what struck me was the drum fills and the production and sound of the drum track. It was so damn heavy. first time I heard that kind of drumming. of course some kind of black metal shit from same radio show, but that is titty slapping compared to the pure hitting power of your style. I wanted to learn more about slayer, I bought reiging blood and saw couple music videos in TV, from the Lombardo era. I was thinking what is this. Who is that simple drummer?! thats not the guy I wanted to hear.
So, for me, divine intervention era line-up and songs are the definition of Slayer. it was a strong experience. still listen to it from time to time. I even have the tab book and tried to remember how the songs went. I'm not really into this kind of stuff anymore, but divine intervention and that punk stuff still I listen. how funny is that :D
The machine at work! What Lombardo can't do anymore, you certainly do it perfect.
i dont think so...but hes good enuf...he keeps slipping behind the beat until its in front of it, its a weird style i respect it but its not how Dave played these songs.
@@thetoneknob4493 Dave used to play them in a major killer way...way before he started to think he was the king of cuban groove bullshit in the 2000s....
Certainly as much as you do.
Clueless poser.
hit it like a sledgehammer - one of the best drummers ever. period
MAN!!!
Chemical Warfare!!!
This song kick ass with you!!!
Your breard is wicked, dude. Amazing as always.
Sounds great, Paul! I don't know if you're in pain or concentrating, but I like it!
He’s enjoying every minute of it bro 🤣
Paul Fucking Bostaph ! Amazing !
Thanks Paul for kicking a $$ on these tracks and for Slayer!
Best recording so far
They should segue into Ghost of War at the end of that song live some time before they end their final tour. It'd just sound so right!
Awesome Job Mr. Bostaph.
お見事!としか言いようがない…
ポールボスタフ大好き!
Fuck yeah! Badass! Made me stand up to watch this video & start headbanging naturally, good job paul. Been a fan since forbidden. Met you w exodus in some shithole tiny bar in michigan. Still have a scar on my rt eyebrow from that night. I think like 40 people showed & only 4 of us thrashed out hahaaa
BEAST
LEGEND
The only way to deploy such a perfect and powerful performance is to be a little different from natural people!!!You re out of this world MR BOstaph .. KEEP ROCKING!
solid as a concrete block!
Inspirational stuff, Paul!
Chemical Warfare ~an absolute killer!
Hey Paul, the tech that comes up, does he replace your battery on your wireless pack? If so, thats incredible communication between the two of you, to tap on your pack and he knows. Seamless professionalism. Cheers bro!
sounds awesome!
Nice work Paul. Seen you guys in Indy a couple months ago. Great Job!
The Best Drummer of Thrash Metal!!!
Fuckin untouchable
Dave Lombardo, dipshit
Dustin Boltjes.
Классный дядька!👍
Yes Paul ... you are great Drummer...
Hello drummers,
I've always wondered how I could play the thrash beat on the snare and hi-hat without making the sticks hit each other.
Because it does not happen when I play lower tempos or something "less busy" with my left hand I would say.
By the way, is this the 14x5,5 Loud Series Snare from Yamaha ? Awesome sounding snare. Good performance.
Have you tried raising your hi-hat enough so your hands aren't as close together?
burns01 Exactly what Vaginaattori said. That's what I do, that's what a lot of drummers I know do when playing this kind of stuff. Raise that high hat and even lower the snare some creating a decent amount of space. Lowering the snare Ive found helps when playing thrashy kinda stuff too as you get to beat the thing up moreso than play it if that makes sense lol. It can make spacing for fills a bit weird at first tho.
I was here and it was Such a killer show, although I did miss Lombardo and Hanneman. During Angel of Death and I believe Reign in Blood, they had a beer banner that said Hanneman instead of "Heineken" lmao, as a tribute to Jeff.
04:17 you look EZ !
02:22 ....man, i loooove that !!
Да! Бостафф барабанщик от Бога!!!
FUCK YEAH!!! I'm gonna buy me a Labrador. His name is BOSTAPH!
What a journey! It is almost as we were together with a formula 1 pilot during a race!
lol, funny perspective, it looks really simple and easy to play :D
Bostaph has everything perfect
We are waiting for you in Brazil!
that's some serious stuff man
While hitting that drums its feels like running miles away.. great workout...
hes got the same gloves as me, that means im cool too,,
Maybe
He's trying to look like u
Gloves.........😂😂😂
GREAT PAUL!
Tough job having to do heavy physical work in a loud an dark environment at night even on Saturdays and Sundays.
***** Yes. Stamping defective parts at a GM union shop, and waking up 10 years later fat, unskilled, and unemployed is a job.
Fucking badass! I always liked his style of Thrash better than Lombardo. Perfect.
yes but he's playing Lombardo's song....and this performance is slower than it should be....
Playing live is all about "feel". Unless you play to a metronome live "totalt buzzkill" then you'll get defferent tempis every night. Not more than 2-6 BPM hopefully but still.. And at least he plays the song propperly! Lombardo was fucking WAY to much around at the end!! I saw him at Copenhell and he sucked ass!!
dekapitatorr Hey for 51 its not bad at all, I bet your half his age and would not be able to get through one song. Never mind the speed.
Hey Paul, just wondering what your preferred settings are for your GoPro? I just got myself a Hero 3+ Black so I can do my own drum cams, currently experimenting in rehearsals.
Kick ass videos and performance man.
Dave and Paul are the best for Slayer.
And Jon Dette
Lan zaten 3 tane bateristi var Slayer'in ne mal adamlarsınız ahxhdhhs
@@Vorticy135 he should of got the gig full time
HELL YES!!!!!
Such a fucking great show
Bostaph!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Fucking Master !!
Such a pro, but people sleep on his blast beats and quads are next level. In fact on Divine Intervention his quad fills blew me away, first time I heard anything like it. People that say Lombardo is a better drummer, just show me Lombardo playing anything off of Divine Intervention? Paul can play anything ... period. He could play for any metal band. Slipknot .. Meshuga .. Rush you name it.
Actually, funny you should mention it---Dave's attempts at Dittohead were a mess---at least the ones we saw on TH-cam. To my knowledge, he never attempted "Killing Fields" or any other track off of DI.
@@blppt Most folks are Lombardo diehard fans and I understand I thought he was the best drummer in the world until 1994
@@artonline01 To be fair, his double bass is far superior to Bostaph's nowadays live.
@@blppt you are lucky my friend to still have that deep down love for him. I hope you keep that love for him it can be fleeting if you do not cherish it.
not a fair analysis this go pro is getting sound mostly from on leg Paul is a badass its just not the most flattering recording for sound but it is great if you want to see how perfect his hands are.
Is there a name for the technique he uses or what kind of technique is it when he plays on his ride so fast? He's like turning his hand all the time.
Julian Proske. It's push pull technique in American grip, with some wrist assistance. Best way to play like that is to practice your whole are from the shoulders down, your forearms, WRISTS, then fingers
Julian Proske .Also, Moeller technique will help
Thanks
The best drummer in thrash metal in the world, simply.
maaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! lol
huahauhauah, yea sure.
Dave Lombardo
Massive and precise drum cannonade
what happened to die cast hoops across the entire kit, Yamaha? Paul is the top drummer in music!
Fuck, that’s how you hit. He hits harder and faster than Lombardo . Facts
Master!
awesome !!!
CHEMICAL WARFARE 🤘🏼🤘🏼
PAUL NOSTAFH AND DABE LOMBARDO THE BEST PLAUER DRUM'S OF SLAYER THRASH METAL BAND👍👍👍
Nobody is better in thrash metal
Fernanceypants maybe in ur fantasy land they are
LAWL....Oh ye sheltered thrash metal fan.... He couldn't touch Gene Holgan if he paid to. As a matter of fact, Gene could fart better drum playing. You really need to listen to Dark Angel before you make such silly remarks.
Paul himself has said that he cant be compared with Hoglan....especially the Strappin era....Hoglan is the best
My favourite drummer is Tom Hunting. I don't know why, but I really like his rythms.
Haha, Gene Hoglan, Tom Hunting, Dave Lombardo, Igor Cavalera, Perry Strickland, even Lars Ulrich from the 80’s are way better than Paul Bostaph, I’m not saying he is not good but he is definitely not the best.
Love you
MAESTRO
unique drummer of slayer
Not gonna lie at 0:28
That shit looks very PAINFUL!
Master Bostaph

Dude, you're doing a great job. stay heavy, man!
Paul Bostaph is good, but I'm surprised to see people calling him the best. In my opinion Dave Lombardo is king.
they both are great drummers...The king as you say thought is the one and only Gene Hoglan....
Please, Paul is far from good, he's amazing, like Dave. Comparing the two is like saying Bach is better than Mozart.
Dimitris dm Gene Hoglan is a monster drummer, but there is more great drummers out there. Turn your eyes to European drummers like George Kollias, to start.
I know George. He is from my country and he is great drummer and great guy but i dont like the music he plays
Go listen to every album he's played on, with Slayer, Testament, Forbidden, Exodus etc. Especially Divine Intervention, the whole REASON i started thrash drumming. And my other huge influence Nicko McBrain for everything else. :)
Chemical warfer! !!!
Killed Paul.
Il a des bras de bûcherons et une technique puissante.
