There are two fill points on the OD tranny. You need to fill both. Yes, they communicate internally but still need to fill both. Do not use GL5 fluid. 50 wt mineral oil is recommended.
I have recently inherited a bunch Studebaker parts and cars, a 48 Class M pickup. Mine has been highly customized. I would love to see any videos of your truck so that I can see what is still original on mine. I have 1 question is how tight is your turning radius? Mine is appears to very high. Truck was my Father in-laws and I heard it run for the first and he had it for over 10 years.

Ill get some more video of it up soon. Not sure about turning radius but tires seem too big for it as it stands. Have not got to drive it much yet.
